  Corbin did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 9-8 extra-inning loss, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out five. The veteran southpaw kept the Cleveland lineup relatively in check during this 90-pitch outing, as he didn't concede an extra-base knock. Corbin gave up two runs on a Johnathan Rodriguez single in the first before being tagged with another run on a Bo Naylor sacrifice fly in the third. The 37-year-old concludes his season with a 4.40 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 131:51 K:BB across 155.1 total frames.

• Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Short start Tuesday

  Corbin (7-11) took the loss Tuesday against the Twins, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two in 3.2 innings. Corbin got through two innings unscathed, but the Twins were able to get to him in the third with two runs on four hits. Corbin's day was done at 65 pitches after a walk in the fourth and he's now failed to reach five innings in four of his last seven starts. The Rangers have officially fallen out of playoff contention and presumably will roll Corbin out once more this weekend for a start against the red-hot Guardians. Corbin's now at a 4.34 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 126:49 K:BB in 151.1 innings.

• Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Inefficient in no-decision

  Corbin came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Mets, allowing one unearned run on six hits and two walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out five. The veteran lefty did generate 16 swinging strikes among his 85 pitches (52 total strikes), but Corbin got the hook in the fifth inning after a Cody Freeman throwing error helped bring home the game's first run. Corbin's failed to last five innings in five of eight starts since the beginning of August, laboring to a 5.59 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 31:15 K:BB over 37 innings during that stretch. With Tyler Mahle (shoulder) closing in on his return from the IL and Jacob Latz pitching well of late, the Rangers' rotation plans are a little murky, but if Corbin remains on schedule he'll take the mound at home next weekend against the Marlins.

• Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Falls short of quality start

  Corbin didn't factor into the decision Sunday against Houston, allowing one run on three hits and one walk with five strikeouts across 5.2 innings. Corbin fell one out short of his second quality start in his last 11 appearances, getting pulled with two outs in the fifth inning after 82 pitches. The left-hander has been volatile recently, having allowed four or more runs in three of his last five starts, including Sunday's outing. He threw eight shutout innings against the Angels in the other start. He'll take a 4.36 ERA into his next start, which is slated to come against the Mets.

• Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Yields three homers in no-decision

  Corbin allowed five runs on five hits and a walk while striking out five over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Monday. Corbin gave up three solo home runs over the first two innings. He hadn't allowed multiple homers in a start since May 25 versus the White Sox, though he has now given up seven long balls over his last six starts. Corbin posted a 7.17 ERA over 21.1 innings in August and is off to a similarly rough beginning in September. For the season, he's at a 4.48 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 114:44 K:BB through 136.2 innings over 26 starts. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Astros this weekend.
