Jaguars' Ventrell Miller: Still seeing significant role
Rotowire
Miller recorded seven tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 30-27 loss versus the Packers.
In spite of the return of Foyesade Oluokun from a four-game absence in Week 8, Miller was still on the field for a healthy 41 snaps Sunday. He actually got more snaps than Devin Lloyd (37), which is the first time that's happened this season in a game both players were active for. The Jaguars will travel to face a run-heavy Philadelphia team in Week 9.

Jaguars' Ventrell Miller: Thrives in extended opportunity
Rotowire
Miller tallied 11 tackles (eight solo), including one for loss, in Sunday's Week 4 defeat to Houston.
Miller paced the Jaguars in stops, exceeding the nine he totaled over the first three weeks of the campaign combined. The 25-year-old logged a season-high 84 percent of Jacksonville's defensive snaps due largely to the absence of Foyesade Oluokun (foot). Oluokun was placed on IR on Saturday, so Miller is likely to continue to work in a starting role for at least the next three weeks.

Jaguars' Ventrell Miller: Past Achilles issue
Rotowire
Miller (Achilles) was spotted participating in Thursday's practice, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
The 2023 fourth-round pick out of Florida missed his entire rookie campaign due to an Achilles injury, but it now appears that he's moved past the issue. Miller was flying all over the field during Thursday's practice, and he'll likely be competing for a depth role in the Jaguars' linebacker corps as training camp continues.
Coach Doug Pederson said Monday that Miller (Achilles) will miss the 2023 season, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
Miller suffered a season-ending right Achilles injury during Saturday's preseason finale against the Dolphins. Expect the Jaguars to place the rookie fourth-round pick on injured reserve in the near future. The Florida standout will need to turn his full attention toward recovering for the 2024 campaign.

Jaguars' Ventrell Miller: Staying in North Florida
Rotowire
The Jaguars selected Miller (foot) in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 121st overall.
Miller is a bit overaged at 24 as a rookie, and a Jones fracture prevented him from participating in pre-draft workouts. He missed the bulk of the 2021 season with a torn bicep as well. His best seasons came in 2020 and 2022 at Florida when he racked up 70-plus tackles and got into the backfield with regularity. The Jaguars are fairly deep at inside linebacker, so Miller won't be rushed onto the field before he's ready.
