  • Ricky Stromberg: Placed on injured list

The Bears placed Stromberg (undisclosed) on the practice squad injured list Tuesday. Stromberg will now be sidelined for at least the next four weeks. The 24-year-old has yet to appear in a game this season but will look to make his debut once he's healthy.

  • Bears' Ricky Stromberg: Plays Sunday

Stromberg saw action in Sunday's preseason game against the Bills, indicating that he's past the concussion issue that sidelined him in late July. The center played on 33 offensive snaps and five special-teams snaps. Stromberg, a third-round pick of the Commanders in 2023, has appeared in just four regular-season games through two NFL seasons. While Drew Dalman is projected to start for Chicago, Stromberg can compete for the backup role with 2022 sixth-round pick Doug Kramer.

  • Bears' Ricky Stromberg: Enters concussion protocol

Stromberg entered the concussion protocol Thursday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports. If the center is diagnosed with a concussion, he will need to go through the NFL's five-step recovery process before returning to the field. Stromberg, a third-round pick of the Commanders in 2023, has appeared in just four regular-season NFL games between Washington and Chicago across two seasons. He probably needs to be available during training camp to have a chance to make the roster behind starter Drew Dalman.

  • Ricky Stromberg: Agrees to settlement

The Commanders waived Stromberg (undisclosed) off injured reserve with an injury settlement Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Stromberg was in line to miss all of 2024 after he was placed on IR in late August, but he and the Commanders were able to agree on an injury settlement Monday. Once the 2023 third-round pick out of Arkansas is past his injury, he'll be free to find work elsewhere.

Stromberg (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports. The rookie offensive lineman out of Arkansas missed last week's contest after he suffered a knee injury during the Commanders' Week 8 loss to the Eagles, and he's since been placed on IR. Stromberg had appeared in only four games this season, playing a total of 28 snaps (26 on offense and two on special teams).

Stromberg hurt his knee during Sunday's Week 8 game against Philadelphia and won't return to the contest, John Keim of ESPN.com reports. Stromberg's injury occurred on an extra-point try in the first quarter. The lineman had to be helped off the field and wasn't able to put any weight on his right leg, per Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post.
