  • Bears' Kiran Amegadjie: Working as backup at camp

Amegadjie (elbow) is drilling with the second team at left tackle during the Bears' training camp, Alyssa Barbieri of USA Today reports. Amegadjie was unable to play any snaps in 2025 after being placed on Chicago's injured reserve list with an elbow injury in September, but he's now back in football shape for training camp. He'll continue to compete with 2025 second-rounder Ozzy Trapilo (knee) and Jedrick Wills (knee) for positioning on the 2026 depth chart at tackle.

  • Bears' Kiran Amegadjie: Out for Sunday

Amegadjie (elbow) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys. Amegadjie downgraded from a limited practice Wednesday to DNPs on Thursday and Friday, suggesting his elbow issue worsened throughout the week. While the Yale product is sidelined in Week 3, Luke Newman is projected to serve as the Bears' top reserve guard.

  • Bears' Kiran Amegadjie: Sidelined by leg injury

Amegadjie was unable to practice Saturday due to a leg injury, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports. Amegadjie is competing for a role along the Bears' offensive line, though he looks to be losing out to rookie Ozzy Trapilo. There aren't many details about his injury, but any missed time won't help his chances of earning playing time.

  • Bears' Kiran Amegadjie: Inactive for Week 12

Amegadjie (calf) is inactive for Sunday's game against Minnesota. Amegadjie will miss a fourth straight game due to a calf injury. He was able to practice in a limited capacity Friday, and while he won't play Sunday, there is a chance he could be available for the Bears' Week 13 game against the Lions on Thursday, Nov. 28.

  • Bears' Kiran Amegadjie: Missing more time

Amegadije (calf) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Packers. The 2024 third-round pick from Yale has yet to return to practice after sustaining a calf injury in the Bears' Week 8 loss to the Commanders, and he'll now miss his third consecutive game Sunday. Matt Pryor will likely serve as Chicago's third-string left tackle in Amegadije's stead in Week 11.

  • Bears' Kiran Amegadjie: Ruled out for Week 9

Amegadjie (calf) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against Arizona. Amegadjie popped up on the injury report with a calf issue this week, failing to participate at any of the team's three practices ahead of Week 9. With starter Braxton Jones (knee) also ruled out, Matt Pryor will likely draw the start at left tackle versus the Cardinals.

  • Bears' Kiran Amegadjie: Starting camp on NFI list

The Bears placed Amegadjie (quadriceps) on the active/non-football injury list Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Amegadjie was injured prior to the 2024 NFL Draft and missed all of OTAs and minicamp after the Bears selected him in the third round. It's hard to envision Amegadjie pushing Braxton Jones or Darnell Wright for a starting job at offensive tackle this summer after all of the missed reps.

  • Bears' Kiran Amegadjie: Headed home to Chicago

The Bears selected Amegadjie in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 75th overall. A Chicago native out of noted football factory, Yale, Amegadjie is an impressive prospect with a legitimate chance to make the leap to NFL stardom. At 6-foot-5 and 323 pounds with 36-inch arms, Amegadjie has the size and length to stick at tackle on paper. He dominated Ivy League competition but the NFL will be a big step up. He will be just 22 years old for his entire rookie season, and thus, the Bears will not need to rush him onto the field if the starting unit stays intact. In time, look for Amegadjie to challenge for tackle reps in the Windy City.
