  • Cardinals' DeeJay Dallas: Questionable due to illness

Dallas didn't practice Friday due to an illness and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Carolina, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. The Cardinals placed running back Emari Demercado (back) on injured reserve last week and now won't have position mate Trey Benson (ankle) available for Week 16. That left Dallas as the only other RB on the active roster aside from starter James Conner, but the former now is under the weather two days before a game. If Dallas isn't able to suit up Sunday, Michael Carter and Tony Jones are eligible to be elevated from the practice squad, but such transactions will need to occur by Saturday afternoon.

  • Cardinals' DeeJay Dallas: Set for backup role behind Conner

Dallas is one of two healthy running backs on Arizona's 53-man roster as of Friday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Dallas stepped in as the backup last week with Emari Demercado (back) on injured reserve and Trey Benson then suffering an ankle injury. Benson has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Carolina, leaving only Dallas on the active roster behind workhorse starter James Conner. Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon didn't say Friday if he plans to call up Michael Carter and/or Tony Jones from the practice squad Saturday. Either way, Dallas doesn't figure to get many touches on offense unless Conner suffers an injury or the game becomes a blowout.

  • Cardinals' DeeJay Dallas: Earns four carries Sunday

Dallas turned four carries into 15 yards during Sunday's 30-17 victory against the Patriots. Emari Demercado's (back) placement on injured reserve Saturday set up Dallas for his third outing of the season with offensive snaps, and rookie third-round pick Trey Benson also exited early due to an ankle injury, allowing Dallas to double up his touch count so far on the campaign. Overall, though, Dallas is averaging 3.4 yards on his eight rushes and hasn't been targeted in 14 appearances. Even if Benson is inhibited or inactive this coming Sunday at Carolina, Dallas likely wouldn't see much work behind workhorse RB James Conner.

  • Cardinals' DeeJay Dallas: Plays strictly special teams Week 15

Dallas played all 19 of his snaps on special teams in Sunday's 30-18 loss to the Seahawks. Dallas carried three times for 10 yards on the Cardinals' final drive of a 31-6 blowout win over the Jets in Week 10, but he hasn't seen any snaps on offense in any of the Cardinals' three games following a Week 11 bye. He'll likely remain relegated strictly to special teams over the final four contests of the season so long as all of James Conner, Trey Benson and Emari Demercado are available.

  • Cardinals' DeeJay Dallas: Questionable to return

Dallas is considered questionable to return to Sunday's game versus the Bears due to a shin injury, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports. The severity of Dallas' shin injury is unknown at this time. If he is unable to return, his absence is not expected to impact Arizona's offense, as he is primarily a special teams contributor.

  • Cardinals' DeeJay Dallas: Lands in desert

Dallas is set to sign a contract with the Cardinals, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports. Dallas will stay in the NFC West after a four-year start to his career in Seattle. The 25-year-old is better known for his work as a return man than in the backfield and likely will be working to hold down return duties in Arizona.

  • Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: Effective returner in 2023

Dallas rushed 16 times for 36 yards and caught six of nine targets for 26 yards across 17 games during the 2023 season. He returned 25 punts for 265 yards and 17 kicks for 440 yards (25.9 yards per return). Dallas finished 10th in the league among players with at least 15 punt returns with 10.6 yards per return, and he landed seventh among players with at least 15 kick returns with 25.9 yards per return. He's slated to be a free agent in March. Dallas could stick around with the Seahawks, but he'll have limited offensive impact as long as Kenneth Walker and/or Zach Charbonnet are healthy.

  • Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: Left out of offensive rotation

Dallas didn't record an offensive snap in Monday's 20-17 win over the Eagles. He returned one punt for seven yards. Dallas was left out of the offensive rotation for the fourth time this season, as Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet handled all the reps in Week 15. The fourth-year running back continues to be useful as a returner, but he's off fantasy radars until further notice.

  • Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: One offensive snap in loss

Dallas didn't record a touch in Sunday's 28-16 loss to the 49ers. He returned two kicks for 53 yards and one punt for eight yards. Kenneth Walker (oblique) and Zach Charbonnet (knee) were both active in this contest, so Dallas logged just one offensive snap. He'll remain the No. 3 running back until further notice.

  • Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: Puts up 15 yards in loss

Dallas rushed twice for 10 yards and caught his lone target for five yards in Thursday's 31-13 loss to the 49ers. He also muffed a punt that the 49ers recovered. Dallas slotted in as the No. 2 running back behind rookie Zach Charbonnet while Kenneth Walker (oblique) was inactive for the first time all season. Charbonnet ended up serving as a workhorse out of the backfield, limiting Dallas to just eight offensive snaps. It's unclear if Walker will be ready for the Week 13 matchup versus the Cowboys, but regardless, Dallas won't have much fantasy utility.

  • Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: Churns out 14 yards

Dallas rushed once for four yards and caught his lone target for 10 yards in Sunday's 17-16 loss to the Rams. He also returned two punts for 25 yards. Dallas played his first offensive snaps since Week 7 because Kenneth Walker left in the first half with an oblique injury. Rookie Zach Charbonnet was the clear workhorse following Walker's injury, turning 15 carries into 47 yards and catching all six of his targets for 22 yards. It sounds like Walker is trending in the wrong direction ahead of Thursday's matchup against the 49ers, and if he does sit out, Dallas will factor in as the No. 2 running back behind Charbonnet again.

  • Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: No offensive work in win

Dallas didn't log an offensive snap in Sunday's 29-26 win over the Commanders. He returned two punts for 14 yards. Dallas battled a shoulder injury during the practice week, but that's probably not the reason he was left out of the offensive rotation. After all, the fourth-year running back hasn't played an offensive snap since Week 7, as rookie Zach Charbonnet has claimed an increased role in the offense instead.

  • Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: Ready to suit up Sunday

Dallas (shoulder) is listed as active for Sunday's game against Washington. Dallas was a limited participant during practice Week 10 as he tended to a shoulder injury. The 25-year-old will now be ready to play his ninth game for the Seahawks this season, though he's largely been invisible on offense during the team's previous eight contests. Expect Dallas to contribute primarily on special teams while adding depth behind running backs Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet.

  • Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: Questionable for Week 10

Dallas (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. Dallas hasn't played an offensive snap since Week 7 and has touched the ball just nine times for 25 scoreless yards on the season. He was a limited participant in practice in the Seahawks' first two Week 10 sessions, but according to Brady Henderson of ESPN.com, head coach Pete Carroll suggested Dallas looks on track to play. If active Sunday, Dallas would fill a depth role behind Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet and would likely get most of his opportunities on special teams.

  • Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: Practices Thursday

Dallas (shoulder) was a limited participant in practice Thursday after missing Wednesday's session, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. The running back and punt returner hurt his shoulder during Sunday's loss to the Ravens. Dallas' status in Friday's practice should help determine whether he plays Sunday against the Commanders. Dallas has five carries for 14 yards and four catches for 11 yards from scrimmage this season.

  • Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: Misses practice, will try to play

Dallas (shoulder) sat out practice Wednesday, but head coach Pete Carroll said the running back will try to play Sunday versus Washington, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports. Dallas hurt his shoulder in Sunday's loss to the Ravens and needed help getting off the field after a punt. Carroll said Monday that the 25-year-old was still "pretty sore," but the coach then said Wednesday that Dallas was "bouncing around" while catching punts and running around during Wednesday's walkthrough. Dallas will try to play Week 10 against the Commanders, and if he's able to do so, he should again serve as the Seahawks' primary punt returner.

  • Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: Questionable to return

Dallas suffered a right shoulder injury during Sunday's game against the Ravens and is questionable to return, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports. The running back needed trainer assistance to get off the field after a punt, per Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times. Dallas returned two punts for nine yards before exiting. The fourth-year pro has played more on special teams than on offense in 2023.

  • Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: No offensive snaps in win

Dallas didn't log an offensive snap in Sunday's 24-20 win over the Browns. He totaled 15 yards on two punt returns. Dallas lost his kick-return duties in Week 8 with Dee Eskridge returning to the lineup. He has averaged 12.7 yards per punt return this season, which ranks fourth in the league for players with more than 10 returns. He should retain active status each week, but his fantasy utility will be negligible as long as Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet are healthy.

  • Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: Held to one catch versus Arizona

Dallas caught his lone target for no gain in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Cardinals. He also returned a kick for 24 yards and four punts for 47 yards. Zach Charbonnet (hamstring) was inactive, making Dallas the No. 2 running back behind Kenneth Walker. Dallas handled just 14 offensive snaps (23 percent) compared to Walker's 48. The 2020 fourth-round pick continues to impress as a punt returner, but his fantasy utility is negligible as long as either Walker or Charbonnet are healthy.

  • Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: Primed for No. 2 role

Dallas is expected to serve as the Seahawks' No. 2 back Sunday against the Cardinals with Zach Charbonnet (hamstring) listed as questionable but not in line to be active for the contest, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Kenneth Walker will remain Seattle's lead back and could take on a slightly larger share of the snaps and touches out of the backfield with his top backup out of the mix, but Charbonnet's expected absence clears the way for Dallas to at least have a change-of-pace role in the offensive game plan. While both Walker and Charbonnet have been available for each of the Seahawks' first five games, Dallas has played single-digit snaps on offense in every contest, recording five carries for 14 yards and three catches for 11 yards during that span.
