  • Colts' Blake Freeland: Placed on IR

Freeland (leg) was placed on injured reserve by the Colts on Monday. The offensive tackle fractured his leg in Saturday's preseason game against the Packers and had to be carted off wearing an air cast. Freeland's 2025 season is now over after he played on just 23 offensive snaps in 2024.

  • Colts' Blake Freeland: Suffers broken leg

Freeland suffered a fractured leg in Saturday's preseason game against the Packers, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports. Freeland was carted off the field after an air cast was placed on the injured leg. It sounds like Freeland will miss significant time, possibly the entire 2025 season. He was a fourth-round pick in the 2023 Draft and appeared in nine regular-season games last season, playing 23 offensive snaps and another 36 on special teams.

  • Colts' Blake Freeland: Carted off field with leg injury

Freeland has been ruled out for the remainder of Saturday's exhibition game against the Packers due to a leg injury, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports. Freeland may be dealing with a serious injury, as he had to be carted off the field with his right leg in an air cast after having his ankle rolled up on. The 2023 fourth-round draft pick had been competing for a depth role at offensive tackle throughout training camp, but the injury could impact his ability to vie for that role. Indianapolis also ruled out fellow tackle Braden Smith due to a groin injury Saturday.

  • Colts' Blake Freeland: Lands in Indy

The Colts selected Freeland in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 106th overall. The BYU product is a tall, athletic tackle prospect at nearly 6-foot-8 with some of the best testing numbers among offensive linemen at the combine. Freeland is somewhat light for his frame at 302 pounds, and defenders can use his height against him at times. Still, Freeland was a third-team All-American performer at left tackle at BYU and should push Bernhard Raimann in camp.
