  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Hits both FG attetmpts Thursday

Moody went 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts with no point-after tries in Thursday's 12-6 loss to the Rams. Moody was the only 49ers' player to record any points in Thursday's low-scoring affair. The sophomore kicker set a new career best in FGs made (22) at a 79 percent clip through 11 games. With San Francisco falling apart at the end of the campaign, Moody checks in as a mid-tier kicking option in Week 16 against the Dolphins.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Scores eight points Sunday

Moody nailed his only field-goal attempt from 23 yards out while going 5-for-5 on point-after tries in Sunday's 38-13 win over the Bears. Moody had a much smoother experience at home in sunny Santa Clara, CA compared to last week's two-miss game on the road against Buffalo. The sophomore leg has now gone 20-for-26 on field-goal attempts while hitting 100 percent of his PATs in 10 active games this season. Moody and the 49ers remain at home on a short week for a pivotal NFC West matchup against the Rams on Thursday.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Struggles in snow storm

Moody went 1-for-3 on field-goal attempts while hitting his only point-after try in Sunday's 35-10 loss to the Bills. Moody missed multiple attempts for the second time in four weeks, shanking kicks from 45 and 55 yards out. The kicker's last blunder-filled outing came in calm conditions, but a harsh snow storm in Buffalo was likely the culprit this time around. The sophomore has missed just one FGA in his seven other active games this season, leading to a decent 76 percent make rate through nine total contests. Moody should resume his consistent play with a pair of home tilts on tap in sunny Santa Clara, CA, starting with the Bears this coming Sunday.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Scores four points Sunday

Moody went 1-for-1 on field-goal attempts and 1-for-1 on extra-point tries in Sunday's 38-10 loss to Green Bay. Moody only received two kicking opportunities in the lopsided defeat sans starting quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder). San Francisco's kicker hasn't missed a kick since his horrific Week 10, but his low usage has dampened his fantasy value. Moody and the 49ers will stay on the road to face the Bills in the snow next Sunday.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Set to return Sunday

Moody (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game in Tampa Bay. The 49ers have cycled through three kickers this season -- also, Matthew Wright (shoulder) and Anders Carlson -- due to injuries. Moody kicked off Week 10 prep with back-to-back limited sessions but practiced in full Friday, so he's been cleared to return for the first time since he sustained a right high-ankle sprain during a Week 5 loss to the Cardinals.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Opens week as limited

Moody (ankle) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Moody suffered a high-ankle sprain during the 49ers' Week 5 loss to the Cardinals, which caused him to miss the last three games. With the 49ers coming out of a Week 9 bye, Moody was able to return to practice Wednesday, albeit with a cap on his reps. If he's able to advance to full participation in practice by Friday, it would bode well for Moody's chances of playing Sunday against the Buccaneers. Moody has converted 13 of 14 field-goal attempts and 12 of 12 extra-point tries through five outings this season.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Won't play Week 8

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Moody (ankle) won't play in next Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. The 49ers have a Week 9 bye, so Moody will get another two weeks to heal from his right ankle sprain. Anders Carlson will again kick for San Francisco after he made both of his field-goal attempts (from 55 and 24 yards) against Kansas City. Carlson, however, missed his one extra-point try.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Out again in Week 7

Moody (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Moody sustained a right high-ankle sprain Week 5 against the Cardinals, and coach Kyle Shanahan said afterward that the kicker would require roughly a month to recover from the injury. Consequently, it's no surprise that Moody is missing a second game in a row, and the 49ers will be using a third kicker in as many contests this weekend after Matthew Wright emerged from Week 6 with shoulder and back issues that will require an IR stint. Anders Carlson, who is on San Francisco's practice squad, is lined up to handle placekicking duties Sunday and potentially beyond that point.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Could face month-long absence

San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said Tuesday that he expects Moody to miss "about a month" due to a right high-ankle sprain, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. While Shanahan admitted that Moody's recovery timeline is still somewhat hazy, the kicker could be a candidate for injured reserve if the 49ers determine that he'll need at least four games to recover. At the very least, the 49ers will be without Moody for a few weeks, with his injury prompting the team to bring in five kickers for a tryout Monday. The 49ers ultimately signed Matthew Wright, and he'll take over as the team's kicker beginning with Thursday's game against the Seahawks.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Diagnosed with high-ankle sprain

Moody suffered a high-ankle sprain during Sunday's 24-23 loss to the Cardinals, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. He converted both of his extra-point tries and both of his field-goal attempts before leaving the contest. Moody's right ankle was bent under him while he made a tackle during a kickoff in the second quarter of Sunday's game. He was carted to the locker room, where further tests revealed a high-ankle sprain for the 24-year-old kicker. With the 49ers facing the Seahawks on Thursday, San Francisco may have to hold placekicker tryouts early in the week before settling on a replacement for Moody, who could miss multiple games with the injury.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Ruled out of Week 5

Moody (ankle) won't return to Sunday's game versus the Cardinals, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. On a kickoff in the second quarter, Moody was the tackler on the play in question, got his right ankle bent under him and eventually was carted from the sideline to the locker room. With Moody's status confirmed for the rest of Week 5, the 49ers will entrust kicking duties to punter Mitch Wishnowsky. The team also will be operating on a short week in advance of Thursday's visit to Seattle, so tryouts for a temporary placekicker may be in the offing early this week.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Hurts right ankle Sunday

Moody left Sunday's game against the Cardinals due to a right ankle injury, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Moody was forced to make a tackle of Arizona returner DeeJay Dallas on a kickoff in the second quarter, and the former suffered an ankle injury in the process. While the second-year kicker was able to hop to the sideline, Moody then was carted to the locker room. Kyle Juszczyk was seen practicing kicks on the sideline, indicating he's the emergency kicker in the event Moody doesn't return.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Drops 20 points in Week 1

Moody converted six-of-six field-goal attempts and both of his point-after tries in Monday's 32-19 win over the Jets. The 49ers' offense moved the ball well Monday while struggling to finish off drives, providing ample opportunities for Moody to post a monster fantasy score. The 2023 third-round pick made 84 percent of his field-goal attempts as a rookie and is off to a tremendous start following his Week 1 output. Moody should be considered a strong fantasy option heading into Sunday's tilt against the Vikings.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Overcomes early shank

Moody went 2-for-3 on field-goal attempts and 4-for-4 on extra-point tries in the 49ers' 34-31 victory over the Lions in Sunday's NFC Championship Game. Moody's day got off to a rocky start when he shanked a 48-yard attempt wide right on the 49ers' opening possession. The rookie settled in thereafter, converted his next six kicks -- including field goals of 43 and 33 yards -- without issue, helping his squad advance to the Super Bowl. Moody will likely be the more affordable option between he and the Chiefs' Harrison Butker in DFS showdown contests for the Feb. 11 Super Bowl matchup with Kansas City, given the latter's playoff experience and superior field-goal percentage in 2023.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Kicker to Sit

Moody has topped seven Fantasy points just twice in his past six games, and this could be another down game for him against the Rams in Week 18. The 49ers are expected to rest several starters, including Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey, and scoring chances could be scarce. The Rams also have allowed just one kicker to score more than seven Fantasy points in their past six games.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Converts all attempts Thursday

Moody made his only field-goal attempt from 32 yards out and went 4-for-4 on point-after tries in Thursday's 31-13 win over Seattle. Moody barely broke a sweat on his five kicks Thursday, as his only field-goal attempt wound up being a shorter kick than his four successful PATs. The end result was another clean outing for the rookie, who has converted 85 percent of his field goals (17-for-20) and all 37 of his extra-point attempts through 11 games this season. Moody will be one of the new faces introduced to a developing rivalry between NFC powerhouses when the 49ers visit the Eagles on Dec. 3.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Accounts for nine points

Moody went 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts and 3-for-3 on point-after tries in Sunday's 27-14 win over the Buccaneers. Moody kept things rolling with his second perfect kicking performance with multiple field goals made in as many weeks. The rookie's season has mirrored that of his new club, as the Michigan product got off to a blazing start before hitting the skids mid-season. Just like the 49ers, Moody used the bye week as a reset and has since railed off two strong fantasy kicking lines. He will be shooting for a third when San Francisco heads north to face Seattle on Thursday Night Football in Week 12.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: First miss leads to first team loss

Moody went 1-for-3 on field-goal attempts and 2-for-2 on extra-point attempts in Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Browns. Moody's perfect stretch to begin his pro career finally came to an end following after missing two crucial kicks in Week 6's loss to Cleveland. The rookie placekicker missed the first and last of his three attempts Sunday. The first miss came early in the contest from 54 yards out, but it was his final miss on a 41-yard attempt that stands out after his team lost by just two points. Moody will have to shake off his first rough outing in the pros and attempt to bounce back when the 49ers face the Vikings on Monday Night Football in Week 7.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Limited to PATs on Sunday

Moody went 6-for-6 on point-after tries without attempting a field goal in Sunday's 42-10 win over the Cowboys. Moody finished without a field-goal attempt for the second consecutive week after converting nine attempts over the 49ers' first three games. The rookie kicker stayed perfect by converting PATs on each of San Francisco's six touchdown drives Sunday. Moody should be considered a startable fantasy option against Cleveland this Sunday after successfully converting all 29 of his kicking opportunities through five weeks.

  • 49ers' Jake Moody: Hits five PATs

Moody did not attempt a field goal and converted all five of his point-after tries in Sunday's 35-16 win over the Cardinals. The 49ers' offense did not falter in the red zone Sunday, leaving little work for Moody in a comfortable win. The third-round rookie was fresh off of three straight 12-point performances, so this feels like a down fantasy game through no fault of his own. Moody will attempt to maintain his perfect kicking percentage when the 49ers face the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football in Week 5.
