  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Absent from lineup Sunday

Wade (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets

Wade tweaked his hamstring in the ninth inning of San Fransisco's 8-7 win over the Mets on Friday, and he'll be out of the lineup for the second straight game as the two clubs finish up their series. Wilmer Flores will fill in at first base for Wade and will bat fifth.

  • Bryce Harper DH | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Puts game out of reach

Harper went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Rockies.

Harper hit an RBI single in the first inning and added a three-run homer in the ninth that gave the Phillies all the offense they needed in the win. He's hit safely in 10 of his last 12 games, going 16-for-46 (.348) with four homers and 12 RBI in that span. For the season, the 31-year-old is up to a .282/.389/.554 slash line with 13 homers, 41 RBI, 32 runs scored, three stolen bases and nine doubles over 48 contests.

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Battling hamstring issue

Manager Bob Melvin said Saturday that Wade tweaked his hamstring during the ninth inning of Friday's win over the Mets, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Melvin noted that the Giants consider Wade's injury to be minor, but they have decided not to push their luck and will keep him out of the lineup for Saturday's contest. Wilmer Flores will cover first base and bat fifth while Wade recovers.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | TEX

    Pirates' Rowdy Tellez: Sitting Saturday

Tellez isn't in the Pirates' lineup Saturday against Atlanta, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Although the Pirates will be facing a right-hander in Reynaldo Lopez, the left-handed Tellez will step out of the lineup. The 29-year-old is slashing just .175/.242/.225 through 132 plate appearances, so it's possible he's losing his grip on the starting job at first base. Connor Joe will get the nod at first while Edward Olivares starts in right field.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Slugs 12th homer

Alonso went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 8-7 loss to the Giants.

Another bullpen meltdown wasted a big night from the Mets' offense, as Alonso's seventh-inning solo shot off Nick Avila was New York's third homer of the game. The first baseman extended his hitting streak to nine games, and over the last 15 contests Alonso is slashing .313/.362/.609 with four of his 12 homers on the season and 10 of his 26 RBI.

  • Connor Joe RF | SEA

Pirates' Connor Joe: Scores three runs

Joe went 2-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored Friday against Atlanta.

Joe doubled in the first and third innings and came around to score on each occasion. The performance marked his first multi-hit game in his last six starts and his first extra-base knock in eight contests. With Jack Suwinski optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday, Joe's status as a regular in the lineup should be cemented.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | TEX

Pirates' Rowdy Tellez: Takes seat Friday

Tellez is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Tellez will dodge a matchup with southpaw Ray Kerr on Friday. Connor Joe will start at first base and bat third.

  • Joey Meneses DH | NYM

Nationals' Joey Meneses: Might lose roster spot

Meneses could be optioned to Triple-A Rochester when Lane Thomas (knee) is ready to come off the injured list, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.

The 32-year-old has been an everyday player for the Nationals this season between first base and DH, but he's managed just a .234/.299/.299 slash line in 43 games with two homers and 24 RBI. Victor Robles is the more likely candidate to get booted from the 26-man roster to make room for Thomas, but Robles is out of minor-league options and would have to be exposed to waivers, while Meneses could be optioned to Triple-A without any risk of losing him. Jesse Winker would likely become the primary DH in that scenario.

  • Reds' Christian Encarnacion-Strand: Fielding grounders

Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) was on the field Tuesday fielding groundballs, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Encarnacion-Strand's right hand remained in a protective cast while he fielded solely with his left (glove) hand. This was his first form of baseball activity since being diagnosed May 8 with a right ulnar styloid fracture on the inside of his hand near the wrist. The Reds still expect him back at some point in June, but a clearer timeline should emerge after Encarnacion-Strand undergoes a follow-up exam scheduled for June 5, the four-week mark of his projected 4-to-6 week recovery.

  • Kris Bryant RF | COL

Rockies' Kris Bryant: Receiving Thursday off

Bryant is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics.

Bryant will be joined on the bench by Elias Diaz, Charlie Blackmon and Brendan Rodgers as the Rockies rest four key regulars for the day game after a night game. After being activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Bryant started at first base in both of the first two games of the series in Oakland, going 1-for-8 with two walks between the contests. Elehuris Montero will replace Bryant at first base Thursday.
