  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Returned to minors

Levi was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Monday. In Levi's last four NHL outings, he posted a 1-3-0 record, 4.05 GAA and .873 save percentage. With nobody winning games in Buffalo right now -- the team is 0-7-3 in its last 10 games -- it is understandable that the club would try to make some tweaks, but it appears deploying Levi was not the move.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Gives up four goals Sunday

Levi stopped 36 of 40 shots in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Maple Leafs. The fifth goal was an empty-netter. Levi made his first start since Nov. 16 after being called up from the minors, but he didn't look good. His recent numbers haven't been positive, as Levi has gone 1-3-0 with a 4.05 GAA and an .873 save percentage across his last four appearances at the NHL level. With Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and James Reimer entrenched as the two top options between the pipes, Levi doesn't figure to see a lot of ice time going forward.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Starting in Toronto

Levi will guard the road goal Sunday against the Maple Leafs after being recalled from AHL Rochester, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 27 saves on 30 shots in Saturday's loss to Washington, and James Reimer was the backup. It's unclear why the Sabres brought up Levi, but head coach Lindy Ruff mentioned the lineup will have some game-time decisions. Levi has a 2-5-0 record with a 3.95 GAA and an .870 save percentage in seven NHL outings this season.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Fifth defeat of season Saturday

Levi stopped 27 of 31 shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Flyers. Philadelphia's fifth goal was an empty-netter. Levi made his second straight start with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (undisclosed) sidelined once again, and the results weren't pretty. Levi has posted a sub-.890 save percentage in each of his last five outings, going 1-4-0 with a 4.60 GAA and .846 save percentage in that stretch. Unfortunately for the Sabres, Levi will remain between the pipes until Luukkonen is ready to return, unless the coaching staff decides to give James Reimer an opportunity amid Levi's struggles.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Back in win column

Levi stopped 24 of 27 shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Blues. Levi made his sixth appearance of the season Thursday and picked up his second win in the process. The 22-year-old had lost three consecutive contests before Rasmus Dahlin buried the winning goal in overtime. Levi will be hard to trust due to his lack of consistent playing time -- his last start before Thursday was Nov. 1. The Quebec native is sporting a 2-4-0 record, .870 save percentage and 3.87 GAA.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Draws start Thursday

Levi will be between the pipes for Thursday's home game against St. Louis, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports. Levi operated in the starter's crease during Thursday's practice session, and he'll officially draw the start since Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (undisclosed) will be sidelined. Over five appearances this season, Levi has posted a 1-4-0 record, 4.10 GAA and .866 save percentage.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Tagged with loss Friday

Levi allowed four goals on 36 shots in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Islanders. Levi performed admirably in Friday's loss but didn't receive much help from his teammates in the defensive zone. The 22-year-old's previous outing was a 6-4 loss to Columbus on Oct. 17, so he shouldn't be on the radar of most fantasy managers due to his inconsistent playing time. Levi and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen have struggled early on as Buffalo is off to a sluggish 4-6-1 start. Levi is sporting a 1-3-0 record, an .878 save percentage and a 3.91 GAA through four appearances.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Starting Friday

Levi will protect the home crease versus the Islanders on Friday, according to Heather Engel of NHL.com. Levi will make his fourth start of the campaign and his first since Oct. 17, when he gave up six goals on 25 shots in a 6-4 loss to Columbus. Levi is 1-2-0, allowing 11 goals on 87 shots this season. He will face the Islanders, who have found the back of the net 21 times this season, the lowest in the NHL.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Jumped by Jackets

Levi made 19 saves in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Blue Jackets. The Sabres never led in the game, looking sluggish after their overtime loss to the Penguins on Wednesday and falling into a 2-0 hole before the first intermission. Levi had allowed just five goals on 62 shots in his first two starts of the season, but while the bad night is likely more indicative of the play of his teammates, Columbus clearly had a book on the young netminder and consistently targeted him glove side. Expect Buffalo to turn back to Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen for Saturday's game in Chicago.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Sent to AHL

Levi was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Wednesday. Levi has a 10-8-2 record, 3.10 GAA and .899 save percentage in 23 contests this season. Buffalo was carrying three healthy goaltenders, including Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Eric Comrie, so moving Levi to the minors will allow the 22-year-old to get in some extra work. While the 2023-24 campaign has been far from ideal for Levi, he still has the potential to eventually develop into the Sabres' starting goaltender.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Sharp in relief

Levi stopped 31 of 32 shots after relieving Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen in a 6-2 loss to the Senators on Wednesday. Levi entered the game after Luukkonen allowed four goals in the first 8:49 of the first period. After allowing a goal to Brady Tkachuk late in the frame, Levi would proceed to blank the Senators over the final two periods. Despite the 22-year-old netminder's performance, the Sabres couldn't overcome the early 5-0 deficit, saddling Luukkonen with the loss. While Levi's seen limited action, he's been sharp recently, sporting a .943 save percentage over his last three appearances. Overall, he's 9-8-2 with an .898 save percentage and 3.16 GAA this season.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Takes narrow loss

Levi stopped 31 of 33 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Canucks. Levi was solid behind a Sabres team that didn't have its best play in the second half of a back-to-back. While Levi played well, it's unclear if that will be enough to keep him in the NHL once the Sabres' road trip through Western Canada comes to a close next week. The 22-year-old is at 9-8-2 with a 3.24 GAA and an .894 save percentage over 21 appearances this season. The Sabres continue the trip Thursday in Edmonton, but that game will likely see Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen back between the pipes.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Joining team for road trip

According to Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News, Levi will be recalled from AHL Rochester for the Sabres' upcoming road trip. Buffalo has been relying on Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen to play the majority of the games, as he has started 14 of 16 contests since Levi went down to the minors on Jan. 28. Eric Comrie has not done the job as a backup, making the recall of Levi necessary for the team's upcoming five-game road trip. Levi was outstanding Friday night, stopping 41 shots in a 5-2 Rochester win over Toronto. He should get the start either Monday in Seattle or Tuesday in Vancouver.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Stands tall in win

Levi stopped 37 of 40 shots in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Kings. Levi had a rough first period, giving up all three goals within the first 10 minutes. He settled in from there, and the Sabres' second line fueled a comeback victory. This was Levi's first action since Jan. 9, as Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen has staked a claim to the No. 1 job. Levi improved to 9-7-2 with a 3.30 GAA and an .891 save percentage over 20 appearances. The 22-year-old will likely have to settle for a 50-50 split at best unless he can go on a particularly strong run.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Back in NHL

Levi was summoned from AHL Rochester on Sunday. In a corresponding move, Eric Comrie was returned to the minors. Levi made 14 saves on 17 shots in a 7-3 win over Springfield on Saturday. The 22-year-old netminder has an 8-7-2 record with a 3.32 GAA and an .889 save percentage in 19 NHL appearances this season.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Tending twine Tuesday

Levi will protect the home goal versus the Kraken on Tuesday, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports. Levi will look to build on his win over the Canadiens on Thursday, in which he stopped 32 of 33 shots. It was the first time in five outings he allowed fewer than three goals. The Kraken come into their road trip winners of six straight games, but they've scored just 16 times in that span.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Sunk by Sens

Levi turned aside 26 of 30 shots in Sunday's 5-1 loss to Ottawa. The Senators' final goal was scored into an empty net. Buffalo out-shot Ottawa 46-31 on the night, but Levi got outplayed by Anton Forsberg in the opposite crease, although the young netminder only had a clean look at one of the pucks that beat him. Levi continues to have ups and downs in his first full NHL season -- over eight outings in December he posted a 4-2-1 record with a 2.95 GAA and .900 save percentage.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Starting in Ottawa

Levi will defend the road net Sunday against the Senators, per Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News. Levi is coming off a 21-save effort in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to Boston. In 16 appearances this season, he has provided a 7-5-2 record with a 3.31 GAA and an .889 save percentage. The Senators sit 10th in the league with 3.39 goals per contest this campaign.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Buried by Boston power play

Levi stopped 21 shots in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Bruins. Boston's final three goals all came on the power play, and Levi had little chance on any of them -- Charlie Coyle's second tally of the night even deflected in off Erik Johnson's skate. It's Levi's first regulation loss since Nov. 14. The 22-year-old netminder has put together a solid December with a 2.77 GAA and .906 save percentage while going 4-1-1 over seven appearances.

  • Sabres' Devon Levi: Cruises to win over Toronto

Levi made 24 saves in Thursday's 9-3 rout of the Maple Leafs. The 21-year-old netminder wasn't all that sharp, but he didn't need to be on a night when the ice was tilted so heavily in the Sabres' favor, and the win was a confidence builder after Levi got the hook in the team's last game against the Blue Jackets. Levi hasn't taken a regulation loss since Nov. 14, going 4-0-2 over his last eight appearances with a 2.88 GAA and .903 save percentage, and the youngster may be settling into the No. 1 role in Buffalo.
