  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: WRs to Start

It's time to start Shaheed as a No. 2 Fantasy receiver in all leagues. He's been impressive in two games against Carolina and Dallas with seven catches for 169 yards and two touchdowns on nine targets, and he's averaging 18.6 PPR points per game. I'm hopeful that Chris Olave starts playing at a higher level as well, but clearly Klint Kubiak's offense has been great for New Orleans, especially Shaheed. This week, the Saints are facing an Eagles defense that has allowed two opposing receivers to score touchdowns in each of their first two games, so hopefully Shaheed and Olave can each find the end zone in this matchup.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Brings in another long score

Shaheed caught all four of his targets for 96 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 44-19 win over the Cowboys. He added 13 rushing yards on three carries. The third-year wideout has been Derek Carr's most dangerous downfield weapon to begin the season, and Shaheed's 70-yard TD catch in the first quarter Sunday set the tone for another huge performance by the Saints' offense under new coordinator Klint Kubiak. Shaheed already has two touchdowns of 50 or more yards through two games in 2024, and he'll look to give the Philadelphia secondary more than it can handle in Week 3.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Week 2 Adds (WR Preview)

Shaheed was at the top of this list last week and turned five targets into 16 Fantasy points and a top-15 finish at wide receiver. Week 2 will present a bigger challenge against the Cowboys, but I'm really interested to see his target share with the offense playing a full competitive game. If he can stay close to 20% target share then Shaheed could become a must-start option.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Week 2 Waiver Priority List

Shaheed had three catches for 73 yards and a touchdown on five targets in Week 1 against Carolina, and he could have had more production in a competitive game. I'm excited about his role this season for the Saints under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. and this New Orleans offense could be one of the better surprises this year. Shaheed is worth adding for 10-15 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Hauls in long TD in win

Shaheed caught three of five targets for 73 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 47-10 win over the Panthers. The third-year wideout was on the other end of a 59-yard TD pass from Derek Carr in the first quarter, accounting for most of his team high in receiving yards. Shaheed was expected to assume a bigger role in the Saints' offense this year under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, and the early returns were excellent. Shaheed will take on a much stingier secondary in Week 2 against the Cowboys.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Avoids injury report

Shaheed (toe/foot) wasn't listed on the Saints' injury report Wednesday, John Hendrix of SI.com reports. After tending to hamstring tightness in the first two weeks of August, Shaheed has been managing a toe/foot injury since then. Both head coach Dennis Allen and Shaheed himself expressed optimism about the third-year wideout being available for Week 1. Now that his status is confirmed ahead of Sunday's season opener against the Panthers, Shaheed will be looking to improve upon his 46-719-5 receiving line over 15 appearances in 2023.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Week 1 Adds (WR Preview)

Shaheed played five full games without Michael Thomas last year. He averaged six targets per game and topped 15 PPR Fantasy points in two of them. He should be the clear WR2 for New Orleans this season and is close to a must-start wide receiver in leagues that reward Fantasy points for kick return yardage.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Week 1 Waiver Priority List

Shaheed has a big opportunity this season as the No. 2 receiver for the Saints behind Chris Olave. Shaheed has to stay healthy after dealing with toe and foot injuries in training camp, but he should be a prime target -- and big-play threat -- for Derek Carr. And the new offense under Klint Kubiak should help all the pass catchers in New Orleans this year.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Feels ready for regular season

Shaheed (toe/foot) returned to practice this week and said he "didn't lose a step" despite missing a substantial portion of training camp, Darrion Gray of USA Today reports. Shaheed said "I stayed on top of everything that I needed to throughout the rehab process," indicating that he'll be fully up to speed with New Orleans' offense Week 1 versus the Panthers. It remains to be seen whether Shaheed has yet resumed practicing in full, but it seems like the third-year pro is on track to play in the Saints' regular-season opener on Sept. 8. Shaheed looks primed for a crucial role behind No. 1 wideout Chris Olave, but he could be deployed somewhat differently this season under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Spotted at practice

Shaheed (toe) was present for practice Wednesday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. While the extent of his participation is unclear, Shaheed's presence in any capacity is a good sign for the Saints with 11 days to go before their season opener against Carolina. He's dealt with a toe/foot injury for the past couple weeks, after missing time with a hamstring injury early in training camp.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Should be fine for Week 1

The Saints expect Shaheed (toe) to be ready for Week 1 against Carolina, Brandon Thomas of New Orleans Football Network reports. Shaheed missed most of training camp and the preseason, first dealing with a hamstring injury and now a toe issue. He excelled as a return specialist and deep threat during his first two NFL seasons, but his role may be different under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, especially because the Saints lack wideout talent behind No. 1 receiver Chris Olave. Possibilities for 2024 include Shaheed getting more short/intermediate targets and/or fewer touches on special teams.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Remains out for preseason finale

Shaheed (toe/foot) did not play in Sunday's 30-27 preseason loss to the Titans. Shaheed's absence did not come as a surprise after he missed the team's previous exhibition with an unspecified toe/foot injury. Even if he were healthy, it's likely that the 6-foot speedster would not have played Sunday, as the vast majority of New Orleans' starters also sat out. Saints coach Dennis Allen said Wednesday that he doesn't expect Shaheed to be out long with this injury. The soon-to-be 26-year-old logged career highs with 46 catches for 719 yards and five scores across 15 regular-season games last year. He'll have two weeks to return in time for the regular-season opener against Carolina on Sunday, Sept. 8.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Shouldn't miss extended time

Saints head coach Dennis Allen said Wednesday that he doesn't believe Shaheed's toe/foot injury will keep him out for long, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Shaheed missed a week and a half of training camp earlier in August with a hamstring injury and has now been out since Friday due to the lower-body injury. Johnson reports that Shaheed's injury isn't turf toe, and while Allen's assessment is encouraging for the wideout's Week 1 availability, it would be surprising if he plays in Sunday's preseason finale against the Titans.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Sidelined at practice again

Shaheed (toe/foot) is not practicing Friday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports. Shaheed is dealing with a new toe/foot injury, per Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com. After missing the Saints' preseason opener last week due to a hamstring issue, Shaheed's status now looks uncertain for Sunday's exhibition contest against San Francisco. On a positive note for New Orleans, A.T. Perry (ankle) returned as a limited participant Friday.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Sheds non-contact jersey

Shaheed (hamstring) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports. Shaheed missed New Orleans' preseason opener last week due to a hamstring injury sustained Aug. 3, but he now looks to be back to full health. He could be an option to play in Sunday's exhibition contest against the 49ers, assuming the Saints' regular starters take the field. Shaheed is primed for a key role on offense this season, both as New Orleans' primary punt and kick returner and as the No. 2 receiver behind Chris Olave.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Back at practice

Shaheed (hamstring) donned a red non-contact jersey during Tuesday's practice, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports. Shaheed was sidelined by a tight hamstring Aug. 3, which kept him from suiting up for this past Saturday's preseason contest at Arizona. Tuesday's development marks his first visible on-field activity since then, but he will need to ditch the non-contact jersey before he gains clearance for game action, which could come as early as this Sunday in San Francisco.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Not playing Saturday

Shaheed (hamstring) isn't in uniform ahead of Saturday's preseason contest in Arizona, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. During a summer in which he inked a one-year extension, Shaheed has been tending to a tight hamstring since last Saturday and will miss the Saints' first exhibition as a result. His next opportunity for game action is Sunday, Aug. 18 at San Francisco.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Sidelined by hamstring issue

Shaheed missed practice Saturday due to hamstring tightness, John Hendrix of SI.com reports. Head coach Dennis Allen didn't seem overly concerned about the injury, which was characterized as hamstring tightness, saying that the team hopes to get Shaheed back on the field Sunday. The wideout is slated to be an important player for the Saints during the coming season, as he's expected to again work as the team's lead kick and punt returner in addition to functioning as the No. 2 receiver.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Set up nicely for WR2 role

Shaheed is in an excellent position for a starting job after the Saints waited until the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft to select a wide receiver, taking Bub Means at No. 170 overall. Shaheed worked his way into a starting role as an undrafted rookie in the second half of 2022, and he then entered 2023 as the Saints' No. 3 receiver behind Chris Olave and Michael Thomas. While Thomas missed the final seven games of last season with an injury, Shaheed dealt with an injury of his own during that stretch and never really progressed to a full starter's workload. With Thomas gone and not replaced, Shaheed is in better position than ever before to pile up snaps/routes/targets, though his value on special teams as both a kick and punt returner could offer part of the explanation for New Orleans limiting his workload on offense even when the other WR options have been lacking. A.T. Perry and Cedrick Wilson look like the top candidates for wideout snaps after Olave and Shaheed this year.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Sleeper WRs

Cooks comes into Week 17 against Detroit having scored a touchdown in four of his past five home games, and the one game where he failed to reach the end zone in Dallas over that span was Week 14 against Philadelphia where he was tackled at the 1-yard line on one of his two receptions. Cooks scored a rare road touchdown in Week 16 at Miami, and he'll need to score to help your Fantasy team. He has four catches or less in six games in a row and 45 yards or less in five of his past six outings. He also hasn't topped six targets in six-consecutive contests. The Lions are No. 7 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers, and seven receivers have scored at least 12.1 PPR points against Detroit in the past five games. Cook is worth using as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in the majority of leagues in this matchup at home.
