    The Jets have agreed to a one-year deal with Mitchell, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Mitchell is re-signing with the Jets as a depth piece on the offensive line. The 26-year-old has spent all four of his previous NFL seasons with New York, starting in 17 total games in his career.

    Mitchell is questionable to return to Saturday's preseason game against the Giants after sustaining a shoulder injury, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports. Mitchell had been dealing with the shoulder injury early in the game before exiting in the second quarter, per Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. Mitchell played in 14 games (including seven starts) for the Jets last season, and he is currently slated as the backup right tackle on the depth chart behind Morgan Moses.

    Mitchell (illness) practiced Tuesday at OTAs, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. Mitchell was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list last December due to blood clots in his calf and lung, but it appears he's moved past the potentially career-ending issue and is healthy to start offseason workouts. The undrafted offensive tackle out of Louisiana should compete for a reserve role in 2023.
