  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez: Pads stats in garbage time

Rodriguez rushed the ball 15 times for 63 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 29-18 loss to the Eagles. He added one reception on one target for six yards. Rodriguez returned from a one-game absence and tied his season high with both 15 carries and 16 touches. He worked in a relatively even split with Jacory Croskey-Merritt for much of the game, though Rodriguez was able to pad his stats in garbage time. Rodriguez recorded four rushing attempts and accounted for 38 yards and his touchdown on Washington's final possession with the team down three scores. The backfield remains fairly ambiguous heading into a Week 17 matchup against the Cowboys, though both Rodriguez and Croskey-Merritt should retain significant roles.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez: Practicing fully ahead of Week 16

Rodriguez (groin) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice, Ben Standig of Big 100 Washington D.C. reports. Rodriguez went DNP-limited-limited in practice last week and ended up being inactive for Sunday's win over the Giants. However, it now appears he's ready to return to the lineup. Jacory Croskey-Merritt was impressive in Rodriguez's absence, rushing for 82 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries. A more even split of early-down work between Rodrguez and Croskey-Merritt could be coming Saturday against the Eagles.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez: Inactive in Week 15

Rodriguez (groin) is listed as inactive Sunday at the Giants. After being held out of Wednesday's practice due to a groin injury, Rodriguez capped Week 15 prep with back-to-back limited sessions, leaving him questionable for Sunday's game. With his lack of availability now confirmed, Rodriguez's workload from the last five contests (55 touches) likely will be split between Jacory Croskey-Merritt (45 during that span) and Jeremy McNichols (22), while Chase Edmonds also is on hand. Rodriguez's next chance to suit up is next Saturday against the Eagles.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez Jr.: Sleeper RBs

Rodriguez should be considered a flex option in Week 15 with his matchup against the Giants, who are No. 2 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. The Giants have allowed eight running backs to score at least 11 PPR points in their past six games, with seven touchdowns. And the touchdowns matter here for Rodriguez, who has four rushing touchdowns in his past seven games. He's not going to do much in the passing game -- he has one catch for 6 yards on two targets this season -- so he'll need a big yardage game or getting into the end zone. And given the matchup, I'll take the chance on Rodriguez this week in deeper leagues.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez: Questionable for Sunday

Rodriguez (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at the Giants. The Commanders listed Rodriguez as a limited participant Thursday and Friday, after holding him out from Wednesday's session. Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Jeremy McNichols will take on larger roles if Rodriguez is declared inactive before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez: Upgrades to limited Thursday

Rodriguez (groin) was a limited participant at Thursday's practice. Rodriguez didn't practice Wednesday, so Thursday's limited participation marks a step in the right direction. He has received a plurality of touches in Washington's backfield in recent weeks, working slightly ahead of Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Jeremy McNichols. If Rodriguez maintains that role Sunday, he could find success against a vulnerable Giants run defense, but he may need to upgrade to full participation Friday to avoid an injury designation.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez: Hurt by game script in Week 14

Rodriguez gained 52 rushing yards on 10 carries in Sunday's 31-0 loss to the Vikings. As the game got away from the Commanders the rushing attack became less of a factor, hurting Rodriguez's volume despite his healthy 5.2 yards per carry. The third-year back also failed to get into the end zone for only the second time in the last seven games. Jayden Daniels' return from an elbow injury only lasted a little over three quarters Sunday, but Rodriguez has found ways to be productive with Marcus Mariota under center as well, and he might be able to exploit a soft Week 15 matchup against the Giants.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez Jr.: Sleeper RBs

Rodriguez will likely need a touchdown to boost his Fantasy value since he has one catch for 6 yards on two targets for the season. But he's scored a touchdown in three of his past four games, and the Vikings have allowed at least one rushing touchdown to a running back in six games in a row. Rodriguez also has at least 11 carries in three of his past four games, and he's become the primary running back for the Commanders ahead of Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Jeremy McNichols. But we need Rodriguez to find the end zone to be a quality flex option, so hopefully, he gets another chance to score for Washington in this game.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez Jr.: Week 14 Waiver Priority List

Rodriguez scored a touchdown in Week 13 against Denver, and he finished with 11 carries for 41 yards and no catches on one target. He now has a touchdown in three of his past four games, and he has led Washington in carries in his past two outings against the Dolphins and Broncos. He's worth using as a flex option in all leagues in Week 14 at Minnesota, but then he faces the Giants in Week 15, which is a great matchup. Jayden Daniels (elbow) could return soon, which should be a boost for Washington's offense, and Rodriguez is worth adding in all leagues for at least 10 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez: Paces backfield again

Rodriguez rushed the ball 11 times for 41 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-26 overtime loss to the Broncos. He did not record a catch on one target. Rodriguez retained his role as the lead back for the Commanders, with his 11 total touches bettering Jeremy McNichols by three. Rodriguez didn't have a particularly efficient showing, though he did find the end zone from eight yards away shortly before halftime to account for his fourth touchdown in his last six matchups. He now has double-digit rushing attempts in three of his last four matchups heading into a Week 14 contest against the Vikings.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez: Listed as full Thursday

Rodriguez (illness) was listed as full on Thursday's practice report. Rodriguez was held out of drills Wednesday due to an illness, but his return to all listed activity one day later sets him up to be among the Commanders' available running backs Sunday against the Broncos. In the three games prior to the team's Week 12 bye, he recorded double-digit carries two times en route to 33 rushes for 160 yards and two touchdowns and one catch (on one target) for six yards during that span.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez Jr.: RBs to Sit

Rodriguez should be added in all leagues since he looks like the No. 1 running back for Washington heading into Week 13 against Denver. But that doesn't mean you have to start Rodriguez in the majority of leagues. The Broncos are No. 4 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and Denver should be able to contain Rodriguez in this matchup. Prior to Washington's bye in Week 12, Rodriguez had a touchdown in two of his past three games and had 15 carries for 79 yards and one catch for 6 yards on one target in Week 11 at Miami. He offers little in the passing game -- his reception against the Dolphins was his first of the season -- so if he doesn't score, then his Fantasy production will be minimal. And the Broncos have allowed just six rushing touchdowns to running backs this year.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez: Dealing with illness

Rodriguez missed Wednesday's practice with an illness. Rodriguez likely will have time to recover before Sunday's game against Denver. Workload uncertainty is the greater concern for fantasy, with Jeremy McNichols presumably still handling passing downs and Jacory Croskey-Merritt a threat for carries. Rodriguez replaced Croskey-Merritt as the lead runner in Washington's past two games, but the latter still has had a significant role off the bench.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez Jr.: Week 13 Adds (RB Preview)

While Neal is only startable in full PPR, Rodriguez is only a good flex in non-PPR. In the Commanders' most recent game he had 15 carries for 79 yards and he has scored a rushing touchdown in three of his last five games. If he holds on to this role he could be a great start in the first round of the Fantasy playoffs against the Giants.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez Jr.: Stashes (RB Preview)

Rodriguez is on bye this week, but he pretty clearly looks like the lead back in Washington and could be a high-end flex in the Fantasy playoffs. With all the other options available on the waiver wire, he may be close to free this week. He gets the Giants in Week 15 and the Cowboys in Week 17.
... See More ... See Less
  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez Jr.: Week 12 Waiver Priority List

Rodriguez took over the Washington backfield in Week 11 at Miami in Madrid, and he should continue in that role after the Commanders' bye in Week 12. He's worth adding in all leagues for at least 5 percent of your remaining FAB. Against the Dolphins, Rodriguez had 15 carries for 79 yards and one catch for 6 yards on one target. Even prior to Week 11, Rodriguez had 18 carries for 81 yards and two touchdowns combined against Seattle and Detroit, and he didn't finish the Lions game in Week 10 with a shoulder injury. He doesn't offer much in the passing game, and we'll see what happens after the bye with Jayden Daniels (elbow). But in this role, Rodriguez can be at least a flex option in the majority of leagues for the rest of the season.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez: Leading rusher in Sunday's OT loss

Rodriguez carried the ball 15 times for 79 yards and caught his only target for six yards in Sunday's 16-13 overtime loss to the Dolphins. The third-year RB took the lead in the Washington backfield, getting 16 touches to Jacory Croskey-Merritt's 10 and out-gaining the rookie 85 scrimmage yards to 33. The workload and yardage total were also season highs for Rodriguez, and he's making a solid case to break out of the Commanders' committee and take over the clear No. 1 job on the other side of the team's Week 12 bye. Rodriguez has already set new career highs with 60 carries for 279 rushing yards and three TDs through nine games.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez: Opens Week 11 with full practice

Rodriguez (shoulder) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. Rodriguez was forced out of Washington's loss to the Lions in Week 10 early due to a shoulder injury, but he already appears back to full health as the Commanders prepare to face off against the Dolphins in Madrid on Sunday. Prior to departing versus Detroit, Rodriguez rushed six times for 16 yards and one touchdown. Barring any setbacks, expect Rodriguez to again split backfield opportunities with Jacory Croskey-Merritt versus Miami.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez: Injures shoulder Sunday

Rodriguez hurt his shoulder during Sunday's game versus the Lions. Rodriguez jogged to the locker room in the second half and eventually was termed questionable to return. If he stays off the field, he'll end Week 10 action with six carries for 16 yards and one touchdown while getting no targets in the passing game. Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Jeremy McNichols are the healthy and available running backs on the Commanders' active roster.
