Byram registered two even-strength assists in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Islanders. Byram recorded a pair of secondary helpers in the third period of Buffalo's comeback attempt versus New York. The left-shot blueliner offered three shots, one hit, two PIM and a plus-1 rating in 21:49 of ice time. Byram has two multi-point efforts this season, and through 11 games, the 23-year-old is up to one goal, five assists and an even plus-minus rating.

  • Sabres' Bowen Byram: Scores in Saturday's win

Byram scored a goal on four shots in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Red Wings. Byram hasn't found consistent offense this season, though he remains on the Sabres' second pairing. The blueliner has a goal, three assists, eight shots on net, eight hits and 11 blocked shots over nine appearances. Byram's power-play time has dropped in recent games, and that will likely make it tough for him to elevate his offense.

  • Sabres' Bowen Byram: Picks up two assists against Pens

Byram collected two assists in Wednesday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Penguins. It's the first multi-point performance of the season for Byram, who came into the game with just one assist in four contests. The 23-year-old blueliner has the talent befitting the fourth overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, but Byram is behind Rasmus Dahlin (first overall in 2018) and Owen Power (first overall in 2021) in the pecking order for power-play time, limiting his fantasy upside.

  • Sabres' Bowen Byram: Produces assist in loss

Byram logged an assist and blocked three shots in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Devils in Prague. Byram helped out on Owen Power's third-period goal. In addition to the assist, Byram led the Sabres with 24:52 of ice time, more than Power's 23:27 and Rasmus Dahlin's 22:48. All three blueliners are likely to play a big role this season, but Byram has arguably the most to gain after producing a combined 29 points in 73 appearances between the Avalanche and the Sabres last year. Byram is expected to see more consistent power-play usage in 2024-25, which could help him push well beyond the 30-point mark, assuming he can stay healthy.

Byram (personal) is good to play Saturday versus Florida, according to Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News. Byram has 11 goals and 27 points in 71 outings between Colorado and Buffalo in 2023-24. His return will result in Kale Clague being a healthy scratch against the Panthers.

  • Sabres' Bowen Byram: Ruled out against Caps

Byram will not be available versus Washington on Thursday due to a personal matter. Byram remains stuck in a 13-game goal drought during which he registered three assists, nine shots and 24 hits while averaging 21:13 of ice time. • Sabres' Bowen Byram: Lights lamp twice against Detroit

Byram scored two goals on four shots on net while adding two hits and a plus-4 rating in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Red Wings. The 22-year-old blueliner has gotten off to a quick start for his new club. In three games since being traded from the Avalanche to the Sabres, Byram has racked up three goals and four points, and he led Buffalo in TOI on Tuesday at 23:14. The fourth overall pick in the 2019 Draft was stuck in Cale Makar's shadow in Colorado, but Buffalo seems willing to treat Byram as an equal partner to Rasmus Dahlin rather than a sidekick, which bodes well for his fantasy value.

  • Avalanche's Bowen Byram: Iffy versus Detroit

Byram missed Wednesday's morning skate due to an illness and is considered questionable for the evening's matchup with the Red Wings, Marc Moser of Altitude Sports 950 reports. Byram's status for Wednesday night's contest likely won't be confirmed until the Avlanche take the ice for pregame warmups. If Byram is unable to go, Colorado may need to promote a defender from the minors to fill in against Detroit.

Byram's second tied the game 2-2 late in the second frame when he grabbed a loose puck and fired it past Andrei Vasilevskiy. He has put up two, two-point games in a row (two goals, two assists), but Byram has struggled to generate consistent offense this season. Overall, he has eight goals and nine assists in 47 games.

Byram recorded his second multi-point effort of the season with assists on tallies by Artturi Lehkonen and Miles Wood. Byram has 13 points, 52 shots on net, 58 blocked shots, 45 hits, 34 PIM and a minus-4 rating through a career-high 43 outings this season, though he's had no power-play production and could see his spot on the second unit in danger if that doesn't change.

  • Avalanche's Bowen Byram: Sustains lower-body injury

Byram (lower body) won't return to Thursday's game versus the Stars, Savvy Rafkin of The-Rink.com reports. It's unclear what caused Byram's injury, but he was noticeably absent from the bench in the third period. The 22-year-old blocked one shot and went minus-1 over 12:54 of ice time. • Avalanche's Bowen Byram: Coach clarifies injury

Colorado head coach Jared Bednar confirmed the upper-body injury Byram sustained during Tuesday's win over the Ducks is not head related, Evan Rawal of Colorado Hockey Now reports. That's good news for Byram, who has a concussion history. The Avalanche were already without Cale Makar (lower body), which leaves the team thin on the blue line. If neither Byram nor Makar are ready to go for Thursday's home game against the Jets, Sam Malinski, who played Tuesday, and hybrid forward/defenseman Kurtis MacDermid will likely be the fill-ins.
