  • Shaq Lawson: Signs with Panthers

Lawson was signed to the Panthers' practice squad Tuesday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports. Lawson spent the 2023 season with the Bills, recording 13 total tackles (seven solo), including 1.0 sacks, over 16 games. He will now provide the Panthers with a veteran option on the defensive line, which has been hampered by injuries all year long.

  • Bills' Shaq Lawson: Expected to suit up Sunday

Lawson was listed as a full participant Friday after missing Thursday's practice session due to an illness. Lawson has become a role player at this stage of his career with just 13 tackles -- including 1.0 sacks -- on the season while exceeding 50 percent of the defensive snaps in only two games. Nevertheless, the Bills' defensive line has stood out all season amid a banged-up defense, so having a good rotational piece like Lawson available can only help.

  • Bills' Shaq Lawson: Avoids injury report

Lawson (toe) is not listed on Wednesday's injury report, Chris Brown of the Bills Radio Network reports. Lawson's toe injury forced him to sit out Sunday's loss to the Jaguars, but it looks like he's back to full health. Getting Lawson back on the field will be key for a Buffalo defense that placed both Matt Milano (leg) and DaQuan Jones (pectoral) on injured reserve Wednesday. The Bills take on the Giants in Week 6.

  • Bills' Shaq Lawson: Not playing Week 5

Lawson (toe) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jaguars in London. Lawson will be one of two edge rushers inactive for the contest, as he'll be joined in street clothes by Greg Rousseau (foot). Fortunately for Buffalo, the team will be getting some reinforcement to its pass rush in the form of Von Miller (knee), who is expected to be available on a limited pitch count in his season debut after being reinstated from the PUP list. Once Miller is fully ramped up and Rousseau is fully healthy, Lawson could end up getting lost in the shuffle in a deep pass-rushing group that also includes Leonard Floyd and A.J. Epenesa.

  • Bills' Shaq Lawson: Added to injury report

The Bills added Lawson to their injury report Saturday due to a toe injury, and he is considered questionable for Sunday's contest against Jacksonville in London, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports. Lawson didn't appear on the injury report at all during the week, so it's unclear when he picked up the toe issue. The veteran defensive end has been playing a rotational role for the Bills this season, logging less than half of the team's defensive snaps in three of the first four weeks. Lawson has totaled three tackles overall on the campaign.

  • Bills' Shaq Lawson: Returns on one-year deal again

The Bills are re-signing Lawson on a one-year contract Monday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Lawson also played out the 2022 season with Buffalo on a one-year deal, recording 3.5 sacks in his 15 appearances that campaign. The veteran defensive end also had 31 tackles (19 solo), one pass breakup and one forced fumble last year.

  • Bills' Shaq Lawson: Returning to Bills

Lawson agreed to a one-year contract with the Bills on Thursday, Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reports. Lawson spent the first four seasons of his career with the Bills, and he'll now return to his original team after a pair of one-year stints with the Dolphins and Jets. He appeared in 14 games with the Jets in 2021 and totaled 23 tackles (15 solo), a sack, an interception, two pass defenses and a fumble recovery.

  • Jets' Shaq Lawson: Cleared for Week 10

Lawson is active for Sunday's game against the Bills after previously being listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. Even though Lawson took a designation into the weekend, the Jets never seemed to have much concern about his availability after he turned in full practice Friday following limited sessions Wednesday and Thursday. Lawson should occupy a starting role on the edge for the Jets, but he's yet to produce IDP-worthy numbers in 2021. Through eight games, Lawson has registered 14 tackles, no sacks, two pass breakups, an interception and a fumble recovery.

  • Dolphins' Shaq Lawson: Questionable for Sunday

Lawson (ankle) is considered questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports. Lawson was a limited participant in practice Friday, but he has a chance to return for the regular-season finale after missing the Dolphins' one-point victory over the Raiders in Week 16. If Lawson remains sidelined, however, Andrew Van Ginkel figures to assume a heavy workload.

  • Dolphins' Shaq Lawson: Available for Week 6

Lawson (shoulder) will play in Sunday's game against the Jets, Safid Deen of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. It was reported earlier Sunday that Lawson would be expected to play after managing a trio of limited practice sessions throughout the week, so this news is a positive sign for the team. With Kyle Van Noy (groin) missing Sunday's game, expect Lawson to draw a start, with Sam Eguavoen and Andrew Van Ginkel managing snaps at the other strongside linebacker position.

  • Dolphins' Shaq Lawson: Officially questionable

Lawson (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets. Lawson couldn't suit up Week 5 versus San Francisco, but he's now managed to put together a trio of limited practice sessions. It looks as though Lawson is trending in the right direction, but if he is forced to miss any more time, Andrew Van Ginkel remains on hand and ready to draw another start.

  • Dolphins' Shaq Lawson: Won't play Week 5

Lawson (shoulder/illness) was ruled out for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports. The 26-year-old practiced as a limited participant Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday's session, but he apparently didn't show enough to have a chance of suiting up this weekend. Andrew Van Ginkel likely will have an increased role Sunday in Lawson's absence.

  • Dolphins' Shaq Lawson: Doesn't practice Wednesday

Lawson (shoulder/illness) didn't practice Wednesday, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports. Coach Brian Flores said Monday that he's not worried about the shoulder injury Lawson suffered against the Seahawks last week, but it's still troublesome to see the defensive end kick off the week with a missed practice. Look for Lawson's practice participation to climb as the week unfolds before you can feel comfortable about his availability for Sunday's game in San Francisco.

  • Dolphins' Shaq Lawson: Hit with injury against Seahawks

Lawson (shoulder) is questionable to return to Sunday's matchup against Seattle, Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post reports. The 2016 first-round draft choice was able to register his first sack of the season Sunday, taking down Russell Wilson at the 2:49 mark of the third quarter to bring up a third-down and 24 for Seattle. Unfortunately, on that very same play, Lawson was slow to get up, convincing Miami's training staff to take a closer look at him. The 26-year-old remains sidelined but has a chance to make it back during Week 4 if he proves healthy enough to go.

  • Dolphins' Shaq Lawson: Battling hip injury

Lawson (hip) was listed as a limited participant on Monday's practice estimate, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports. Lawson suffered a hip injury in Sunday's loss to the Bills, but it's a positive sign that he would be practicing in some capacity if the Dolphins took the field Monday. He'll be closely monitored during the practice week leading up to Thursday's matchup versus the Jaguars.

  • Bills' Shaq Lawson: Will play Saturday

Lawson (hamstring) is active for Saturday's playoff matchup against the Texans. Lawson will ultimately miss just one game with a hamstring injury. The linebacker has been a productive pass rusher for the Bills, posting a career-high 6.5 sacks in 2019.

  • Bills' Shaq Lawson: Suffers injury Week 16

Coach Sean McDermott said Monday that Lawson is dealing with an unspecified injury coming out of Saturday's loss to the Patriots, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Lawson had two solo tackles and played his usual workload (66 percent of defensive snaps), so it's unclear how and when he sustained the injury. The 25-year-old's status should be updated further when the Bills release their official injury report later in the week.

  • Bills' Shaq Lawson: Third sack in 2019

Lawson recorded two tackles and one sack during Sunday's 37-20 victory over the Bills. The biggest stat of Lawson's night might actually be his 43 defensive snaps, which significantly outmeasured that of Trent Murphy (34). One game isn't enough to draw any conclusions, but it will certainly be worth keeping an eye on the division of playing time between these two players moving forward.

  • Bills' Shaq Lawson: Ready for Sunday

Lawson (personal) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Redskins. Lawson was excused from practice Thursday and Friday for personal reasons, but it won't impact his availability for Sunday's contest. The 25-year-old should fill his usual role as a rotational defensive end for the Bills in Week 9.

  • Bills' Shaq Lawson: Finishes strong

Lawson posted 2.0 sacks and a forced fumble in Sunday's win over the Dolphins. It was the first multi-sack game for the 2016 first-rounder from Clemson. Lawson finishes up the best campaign of his career with 18 tackles and 4.0 sacks to go with two forced fumbles. He's still not a full-fledged starter, which could carry into next season if the Bills keep all of Lawson, Jerry Hughes and Trent Murphy. From a team perspective, however, that trio would give the Bills an excellent starting point for the defensive end spots.
