  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Contrarian DFS Play

Charbonnet was terribly inefficient on his way to 17.9 PPR Fantasy points and now he's gotten a price bump because of the production. I would expect that will make him unpopular in Week 3 despite the fact he faces a Dolphins defense that was just gashed by James Cook. With Skylar Thompson at QB for the Dolphgins I expect Seattle to be playing from ahead, and Charbonnet to top 20 touches.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Notches second TD

Charbonnet rushed 14 times for 38 yards and a touchdown and caught all five targets for 31 yards in Sunday's 23-20 overtime win versus the Patriots. Charbonnet started with Kenneth Walker (oblique) inactive, and he took advantage of the opportunity by scoring his second touchdown of the season while also featuring as a pass-catcher. His inefficiency was concerning, especially after turning eight carries into 12 yards last week, but his volume remains intriguing for fantasy purposes. It's unclear if Walker will be ready for a Week 3 clash against the Dolphins. Charbonnet figures to carry a heavy burden again if Walker's unable to go.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Sleeper RBs

Charbonnet is expected to start in Week 2 with Kenneth Walker III (abdomen) listed as doubtful at New England. That makes Charbonnet a No. 2 running back in all leagues, and he has top-20 upside. Last week, Charbonnet had eight carries for 12 yards and caught two of three targets for 29 yards and a touchdown against Denver in the game where Walker was injured. Charbonnet would have the potential for 20 total touches in place of Walker, and Seattle will likely lean on Charbonnet as a workhorse running back, which we like.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Looks positioned as Week 2 starter

Charbonnet appears set to start Sunday's road matchup against the Patriots with Kenneth Walker (oblique) listed as doubtful for Week 2, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Charbonnet suited up for two games sans Walker as a rookie last season, Week 12 versus San Francisco and Week 13 versus Dallas, in which he logged 14 carries and 19 carries, respectively. The 2023 second-round pick will figure to handle a similarly notable workload atop Seattle's backfield if Walker misses Sunday's game against the Patriots, which currently seems more likely than not. Kenny McIntosh also will stand to handle an increased reserve role if Walker misses time, though he didn't log a single offensive snap Week 1.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Week 2 Waiver Priority List

We're waiting to find out the status of Kenneth Walker III (abdomen), and if he's out for Week 2 at New England then Charbonnet would be a must-start running back in all leagues. Charbonnet played behind Walker in Week 1 against Denver and finished with eight carries for 12 yards and caught two of three targets for 29 yards and a touchdown. It's not a bad idea to stash Charbonnet even if Walker plays in Week 2, and Charbonnet is worth adding for 15 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Starter leaves game late

Charbonnet rushed eight times for 12 yards and caught two of three targets for 29 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-20 win over Denver. Charbonnet overcame an undisclosed minor injury to see his usual amount of snaps behind starter Kenneth Walker (abdomen). The latter left Sunday's win in the fourth quarter on his 22nd touch of the contest, which could create a starting opportunity for Charbonnet against the Patriots next Sunday. Managers of the 2023 second-round pick should monitor Walker's status heading into Week 2, and it wouldn't hurt to make a waiver claim for those in leagues in which Charbonnet is on the wire.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Sidesteps injury report

Charbonnet (undisclosed) wasn't listed on the Seattle injury report Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Charbonnet missed practice Aug. 14 due to undisclosed tightness, and while he returned to drills Aug. 20, he wasn't wearing pads during that session. A little more than two weeks later, he was able to handle every on-field rep, indicating his health is up to par for Sunday's season opener versus the Broncos. Charbonnet again will take a back seat to No. 1 back Kenneth Walker in Seattle's offense in the upcoming campaign, a reality that contained him to 141 touches for 671 yards from scrimmage and one rushing touchdown in 16 games as a second-round rookie in 2023.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Week 1 Waiver Priority List

He's missed a lot of practice time with an undisclosed injury, but hopefully Charbonnet is ready for Week 1 against Denver. When healthy, he should work in tandem with Kenneth Walker III, but Charbonnet would be a starter in all leagues if Walker were to miss any time. And Walker has missed two games in each of the past two years.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Dealing with tightness

Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said that Charbonnet did not practice Wednesday due to tightness, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Charbonnet's availability for Saturday's exhibition game against the Titans could be affected by the injury, but the second-year running back doesn't seem to be dealing with anything that should sideline him very long. Kenny McIntosh will get a chance to step into the No. 2 role behind Kenneth Walker if Charbonnet has to miss Saturday's preseason contest.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Two touches in preseason opener

Charbonnet rushed twice for six yards and failed to bring in his only target in the Seahawks' 16-3 preseason win over the Chargers on Saturday night. Charbonnet drew the start due to Kenneth Walker sitting out and was featured on the opening possession, logging a one-yard gain on the Seahawks' first play from scrimmage before drawing a target and recording a five-yard run on consecutive plays later in the drive. Charbonnet appears set to fill a complementary role alongside Walker once again to open the season, one that afforded him 141 touches across 454 snaps from scrimmage over 16 regular-season games in his rookie 2023 campaign.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Complementary role in 2023

Charbonnet finished the 2023 season with 108 rushes for 462 yards and a touchdown and 33 receptions on 40 targets for 209 yards. Charbonnet often played around 50 percent of the offensive snaps in a game, but Kenneth Walker was the clear lead back with 248 touches, 1,164 yards from scrimmage and nine total touchdowns. Despite the lopsided workload split, Charbonnet showed promise as a rookie, especially as a pass-catcher. Moreover, his 4.3 YPC compares well to Walker's 4.1 YPC on about twice the carries, and it's almost certain that Charbonnet could hold up to an increased workload given his size and track record in college. Still, he likely won't see that kind of role as long as Walker is healthy, so Charbonnet projects as a later-round insurance policy in 2024.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

Kenneth Walker III (shoulder) couldn't finish the Week 17 loss against Pittsburgh, and Pete Carroll is upset with his run game overall, saying the "running game element ... has not been part of our team the way we would like it to be." Could we see more of Charbonnet in Week 18 at Arizona? It's a definite possibility, and Charbonnet would be a No. 2 running back in all leagues if Walker is out. The Cardinals are No. 1 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and 16 running backs this season have scored at least 12.7 PPR points against Arizona, including four scoring at least 13.7 PPR points in the past five games. Charbonnet has three games this season with double digits in carries, and he scored at least 12.9 PPR points in two of them. He also just had five catches for 39 yards on five targets against the Steelers in Week 17.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Paces backfield on nine carries

Charbonnet (knee) had nine carries for 44 yards and one reception on as many targets for four yards in Sunday's 28-16 loss to San Francisco. Both of Seattle's top running backs were limited participants in practice this week -- Kenneth Walker with an oblique injury and Charbonnet with a knee bruise. Both players suited up Sunday, and the latter wound up leading the Seahawks in carries and rushing yards while Walker finished with the most combined touches. Charbonnet had operated as Seattle's No. 2 option when Walker was healthy, so the nearly even split in touches Sunday could have been the result of the starter being eased back into action after missing two games to injury. If Charbonnet continues seeing double-digit touches against the Eagles next Monday, then the role increase may be permanent after all. This development would do more damage to Walker's fantasy value in comparison to how much it would raise Charbonnet's.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Active in Week 14

Charbonnet (knee) is listed as active Sunday in San Francisco. Charbonnet suffered a bruised knee in the Seahawks' last game on Nov. 30, and he proceeded to follow a DNP/LP/FP practice routine during Week 14 prep. Fellow running back Kenneth Walker managed the same regimen as Charbonnet, and while both players were questionable for Sunday's contest, Walker will rejoin Charbonnet in the backfield for the first time since Week 11. Considering Walker handled 123 touches versus Charbonnet's 51 in the eight games (Weeks 1-4, 6 and 8-10) in which both were healthy this season, a similar breakdown of reps between the pair likely can be expected Sunday.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Gets back to limited Thursday

Charbonnet (knee) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Both Charbonnet and fellow RB Kenneth Walker (oblique) followed up no activity Wednesday with capped sessions one day later, giving them chances to be available Sunday at San Francisco. Charbonnet took on lead duties out of Seattle's backfield the last two games with Walker sidelined, but the rookie second-rounder also suffered a bruised knee in the fourth quarter last Thursday in Dallas. If either player is limited or out this weekend, there's a chance the Seahawks turn to DeeJay Dallas as their main running back.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: No activity Wednesday

Charbonnet (knee) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Both Charbonnet and fellow running back Kenneth Walker (oblique) were non-participants to begin Week 14 prep, but head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that they took part in an earlier walk-through session, per Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times. Charbonnet filled in for Walker as the Seahawks' lead back in the team's previous two games, combining for 157 yards from scrimmage and the first touchdown of his career on 38 touches. However, the rookie second-round pick made a late exit from last Thursday's loss in Dallas due to a bruised knee. With the state of the team's backfield up in the air, the current healthy backs on the active roster are DeeJay Dallas and Kenny McIntosh, while Bryant Koback and SoRodorick Thompson are on the practice squad.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: RBs to Sit

Charbonnet is dealing with a bone bruise in his knee, but he's expected to play in Week 14 at San Francisco. We don't yet know if Kenneth Walker III (oblique) will play also after he's missed the past two games, and if he's out, then that keeps Charbonnet in the lead role for Seattle. He was solid in Week 13 at Dallas with 19 carries for 60 yards and a touchdown, along with one catch for 39 yards on two targets. But he struggled in Week 12 against San Francisco with 9.8 PPR points on 14 carries for 47 yards and four catches for 11 yards on four targets. Going into San Francisco for the rematch won't be easy for Charbonnet, and the 49ers are No. 5 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs this year.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Diagnosed with bruise

Charbonnet suffered a knee bruise during Thursday's game against Dallas, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Charbonnet exited the contest in the fourth quarter, though it appears that he avoided any significant injury. With nine days to recover until Seattle's next contest, he may be available for a matchup against the 49ers.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Suffers knee injury

Charbonnet suffered a knee injury in Thursday's game against Dallas and is doubtful to return, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Charbonnet was injured in the fourth quarter and spotted in the injury tent. The extent of the issue is unclear, but Seattle is already dealing with an injury in the backfield with Kenneth Walker (oblique) sidelined. Prior to exiting, Charbonnet tallied 99 total yards and a touchdown.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Pacing backfield again

Charbonnet is in line to lead the Seahawks backfield Thursday in Dallas with Kenneth Walker (oblique) inactive, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports. Charbonnet will fill in for Walker for a second consecutive contest after handling the bulk of work afforded Seattle running backs last Thursday against the 49ers. In that outing, he earned a career-high 87 percent snap share and had 18 touches for 58 yards from scrimmage. Charbonnet still is in search of the first touchdown of his career, and his quest for one may be difficult Thursday against a Cowboys defense that has surrendered the eighth-fewest TDs (six) to opposing running backs in 11 games this season.
