  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: RBs to Start

Hunt will remain the starting running back for the Chiefs in Week 11 against Buffalo since Isiah Pacheco (leg) isn't ready to return yet from injured reserve. And this is a good matchup for him against the Bills, who are No. 2 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. Hunt has scored at least 13.3 PPR points in five games in a row, including four outings with at least 17 PPR points. And I love that he had seven catches for 65 yards on 14 targets against Denver in Week 10. Hunt is a solid No. 2 Fantasy running back in all leagues.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Busy day as receiver Sunday

Hunt rushed 14 times for 35 yards and brought in seven of 10 targets for 65 yards in the Chiefs' 16-14 win over the Broncos on Sunday. Hunt unsurprisingly found running room at a premium against a stingy Broncos defense, but he made up for it by generating a team-high receiving yardage total and coming in second in both receptions and targets. All three components of Hunt's receiving line were season highs, while his carries and rushing yardage tallies tied and set a season low, respectively. Isiah Pacheco (IR, lower leg) is expected to remain out until later in November, so Hunt should remain in the lead-back role for a Week 11 road battle against the Bills next Sunday.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Submits full practice

Hunt (quadricep) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. For the second week in a row, Hunt is appearing on Kansas City's injury report with a listed quad issue, but his ability to practice fully Thursday clears up any concern about his availability for Sunday's game against the Broncos. With Isiah Pacheco (fibula) not expected to return from injured reserve until late November at the earliest, Hunt should be in line for at least two more outings as Kansas City's lead back. Though he's averaging a meager 3.7 yards per carry through five contests since signing with the Chiefs, Hunt has been a strong fantasy option on the back of heavy volume (at least 16 touches in each game) and a nose for the end zone (five touchdowns).

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Limited to begin week again

Hunt (quadricep) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday. Hunt was limited in practice last Thursday due to the same injury but proceeded to upgrade to full participation before rushing for 106 yards and a touchdown in Monday's win over the Buccaneers. His fantasy managers will be hoping for a similar pattern ahead of Sunday's game against the Broncos, with little indication at this point that the Chiefs have any meaningful concern regarding Hunt's Week 10 availability.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Limited by quad issue

Hunt (quad) was limited at practice Thursday. Hunt began Week 8 preparation with a limited practice last Wednesday due to a hip issue. This time around, the running back is contending with a quad concern, which makes his status worth monitoring ahead of Monday night's game against the Buccaneers. In the Chiefs' win over the Raiders this past Sunday, Hunt logged 42 snaps on offense en route to carrying 21 times for 58 yards and a TD while catching his only target for four yards.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Logs limited practice

Hunt was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice with a hip injury. In Sunday's 28-18 win over the 49ers, Hunt carried 22 times for 78 yards and two touchdowns while catching both of his targets for five yards. Hunt wasn't reported to have suffered an injury at any point during the contest, so his listed limitations Wednesday could have been maintenance-related more so than due to concern about the health of his hip. In any event, the running back will probably need to practice fully by Friday in order to approach this weekend's game against the Raiders without an injury designation.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Continues to excel as starter

Hunt rushed 22 times for 78 yards and two touchdowns while corralling both of his targets for five receiving yards in Sunday's 28-18 win over San Francisco. Hunt maintained his status as lead back after churning out 102 rushing yards and a touchdown in his first official start for Kansas City in Week 5. The 29-year-old kept momentum rolling with another standout fantasy performance, this time punching in two scores on 20-plus touches against the 49ers on Sunday. Clyde Edwards-Helaire (reserve/NFI list) was activated earlier in the week to help replace the loss of starter Isiah Pacheco (fibula), but the former did not suit up for Sunday's contest. Hunt is thriving as the starter in Kansas City and does not appear to face any threats to his playing time, making the veteran back an elite fantasy option heading into a soft matchup against the Raiders next Sunday.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Highly effective in workhorse role

Hunt rushed 27 times for 102 yards and a touchdown and brought in his only target for 15 yards in the Chiefs' 26-13 win over the Saints on Monday night. Playing in only his second game of the season -- and as a Chief since 2018 -- Hunt handled a massive workload with aplomb while grinding out tough yardage throughout the night. Hunt's longest run was only eight yards, and his carry total was his highest since Week 16 of his rookie 2017 campaign. Hunt's involvement in the passing game was minimal despite his extensive body of work in that realm and the fact the Chiefs were down yet another pass catcher in Rashee Rice (IR, knee), but his standing as the unquestioned No. 1 back gives him plenty of momentum heading into a Week 7 road matchup against the 49ers following a Week 6 bye.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Set to play Monday

Hunter does not carry an injury designation into Monday's contest against the Saints, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. Meanwhile Clyde Edwards-Helaire (reserve/non-football illness list) is listed as doubtful and likely won't be activated come Monday. As a result, Hunt figures to once again command the most touches among a smorgasbord of available backfield options including Samaje Perine and Carson Steele, although the latter could remain in the doghouse with head coach Andy Reid after fumbling for a second consecutive week.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Another limited practice

Hunt (shoulder) remained limited at practice Friday. Hunt also was limited Thursday, so he'll presumably need to practice fully Saturday in order to avoid an injury designation ahead of Monday night's game against the Saints. In this past Sunday's 17-10 win over the Chargers, Hunt made his season debut and recorded a 45 percent snap share while carrying 14 times for 69 yards and adding two catches (on three targets) for 16 yards. On the heels of that effort, health permitting, he's poised to maintain a key role in Kansas City's Week 5 backfield, which also includes Samaje Perine (five carries last week) and Carson Steele (two carries versus Los Angeles) and may welcome back 2020 first-rounder Clyde Edwards-Helaire from the reserve/non-football illness list.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Part of three-man platoon

Head coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that Hunt will rotate in with the Chiefs' other running backs during Sunday's game against the Chargers, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports. Reid added that the team has three reliable healthy running backs in Carson Steele, Samaje Perine and Hunt, so all three are expected to play a role against the Chargers. Steele remains the favorite to handle the majority of reps on early downs after racking up 17 rushing attempts in Isiah Pacheco's (fibula) absence against the Falcons last Sunday. Hunt was added to the 53-man roster Tuesday after joining Kansas City's practice squad last week.

  • Kareem Hunt: Won't be elevated this week

Hunt won't be elevated to the active roster ahead of Sunday night's game against the Falcons, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports. With Isiah Pacheco (leg) on IR and slated to miss at least four games, Hunt is destined to claim a role in the Chiefs backfield once he's had more practice time with the team. For now, however, Carson Steele, Samaje Perine and Keaontay Ingram are available to handle the team's RB duties.

  • Kareem Hunt: Could play Week 3

Head coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that there's a chance Hunt will play Sunday against the Falcons, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports. Hunt is currently on Kansas City's practice squad, but the team plans to bring the running back up to speed with the playbook in the coming days and see where he's at as the week progresses. With Isiah Pacheco (leg) on injured reserve and slated to miss at least four games, Hunt should have a chance down the road to claim a role in a Chiefs backfield that also currently includes Carson Steele, Samaje Perine and Keaontay Ingram. With that in mind, Hunt merits consideration from those with enough roster flexibility to add him to see how the void created by Pacheco's looming absence is filled.

  • Kareem Hunt: Set for visit with Chiefs

Hunt is slated to visit Kansas City on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Hunt will visit the Chiefs with Isaiah Pacheco (fibula) expected to undergo surgery and miss at least six weeks due to an injury suffered in Sunday's win over the Bengals. The veteran running back boasts familiarity with coach Andy Reid's offensive scheme and could join Samaje Perine and Carson Steele to help fill the void left behind by Pacheco's absence. Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) also will be a candidate to contribute in the backfield, though he won't be eligible to be activated to the 53-man roster until Week 5.

  • Kareem Hunt: Remains unsigned

Hunt, who remains a free agent, didn't sound optimistic last month about a potential return to the Browns, according to John Kampf of The News-Herald. During the 2023 season, Hunt logged 135 carries for 411 yards and nine TDs, while adding 15 catches for 84 yards in 15 games with Cleveland. While top back, Nick Chubb continues to work his way back from a knee injury, D'Onta Foremanand Nyheim Hines (knee) were added this offseason to bolster a Cleveland backfield that also includes returnees Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong. Meanwhile, Hunt -- who is presumably past a sports hernia procedure -- remains without a team, though in June he indicated that he planned to remain patient on that front, noting that he'd be ready for his next opportunity come training camp.

  • Browns' Kareem Hunt: Logs limited practice

Hunt (groin) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports. Hunt has been managing a groin injury of late, but he hasn't been forced to miss any games because of the issue. Based on his recent trend of practice participation, expect Hunt to log a full session Thursday approach Saturday's playoff opener against the Texans without an injury designation. Assuming that comes to pass, Hunt will be in line to reclaim his key complementary role out of the backfield behind starter Jerome Ford. Both backs were used sparingly in the Week 18 loss to the Bengals, as the Browns rested several regulars with the team having been locked in as the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoffs.

  • Browns' Kareem Hunt: Not practicing Tuesday

Hunt (groin) won't participate in Tuesday's practice, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports. Hunt was active for this past Sunday's 31-14 loss to the Bengals, but because the Browns were already locked in as the AFC's No. 5 seed, the coaching staff turned to third-stringer Pierre Strong (back) to handle a lead role in the backfield. Meanwhile, Hunt was limited to just seven snaps and finished with one touch -- a five-yard reception -- on the day, and usual starter Jerome Ford's usage was similarly light (19 snaps, five touches). If Hunt's activity level last week is any indication, he will resume practicing in full by Thursday and approach this Saturday's wild-card matchup with the Texans without an injury designation.

  • Browns' Kareem Hunt: Limited in return to practice

Hunt (groin) was a limited practice participant Thursday. Despite making regular appearances on Cleveland injury reports since signing with the team in September, Hunt has played in each of the Browns' last 14 games. He likely would be able to play through the groin issue this Sunday against the Bengals if the Browns had something at stake, but with Cleveland locked into the No. 5 seed, head coach Kevin Stefanski could look to rest several key players in the regular-season finale. It's not yet clear if Hunt will ruled out before Sunday or made inactive for the contest, but even if he isn't, both he and starting running back Jerome Ford could be in store for smaller roles than usual.

  • Browns' Kareem Hunt: To miss practice Wednesday

Hunt (groin) won't participate in Wednesday's practice, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Hunt tended to a groin injury during Week 4 prep, then avoided the issue until Week 13, at which point it began to affect his practice reps. His efficiency has suffered over the last five games (2.7 yards on his 46 carries), but he's also scored three rushing touchdowns during that span. The Browns are locked in as the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoffs, so there's a chance they may rest Hunt with an eye toward having him in optimal health for the wild-card round.

  • Browns' Kareem Hunt: Cleared for Thursday

Hunt (groin) doesn't have an injury designation for Thursday's game against the Jets, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports. The Browns have listed Hunt with a groin injury for much of the season, including each week since late November. He's yet to miss a game since signing with the team in September and should be ready to handle his usual role this Thursday as the No. 2 back behind Jerome Ford. While both backs scored touchdowns in Sunday's win over Houston, circumstances generally have been unfavorable for backfield production recently with head coach Kevin Stefanski shifting to a pass-heavy approach amidst a glut of offensive line injuries and a string of inefficient rushing performances from Ford and/or Hunt. Additionally, No. 3 back Pierre Strong has been getting some touches and snaps each week, further limiting Ford and Hunt.
