Giants Training Camp Interview: John Harbaugh

Fantasy News

  • Giants' Abdul Carter: Back at practice

Carter (hand) was a full participant during the Giants' training camp practice Tuesday, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports. Carter missed Monday's session due to an issue with his hand, but it doesn't look like it was anything too serious. He also tended to a minor ankle issue the week prior. Barring any further setbacks, he should be good to go for Week 1 of the regular season versus the Cowboys.

  • Giants' Abdul Carter: Suffers hand injury

Carter (hand) did not participate in Monday's practice, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. Coach John Harbaugh does not seem overly concerned about the star strong-side linebacker's injury, meaning Carter will likely be back to practice shortly. Carter has already sustained two injuries throughout the 2026 offseason, having just recovered from an ankle issue Thursday. The team will likely be cautious with Carter's recovery, but at present, his Week 1 availability doesn't appear to be in any jeopardy.

  • Giants' Abdul Carter: Ready for Sunday

Carter (illness) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys. The 2025 first-round pick from Penn State upgraded from DNPs on Wednesday and Thursday to a limited practice Friday, suggesting he's moved past his illness in time to play in Sunday's season finale. Carter has started to heat up over the Giants' last four games, recording 16 total tackles, including 3.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles during that span. Now fully healthy, he's expected to operate as one of New York's top outside linebackers in the Week 18 divisional matchup.

  • Giants' Abdul Carter: Logs sack in loss

Carter recorded two tackles (one solo), including 1.0 sacks, in the Giants loss versus Minnesota on Sunday. Carter produced one of the team's four sacks during the loss. The rookie first-round pick got off to a slow start this season but has been on a hot streak as of late, logging one sack in each of his last three outings after failing to tally one across the first 12 weeks of the campaign.

  • Giants' Abdul Carter: Logs first career sack

Carter totaled four tackles (two solo), including 1.0 sacks, in the Giants' loss to the Patriots on Monday. Carter was benched for the first quarter after missing a team responsibility during the week, but he ended up having a productive outing once on the field. The rookie first-round pick recorded the first full sack of his career, and he'll look to build on this strong performance following the team's upcoming bye week.

  • Giants' Abdul Carter: Benched again

Carter did not play in the first quarter of Monday's game against the Patriots, Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports. The Giants have termed the benching a coach's decision, with an additional report from Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post relaying the move was made after Carter missed a team responsibility during the week. Carter has been spotted on the sideline wearing a coat over his jersey, but he is expected to take the field at some point.

  • Giants' Abdul Carter: Held out of first defensive series

Head coach Mike Kafka told reporters after Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Packers that it was his decision to hold Carter off the field for the Giants' first defensive series of the game. "It was my decision, we'll keep the rest of that in house." Carter relayed to reporters he "made a mistake" in the week leading up to Sunday's contest but didn't provide further details, per Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News. Carter had just one solo tackle during the loss, but it's unclear whether he'll see his defensive snap count decreased moving forward. The Giants hit the road for Week 12 to take on the Lions on Sunday, Nov. 23.

  • Giants' Abdul Carter: Officially active for Week 7

Carter (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Carter was a late addition to the Giants' injury report Friday due to a hamstring injury. He has gone through pregame warmups without suffering a setback, and the No. 3 overall pick has been cleared to play in Denver. Carter has logged 13 tackles (seven solo), including 0.5 sacks, through the first six regular-season games of his NFL career.

  • Giants' Abdul Carter: Taking part in 11-on-11s

Carter (foot) participated during OTAs on Wednesday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. While there is still no live contact, it's an encouraging sign for Carter that he's on the field with his new team for offseason workouts. It doesn't appear that the stress fracture in his foot that kept him from doing athletic testing during the pre-draft process should impact his availability come the start of the 2025 season. Carter figures to form part of a fearsome three-headed monster on the edge along with two-time Pro Bowler Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux.
