Sanchez allowed one earned run on five hits and one walk while striking out five across 6.1 innings in Game 4 of the NLDS against the Dodgers on Thursday. He did not factor into the decision. Sanchez was in a compelling pitcher's duel with Tyler Glasnow, with his only run coming on an inherited runner after he exited the game. While Sanchez didn't overpower the Dodgers' lineup, he induced 10 groundouts to go along with 14 swinging strikes on 95 total pitches. Despite it coming in a losing effort, Sanchez wrapped up an excellent 2025 season and is very likely to be a Cy Young finalist in the coming weeks.

Sanchez did not factor in the decision during Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Dodgers in Game 1 of the National League Division Series. He allowed two earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out eight across 5.2 innings. Sanchez struck out two in the top of the first inning and cruised through five shutout frames before retiring the first two batters in the top of the sixth. Things then unraveled for the Phillies, as Sanchez walked Freddie Freeman before allowing two-out hits to Tommy Edman and Enrique Hernandez. Hernandez's double plated two, and Sanchez was pulled from the game in favor of David Robertson, who was able to get Max Muncy to end the threat. Matt Strahm, however, surrendered a go-ahead three-run home run to Teoscar Hernandez in the seventh inning. Sanchez looked untouchable prior to the sixth, and he should be available to make his next start Thursday in Game 4 if the series gets to that point.

Sanchez did not factor in the decision during Sunday's extra-inning win against Minnesota. He allowed two hits over 5.2 shutout innings while striking out eight. Sanchez could've produced a career day if he hadn't been on a workload restriction ahead of the postseason. He racked up 17 whiffs on just 60 total pitches, including eight with his changeup. Sanchez has posted a 1.59 ERA over his last six starts. He wrapped up his terrific 2025 regular season with a 2.50 ERA and a 212:44 K:BB through 202 frames. It was the first time he crossed the 200-inning mark, and he did so with a career-high 9.4 K/9.

Sanchez is listed as the Phillies' probable starter for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Twins. Philadelphia seemed likely to hold Sanchez out for any potential wild-card matchup, but after clinching a first-round bye in the postseason with a win Wednesday, the team has since decided to start Sanchez on Sunday in a final tuneup before Game 1 of the NLDS on Oct. 4. It could be something of an abbreviated start for Sanchez, who will not be winning the NL Cy Young over Paul Skenes but should be a finalist for the award after his first career 200-strikeout campaign.

Sanchez allowed four runs on seven hits and struck out six without walking a batter over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Tuesday. Sanchez gave up three runs in the second inning and one more in the fourth. The Phillies' offense couldn't get anything going early on, as Shohei Ohtani threw five no-hit innings, but the Dodgers' bullpen was far less formidable. Sanchez has allowed a total of seven runs over his last 27 innings and is now at a 2.66 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 198:43 K:BB through 189.1 innings across 30 starts this season. He's tentatively projected for a home start versus the Marlins next week, which would be his last of the regular season if the Phillies continue to roll with a six-man rotation.
