• Bills' Greg Rousseau: Breaks sack streak in loss

  Rotowire Oct 7, 2026

Rousseau logged four tackles (two solo) and two passes defensed in the Bills' 29-26 loss to the Patriots on Sunday. Rousseau notched 2.0 sacks in each of the first three games of the 2026 regular season. The outside linebacker's historic streak concluded in Week 4, when he was unable to log any sacks over 81 percent of the Bills' defensive snaps. The Bills' lack of defensive pressure against quarterback Drake Maye was a key component in the outcome of the early-season divisional matchup.

• Bills' Greg Rousseau: Logs third consecutive two-sack performance

  Rotowire Sep 30, 2026

The linebacker has had a stunning breakout since switching to coach Jim Leonhard's 3-4 defense. The 26-year-old is entering his sixth NFL season and has begun to make a compelling case that should put him on Defensive Player of the Year ballots if he can keep producing throughout the season.

Rousseau was dominant in the season opener, racking up two of the Bills' three sacks of C.J. Stroud. His four solo tackles were also tied for the third most on the team. The 2021 first-round pick will look to build off this strong performance and keep producing during the Week 2 matchup versus Detroit on Thursday.

  Rotowire Feb 3, 2026

Rousseau recorded 46 total tackles (24 solo), including 7.0 sacks, two passes defensed and one forced fumble over 16 regular-season contests in 2025. The 2021 first-round pick from Miami has emerged as Buffalo's best pass rusher, leading the team in sacks each of the past two seasons. Since entering the league, Rousseau has recorded 7.0-or-more sacks in three of his five campaigns, proving to be one of the league's most consistent pass rushers. Additionally, he wreaked havoc during Buffalo's two playoff games, recording eight total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and two passes defensed. Under contract through the 2029 season, Rousseau is expected to remain the Bills' top edge rusher in 2026.

• Bills' Greg Rousseau: Ready to rock

  Rotowire Jan 15, 2026

Rousseau (back) has no injury designation ahead of Saturday's divisional-round matchup against the Broncos. The 2021 first-round pick from Miami practiced in a limited capacity throughout the week, but it now appears he's moved past his back injury in time to play in the divisional round. Rosseau is coming off an impressive performance in the Bills' wild-card win over the Jaguars, recording six total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and one pass defensed over 44 defensive snaps. Now fully healthy, he's expected to start opposite Joey Bosa during Saturday's playoff contest.

Rousseau finished the 2025-26 regular season with 46 tackles (24 solo), including 7.0 sacks, along with two defensed passes, a forced fumble and a blocked kick over 16 games. Rousseau continued to be a steady presence along the Bills' defensive line, pacing the team with 7.0 sacks -- a mark he's reached in three of his past four campaigns. He didn't play in Week 18 as Buffalo elected to rest multiple starters, but Rousseau should be primed for the team's wild-card matchup against Jacksonville this Sunday after staying mostly healthy throughout the regular season.

Rosseau played 35 of 51 defensive snaps during the Bills' Week 1 win over the Ravens and finished with three solo tackles and a pass defense. He may have picked up a knee injury during the victory, but he'll have two more chances to log a full practice and avoid an injury tag heading into Sunday's AFC East clash against the Jets.

• Bills' Greg Rousseau: Monster outing in win

  Rotowire Nov 4, 2024

Rousseau recorded seven total tackles (four solo), including 1.0 sacks and an additional two tackles for loss, in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Dolphins. The fourth-year pro wreaked havoc on the Dolphins' offensive line in Sunday's win, as he was the only Bill to take down Tua Tagovailoa while also logging an additional two tackles for loss. Rousseau is having one of the best seasons of his young career through nine games, recording 33 total tackles, including 4.5 sacks, and two passes defended. He's expected to continue causing problems for opposing offenses as the Bills face the Colts in Week 10.

• Bills' Greg Rousseau: Bats down two passes Sunday

  Rotowire Oct 29, 2024

Rousseau recorded four tackles (three solo) and two passes defensed during Sunday's 31-10 win at Seattle. Rousseau's production in the sack column has dried up since he tallied 3.0 sacks in Week 1 versus the Cardinals, but he proved Sunday he can still make an impact without getting to the quarterback. He'll be after Tua Tagovailoa when Buffalo hosts the Dolphins in Week 9.

• Bills' Greg Rousseau: Has monster start to year

  Rotowire Sep 9, 2024

Rousseau recorded six tackles (all solo) including 3.0 sacks, and a forced fumble during Sunday's 34-28 win versus the Cardinals. One of his sacks in Week 1 came on a foot race to the sideline with Kyler Murray, whose exceptional speed Rousseau was basically able to match after shedding right tackle Jonah Williams (knee). It's a dynamite start for a player looking for the first double-digit sack season of his career. He'll be pursuing Tua Tagovailoa when the Bills trek to Miami in Week 2.

• Bills' Greg Rousseau: Ready for next step?

  Rotowire Apr 21, 2024

Rousseau completed the 2023 regular season with 42 tackles (including 5.0 sacks), four passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Rousseau saw a career-high snaps on defense (558), so perhaps it's a bit disappointing that he fell eight tackles short of his rookie season and 3.0 sacks short of the career-high 8.0 he posted in 2022. With the playoff perennial Bills facing so much turnover on both sides of the ball, the 2021 first-rounder may be expected to hit another gear if the team is to take a fifth straight AFC East title. A.J. Epenesa has already proven capable of helping Rousseau with the pass rush on the other side of the line, but everyone could gain if Von Miller, who's missed significant time the past two seasons, can consistently spark the pass rush.

• Bills' Greg Rousseau: Misses practice Wednesday

  Rotowire Oct 4, 2023

Rousseau (foot) did not participate at practice Wednesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports. It's not clear whether he picked up the injury during the week or during Sunday's game versus the Dolphins. It's also not clear whether his status for Week 5 is actually in any jeopardy, so it will be worth keeping an eye on Buffalo's injury reports Thursday and Friday.

• Bills' Greg Rousseau: Two sacks in win

Rousseau had three tackles including two sacks in Sunday's 48-20 win over the Dolphins. The defensive front should soon receive even more support with Von Miller (knee) returning to practice this week.

• Bills' Greg Rousseau: Makes strides in second season

  Rotowire Feb 20, 2023

Rousseau finished the 2022 regular season with 37 tackles, eight sacks, four passes defended and one forced fumble over 13 games. The 8.0 sacks -- which co-led the team with Von Miller -- is the number that sticks out the most considering Rousseau missed time with an ankle injury and also that the Bills typically rotate their defensive linemen more than most teams. He also stepped it up after Miller was lost for the season with a knee injury. Rousseau has mammoth size and has now proven a knack for getting after the quarterback, so he could be relied upon for more in the 2023 season, as the Bills have some cap issues and likely won't be able to run as deep as they have the last two seasons.

• Bills' Greg Rousseau: Ruled out for Sunday

  Rotowire Nov 11, 2022

Rousseau (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Vikings, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports. Rousseau suffered a high-ankle sprain in a Week 9 matchup with the Jets, missing the second half of that contest. The 22-year-old defensive end has recorded 21 total tackles so far this season, and his five sacks are good for the second-highest total on Buffalo's formidable defense. In Rousseau's absence, A.J. Epenesa and Shaq Lawson should see increased playing time.
