Red Sox's Mickey Gasper: Part of Monday's roster cuts
The Red Sox optioned Gasper to Triple-A Worcester on Monday.
Boston also reassigned Matt Thaiss to minor-league camp as part of Monday's roster cuts, solidifying Carlos Narvaez and Connor Wong as the big club's two catchers heading into Opening Day. Gasper is kicking off his second stint with the Red Sox after previously spending his 2024 rookie campaign in Boston before he was traded to the Twins last offseason. He saw limited action at the big-league level for Minnesota in 2025, slashing .158/.257/.232 with two home runs, two stolen bases, 11 RBI and 15 runs in 45 games.

Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE
Guardians' Rhys Hoskins: Secures roster spot
Hoskins will be included on the Guardians' Opening Day roster, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
The veteran slugger still needs to be officially added to the active roster ahead of Thursday's season opener in Seattle. Hoskins had an .817 OPS with three homers in 12 spring training games after spending last season in Milwaukee, where he played in 90 regular-season contests and had a .237/.332/.416 slash line.

Triston Casas 1B | BOS
Red Sox's Triston Casas: Receives clearance to run
Casas (knee) has been cleared to run the bases and slide, MLB.com reports.
Casas, who took at-bats in a minor-league simulated game earlier this week, has cleared another hurdle. He's expected to stay behind in extended spring training until ready to begin a rehab assignment.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 1B | TOR
Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Two hits in return from WBC
Guerrero went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Yankees.
It was his first game back with the Blue Jays after the first baseman starred for the Dominican Republic at the WBC, batting .444 (8-for-18) in five games with three doubles and two homers. Guerrero is also 5-for-13 (.385) in Grapefruit League action, and he has yet to strike out this spring either for the Jays or in the WBC. The 27-year-old will be looking to take his offense to another level after slashing .292/.381/.467 over 156 regular-season games last season with 23 homers and 84 RBI.

Jac Caglianone 1B | KC
Royals' Jac Caglianone: Closes strong WBC with Italy
Caglianone went 4-for-14 with a double, a home run, four RBI, a stolen base and five walks across five games for Italy in the World Baseball Classic.
Caglianone got off to a hot start in Cactus League play and carried that momentum into the WBC, highlighted by a two-run blast against the United States on March 10 in pool play. He flashed his exciting power while also showing solid plate discipline, drawing five walks. After a disappointing rookie campaign in which the 23-year-old hit .157/.237/.295 with six doubles, seven homers and 18 RBI across 62 big-league appearances, the Royals wanted him to earn his spot in the lineup. With his strong spring showing, Caglianone figures to see consistent playing time in right field, though the 2024 first-round pick could sit in favor of Starling Marte against left-handed pitching.

Munetaka Murakami 1B | CHW
White Sox's Munetaka Murakami: Homers in return from WBC
Murakami went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-4 Cactus League win over the A's.
It was the first Cactus League home run for Murakami, who now owns an even 1.000 OPS through 17 plate appearances with the White Sox this spring after joining the club on a two-year, $34 million contract in December. Back from the World Baseball Classic, Murakami told Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, "Compared to when I left Arizona, I feel much better as far as conditioning, as well. I'm seeing the ball better, I'm swinging better, so I'll keep that approach up and try to hit as much as possible." The 26-year-old is slated to open the season as the starting first baseman on the South Side.

Ryan Mountcastle 1B | BAL
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Back in action
Mountcastle (hand) is starting at designated hitter and batting cleanup Tuesday against the Tigers, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Mountcastle missed almost a week with the hand issue but is back in the heart of the lineup Tuesday. He is hitting .296 with zero home runs, zero walks and six strikeouts in 29 plate appearances this spring. He has also been hit by a pitch twice.

Justin Foscue 1B | TEX
Rangers' Justin Foscue: Optioned to Triple-A
The Rangers optioned Foscue to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.
Foscue missed three weeks of action in spring training due to a strained right hamstring but progressed enough in his recovery to return to the lineup for Sunday's Cactus League game against the Dodgers, when he went 0-for-2 with one walk. He spent the vast majority of the 2025 season in Triple-A, where he slashed .261/.341/.474 with seven steals, 19 home runs and 68 RBI over 453 plate appearances. Foscue appeared in only four regular-season games for the Rangers last year, but he would be in line for a major-league call-up should Texas require more depth in the infield.

Dustin Harris 1B | CHW
White Sox's Dustin Harris: Reassigned to minor-league camp
The White Sox reassigned Harris to minor-league camp Monday.
Harris was in camp on a minor-league deal that included an invitation to spring training. The 26-year-old has swung the bat well this spring, slashing .471/.526/.588 with a pair of doubles, four RBI, two stolen bases and two walks across 19 trips to the plate. Harris should open the season with Triple-A Charlotte.

Triston Casas 1B | BOS
Red Sox's Triston Casas: Takes part in minor-league sim game
Casas (knee) was able to take simulated at-bats in a minor-league game Tuesday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
Casas admitted last week that he doesn't anticipate playing in Grapefruit League contest, but the Red Sox are comfortable having him serve as a designated hitter in controlled games on the back fields of camp. Though the 26-year-old is facing no restrictions at the plate, he's not yet cleared to run the bases or slide while he works to regain strength in his surgically repaired left knee. Casas is without a definitive timeline to make his season debut, though the expectation is that he'll be out for at least the first month of the 2026 campaign.
