Corbin didn't factor into the decision Thursday against Kansas City, allowing four runs on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out three. Corbin surrendered a homer to Hunter Renfroe in the second inning before the Royals tacked on three more runs with five straight singles in the third. The left-hander's now allowed 17 runs in over his last 21.2 innings. Corbin will wrap up the season at 6-13 with a 5.62 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 139:54 K:BB across 32 starts (174.2 innings).

Corbin did not factor into the decision in a loss to the Cubs on Thursday, allowing five runs on eight hits and one walk over 4.1 innings while striking out four. Corbin struggled against the Cubs' lineup, giving up one run on three singles in the opening frame before coughing up a two-run homer in the third. He was later relieved by Derek Law with one out in the fifth after Corbin allowed the first three batters to reach. The veteran lefty did generate 12 swings and misses on the night, but the outing marked the first time he's failed to make it through five innings since Aug. 16 against the Phillies, a span of five starts. He carries a 6.14 ERA in September through four outings to go along with a strong 23:5 K:BB.

Corbin (6-13) earned the win against the Marlins on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and one walk with six strikeouts over six innings. Corbin tossed three 1-2-3 innings and allowed just one extra-base hit while generating 11 whiffs on 94 pitches. While he endured a seven-run disaster last Sunday, the southpaw has yielded two earned runs or fewer in four of his past five outings with three quality starts. On the season, he owns a 5.45 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 132:52 K:BB across 165 innings and lines up to face the Cubs next week.

Corbin (5-13) took the loss Sunday, allowing seven runs on 10 hits over six innings against the Pirates. He struck out five. Corbin entered the contest having allowed three runs total while accumulating wins in each of his last three starts but allowed four runs in the first and seven total over his six-inning performance. The seven runs allowed represented the second time since mid-June that he's allowed more than four runs in a start. Corbin's next opportunity to eat innings for the Nationals is tentatively slated to take place at home against the Marlins.

Corbin (5-12) earned the win Tuesday over the Marlins, allowing two runs on seven hits and three walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out eight. It's the third straight win for Corbin, who's allowed just three runs over 17.2 innings while racking up 22 strikeouts in that span -- the left-hander had struggled to an 8.51 ERA in his previous five outings. Overall, Corbin's lowered his ERA to 5.41 on the year with a 1.52 WHIP and 121:51 K:BB across 153 innings. He'll look to keep the momentum going in his next start, currently scheduled for this weekend in Pittsburgh.
