• Phillies' Bryson Stott: Handling everyday reps

  Stott went 2-for-3 with a walk and a double in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks. With Trea Turner (hamstring) and Edmundo Sosa (groin) both on the injured list, Stott has started each of Philadelphia's last eight games to help pick up the slack. Stott had a weak .645 OPS through July 30, but he's fared far better at the dish ever since. Over his last 150 plate appearances, he's slashing .321/.393/.519 with 15 extra-base hits, 24 RBI, 21 runs scored and seven stolen bases to raise his OPS to .719 for the year.

• Phillies' Bryson Stott: Back to bench versus lefty

  Stott is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets. The left-handed-hitting Stott made a rare start against a lefty Tuesday, but he will retreat back to the bench Thursday as the Mets send southpaw David Peterson to the bump. Weston Wilson is at second base for the Phillies in what will be just his fourth-ever start at the keystone at the big-league level.

  Stott is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. The left-handed-hitting Stott will hit the bench for the third time in five games, with all of his absences coming against southpaws. Edmundo Sosa will step in for Stott at the keystone while the Orioles send lefty Trevor Rogers to the hill.

  Stott went 1-for-1 with two walks, two RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 5-4 win over the Tigers. Stott got the Phillies on the board with a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning and then delivered what proved to be the game-winning RBI single in the eighth. The 27-year-old has now hit safely in seven of his past eight games, collecting four extra-base hits, five RBI, five runs scored and three stolen bases during that stretch. For the year, he's slashing .235/.310/.342 with seven homers, 43 RBI, 43 runs and 17 steals across 389 plate appearances.

• Phillies' Bryson Stott: Adds two walks, stolen base in rout

  Stott went 1-for-3 with two walks, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 9-4 win over the Yankees. That's now three straight games with at least one hit for Stott, although he's struggled mightily as a whole since the start of May. The middle infielder is slashing a woeful .203/.275/.299 with five home runs, seven doubles and 26 RBI over his last 257 plate appearances (66 outings), but he's at least stolen nine bases during this span. Stott had worked his way into Philadelphia's leadoff spot consistently from mid-April to early June, though he hasn't hit first since June 8 and is unlikely to regain that position unless he really begins to heat up at the dish.
