Posch posted a 15-8-5 record with a 2.78 GAA and an .891 save percentage in 28 appearances during the 2025-26 regular season. He will serve as the Avalanche's emergency third goaltender in the playoffs behind Mackenzie Blackwood and Scott Wedgewood.

Posch was reassigned to AHL Colorado by the Avalanche, the team announced Sunday.
Posch had been up as insurance while Scott Wedgewood dealt with a personal issue. Now that Wedgewood has been added back to the roster, Posch is no longer needed at the NHL level and has been sent back to the AHL. The 23-year-old Posch is 12-5-5 with a 2.45 GAA and a .902 save percentage on the season with the Eagles.

In a corresponding move, Scott Wedgewood (personal) was granted non-roster status. Posch was 12-5-3 with a 2.45 GAA and a .902 save percentage across 20 AHL games before his recall.
