Yuli Gurriel DH | SD
Astros' Yulieski Gurriel: Not in Game 1 lineup Saturday
Gurriel is out of the lineup for Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the A's, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Gurriel retreats to the bench following four straight starts, including a 1-for-5 day with a home run and two RBI during Friday's defeat. Tyler White will draw a start at first base in his stead.

Astros' Yulieski Gurriel: Hits second home run of road trip
Gurriel went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer in Friday's 9-8 loss to the Athletics.
Gurriel has powered up twice on the Astros' current road trip to give him 17 homers this season, outpacing RotoWire's projected total of 13. The 32-year-old came over from Cuba known more as a gap hitter with some uncertainty as to how his power would translate to MLB. After averaging 16 homers over 15 seasons on the island, Gurriel is approaching respectable corner-infielder numbers here in the States.

Yandy Diaz 1B | TB
Indians' Yandy Diaz: In lineup Friday
Diaz (elbow) is in the lineup for Friday's game against the Orioles.
Diaz exited Thursday's game with a bruised left elbow after getting hit by a pitch during the sixth inning, but won't miss any additional time. Since Aug. 24, Diaz is hitting .389/.569/.556 with seven RBI and 10 runs, and is batting in the third spot and manning the hot corner for the series opener.

Jose Abreu 1B | HOU
White Sox's Jose Abreu: Takes Kluber deep Thursday
Abreu went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Thursday's 11-2 loss to the Indians.
Abreu's long ball was the second allowed by Cleveland ace Corey Kluber in the first inning, yet Chicago still trailed by two runs at the end of that frame. While the team around him leaves much to be desired, the Cuban first baseman has consistently been one of MLB's top sluggers since debuting in 2014. He's 16 RBI shy of reaching 100 in each of his first four campaigns while smacking at least 25 homers in each.

Indians' Yandy Diaz: Leaves game following HBP
Diaz left Thursday's game with a bruised left elbow, Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com reports.
After being plunked by a Chris Beck offering in the sixth, Diaz was immediately lifted for a pinch runner. The team seems confident that Diaz escaped with nothing more than a contusion, but if there's swelling, it could affect Diaz's availability for the start of the homestand.

Carlos Santana 1B | ARI
Indians' Carlos Santana: Blasts 23rd homer Wednesday
Santana went 3-for-4 with a walk, a home run, two runs scored and two RBi in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the White Sox.
The veteran switch hitter has caught fire, slashing .383/.490/.728 over his last 22 games with seven homers and 16 RBI. Santana's 23 home runs on the season still leave him short of last year's pace, but with 75 RBI he's well on his way to his fourth straight campaign with 80-plus.

Matt Olson 1B | ATL
Athletics' Matt Olson: Homer barrage continues in loss
Olson went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-7 extra-inning loss to the Angels.
The rookie now has three separate three-game stretches this season with at least one homer. He's blasted four overall during his current streak, and he's also compiled half of the 14 RBI he had in all of August during the first five games of September.

C.J. Cron 1B | BOS
Angels' C.J. Cron: Three RBI in extra-inning victory
Cron went 3-for-4 with a triple, a home run, a walk, two runs and three RBI in Tuesday's 10-inning, 8-7 win over Oakland.
Cron produced two of the game's most important hits, turning a one-run deficit on its head with a two-run homer in the sixth inning before breaking a 6-6 tie with an RBI triple in the eighth. The first baseman launched 16 home runs in each of the past two seasons, but has picked up the pace this year with 14 in just 77 games played. Four of those long balls have come since Aug. 29 and Cron also has 15 RBI in that span.

Matt Olson 1B | ATL
Athletics' Matt Olson: Another pair of blasts in loss
Olson went 3-for-5 with three RBI from a solo home run and a game-tying two-run shot in Monday's 11-9 extra-inning loss to the Angels.
Olson was the momentary hero with his second round tripper, a game-tying 385-foot shot to left center off Blake Parker with two out in the ninth that tied the score at 9-9. The rookie hit his first pair of bombs on June 24 and has been blasting them in bunches since that point. Olson already has two separate three-game homer streaks, a feat he could accomplish yet again if he manages to go deep in Tuesday's contest.

Yuli Gurriel DH | SD
Astros' Yulieski Gurriel: Homers in return to action
Gurriel went 2-for-4 with a solo home run during Monday's win over Seattle.
After missing five games with a knee injury, it was reassuring to see Gurriel leave the yard in his first game back in the lineup. He's sporting a rock-solid .295/.325/.483 slash line with 16 homers, 63 RBI and 61 runs, which are serviceable numbers in deep settings.
