  • Wilson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Dodgers. Wilson continues to occupy a reserve role, though his playing time has picked up a bit with the Phillies' middle infield stretched thin by the absences of Trea Turner (hamstring) and Edmundo Sosa (groin). Most of Wilson's playing time has come in a short-side platoon role at a variety of positions. He's now at a .202/.276/.393 slash line with five homers, 15 RBI, 13 runs scored and one stolen base over 98 plate appearances this season.

  • Phillies' Weston Wilson: Sent to Triple-A
    By RotoWire

The Phillies optioned Wilson to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Thursday. Wilson was on the roster primarily to hit left-handed pitching, but he's being sent down after going just 5-for-29 versus southpaws. Buddy Kennedy was called up from Triple-A to take over Wilson's spot on the roster.

  • Wilson was removed from Wednesday's game against the Rockies due to a migraine, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. Wilson went 0-for-1 with a walk before coming out of the game in the fourth inning. The 30-year-old outfielder has turned in a .762 OPS while working in the short side of a platoon in left field, and he shouldn't require an extended absence.

  • Wilson (oblique) will continue his rehab assignment at Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday. Wilson, who has yet to make his season debut with Philadelphia after suffering a left oblique strain in spring training, appeared in four games with Single-A Clearwater last week, going 1-for-10 with four walks, a stolen base and four runs. Per MLB.com, Wilson is scheduled to play nine innings at second base Tuesday, and he could get some exposure to the corner outfield later on in the week while he's with Lehigh Valley. Once activated from the 10-day injured list, Wilson will likely fill a utility role for the big club.

  • Wilson (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Clearwater on Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. Wilson suffered a left oblique strain back in late February and is finally ready to test things out in a game setting. Given how much time he's missed, he's likely to require a handful of rehab games before rejoining the Phillies' active roster.
