Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports Kamara suffered a torn ACL. The undrafted free agent out of Indiana will now spend the duration of the 2026 season on IR unless he and the 49ers reach an injury settlement.

The 49ers waived/injured Kamara (knee) on Sunday.
The undrafted free agent out of Indiana was carted off the practice field with a knee issue on Saturday, and it seems the severity of the injury will keep him out of active-roster contention for the 2026 season. When/if Kamara clears waivers, he will revert to the 49ers' injured reserve for the remainder of the season unless an injury settlement is reached.

Kamara (knee) was unable to finish Saturday's practice due to injury, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Kamara needed to be carted off the field due to the issue. The severity of the injury is unclear, but it seems the undrafted free agent out of Indiana has joined much of the 49ers' linebacker corps on the injury list. With the state of the corps, if any young players such as Kamara can recover quickly, they will have an inside track to climbing the depth chart.
