  • Briean Boddy-Calhoun: Cut loose by 49ers

Boddy-Calhoun was released by San Francisco on Monday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Boddy-Calhoun signed a contract with the 49ers back in March but already has been sent packing. He was elevated to the active roster for one game in 2020 while with San Francisco and was on the field for 16 special-teams snaps.

  • 49ers' Briean Boddy-Calhoun: Earns promotion

The 49ers signed Boddy-Calhoun to the active roster Saturday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Boddy-Calhoun has been on the 49ers' practice squad all year, and he's set to make his 2020 debut in Sunday's game against the Football Team. Over three games last season, Boddy-Calhoun posted 13 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble.

  • Colts' Briean Boddy-Calhoun: Inks deal with Colts

Boddy-Calhoun signed a contract with the Colts on Wednesday. The 26-year-old made one appearance with the Texans in Week 9 and recorded two tackles, a sack and a forced fumble, but he was waived shortly thereafter. Boddy-Calhoun provides some depth in the secondary with Rolan Milligan (foot) moving to injured reserve.

  • Texans' Briean Boddy-Calhoun: Positive impact in debut

Boddy-Calhoun generated two solo tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in Sunday's 26-3 win over the Jaguars in London. Boddy-Calhoun joined the Texans on Wednesday and was immediately afforded major responsibility with Bradley Roby (hamstring) and Lonnie Johnson (concussion) out. He didn't disappoint in his first game of the season. Roby and Johnson could both return following the Texans' Week 10 bye, but Boddy-Calhoun figures to stick with the squad going forward after this impressive outing.

  • Briean Boddy-Calhoun: Hits free agency

The Texans released Boddy-Calhoun on Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports. Boddy-Calhoun had a large role in the Browns' defense last year, recording 56 tackles and two pass breakups. He was unable to beat out Johnathan Joseph or Bradley Roby for a starting job, however, so the Texans let him go. Boddy-Calhoun has plenty left in the tank and should be in the running for a depth role elsewhere.

  • Texans' Briean Boddy-Calhoun: Heading south

Boddy-Calhoun signed a one-year contract with the Texans on Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Boddy-Calhoun started 15 games for the Browns over the past two seasons and is a decent addition for a Texans team looking to beef up its secondary. With Aaron Colvin locked in at slot corner, Boddy-Calhoun should primarily compete with Johnathan Joseph and Bradley Roby for playing time on the perimeter in advance of the 2019 season.

  • Browns' Briean Boddy-Calhoun: Sidelined Sunday vs. Bears

Boddy-Calhoun (knee) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bears. Boddy-Calhoun only managed two limited practices this week, which weren't enough for the Browns to sign off on the cornerback returning from a two-game absence. It's expected that Mike Jordan will serve as the Browns' No. 3 corner with Boddy-Calhoun sidelined again.

  • Browns' Briean Boddy-Calhoun: Makes appearance on injury report

Boddy-Calhoun (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. The second-year pro has been playing enough defensive snaps to vault him into fantasy relevance, but he sits with just 34 tackles and six pass breakups through 12 games. The Packers have put more emphasis on the run game lately, but in the six games QB Brett Hundley has started, he's averaged 28.7 pass attempts, giving ample opportunities to cornerbacks to make plays. If Boddy-Calhoun can't go Sunday, expect Mike Jordan and Darius Hillary to see more defensive snaps.

  • Browns' Briean Boddy-Calhoun: No longer on injury report

Boddy-Calhoun (hamstring) practiced fully Friday and is on track to play against the Lions on Sunday. Boddy-Calhoun was limited in practice until Friday, when he was a full participant for the first time since injuring his hamstring in Week 8. He and the rest of Cleveland's secondary will look to slow down Matthew Stafford and the Lions on Sunday.

  • Browns' Briean Boddy-Calhoun: Won't return Sunday

Boddy-Calhoun won't return to Sunday's game against the Vikings after suffering a hamstring injury, Andrew Gribble of the Browns' official site reports. Boddy-Calhoun suffered the injury in the second half of Sunday's tilt. It's unclear how severe the injury is, but he'll have some extra time to recover since the Browns have a bye next week. Reggie Porter and Mike Jordan figure to see some extra reps in Boddy-Calhoun's absence.
