Saints' Barion Brown: Excels in first professional game action
Brown tallied four catches (on four targets) for 53 yards in a preseason loss to Jacksonville on Saturday.
Brown tied for the Saints lead in receptions and finished second on the team in receiving yards behind Bub Means (77 yards). The highlight of Brown's performance was a 28-yard connection down the sideline with Zach Wilson late in the second quarter to help set up a field goal. Brown was taken by New Orleans in the sixth round of April's NFL Draft and had a chance to vie for a significant role among a Saints WR corps that lacks experience behind No. 1 option Chris Olave. New Orleans drafted both Jordyn Tyson (first round) and Bryce Lance (fourth round) ahead of Brown in the draft, but Tyson is looking iffy for Week 1 of the regular season due to a hamstring injury.

Saints' Barion Brown: Standing out at training camp
Brown has been among the Saints' top performers through seven training camp practices, Ross Jackson of Louisianasports.net reports.
Brown provided the highlight of Thursday's practice on a 46-yard touchdown catch from Spencer Rattler in a two-minute situation. The rookie sixth-round pick is building momentum in a Saints receiving corps led by Chris Olave and rookie first-round pick Jordyn Tyson. Brown will likely make his NFL debut Aug. 15 in the Saints' preseason opener against the Jaguars.

Saints' Barion Brown: Bound for New Orleans
The Saints selected Brown in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 190th overall.
Brown is a speedster who can take the top off the defense, compiling 53 catches for 532 yards and one touchdown in his senior season at LSU. He's very thin at 5-foot-11, 177 pounds, and he profiles as more of a sprinter than a polished route runner. Brown will likely be asked to add weight and muscle mass to his frame at the next level, and he'll need to clean up drops -- he totaled 21 drops over four seasons in college. One thing working in Brown's favor is his aptitude as a returner, which could help his case for a 53-man roster spot with the Saints. At receiver, Chris Olave and first-round pick Jordyn Tyson top the team's depth chart, and Devaughn Vele has shown pretty well in his first couple of NFL campaigns, but there is room for Brown to find a home and move up the depth chart if he performs well in camp.
