The Packers signed Krieg to the practice squad Wednesday.
The Packers waived Krieg back in late July and cleared waivers. The German-born kicker came to the NFL through the International Player Pathway program but was not comparable to rookie kicker Trey Smack. Krieg will provide good depth behind the young kicker, if Smack ever needs to miss time due to injury.

Krieg was waived by the Packers on Thursday, Bill Huber of SI.com reports.
The kicker was cut to make room for long snapper Cal Adomitis, who signed with the Packers to fill the role while Matthew Orzech (calf) remains sidelined. Krieg was supposed to compete with Trey Smack for the No. 1 kicker role in training camp, but, at least for the moment, Smack is now the only kicker left on the roster. Krieg might come back when Green Bay decides between Orzech and Adomitis for the snapper position, per Huber.

The Packers signed Krieg to a one-year contract Tuesday, Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated reports.
The German-born kicker made his way to the NFL through the International Player Pathway program but has yet to appear in an NFL regular-season game. Krieg has spent time as a reserve kicker for the Falcons and Jets, and will now take on a familiar role by pushing No. 1 kicker Trey Smack to his best in training camp.

The kicker agreed to a reserve/future contract with New York in January, but the team has since signed both Cade York (groin) and Younghoe Koo. York and Koo both have NFL experience, while Krieg has yet to appear in a regular-season game.
