Bears' Kiran Amegadjie: Working as backup at camp
Amegadjie (elbow) is drilling with the second team at left tackle during the Bears' training camp, Alyssa Barbieri of USA Today reports.
Amegadjie was unable to play any snaps in 2025 after being placed on Chicago's injured reserve list with an elbow injury in September, but he's now back in football shape for training camp. He'll continue to compete with 2025 second-rounder Ozzy Trapilo (knee) and Jedrick Wills (knee) for positioning on the 2026 depth chart at tackle.

Amegadjie had been dealing with an elbow injury throughout the past week, though it's unclear when he first picked it up. The 23-year-old will now be forced to miss at least four games before he's eligible to make his return.

Amegadjie (elbow) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys.
Amegadjie downgraded from a limited practice Wednesday to DNPs on Thursday and Friday, suggesting his elbow issue worsened throughout the week. While the Yale product is sidelined in Week 3, Luke Newman is projected to serve as the Bears' top reserve guard.

Amegadjie sat out the team's first exhibition contest versus the Dolphins with a leg injury suffered during practice. In his return against the Bills, the 23-year-old played 33 snaps on offense and five on special teams.
