Posch will serve as the third goaltender for the Avalanche in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs behind Scott Wedgewood and Mackenzie Blackwood. The 24-year-old Posch posted a 15-8-5 record with a 2.78 GAA and an .891 save percentage in 28 regular-season appearances for AHL Colorado in 2025-26.

Posch was reassigned to AHL Colorado by the Avalanche, the team announced Sunday.
Posch had been up as insurance while Scott Wedgewood dealt with a personal issue. Now that Wedgewood has been added back to the roster, Posch is no longer needed at the NHL level and has been sent back to the AHL. The 23-year-old Posch is 12-5-5 with a 2.45 GAA and a .902 save percentage on the season with the Eagles.
