Michael Toglia 1B | COL
Rockies' Michael Toglia: On bench Saturday
Toglia is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals.
Alan Trejo will get a rare turn in the starting lineup as Toglia heads to the bench after six consecutive starts. Toglia's been in a bad way at the plate, managing just four singles while striking out 12 times in his last 25 at-bats, but the Rockies are in full-blown evaluation mode and the 24-year-old Toglia likely still has some leash in a regular role.

Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Rehab stint on tap
Manager Craig Counsell said Friday that Tellez (finger/forearm) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
The 28-year-old had the stitches removed from his fractured left ring finger July 25 and has been cleared for game action after ramping up his baseball activities over the past week and a half. Tellez initially landed on the shelf in early July with forearm inflammation, but that injury no longer appears to be a concern. Depending how many games he'll require during the rehab assignment, Tellez could be back with the Brewers as early as next weekend's three-game series against the White Sox.

Elehuris Montero 1B | COL
Rockies' Elehuris Montero: Strikeouts remain issue
Montero went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored Friday against the Cardinals.
Since being recalled July 25, Montero has started six of nine games split between first base and DH. He's collected seven hits in 25 at-bats, though he's still striking out at a 37 percent clip. Montero began the season as an option at third base for the Rockies, but he struggled there defensively and has since been limited to the opposite corner of the infield. In order to maintain playing time once Charlie Blackmon (hand) and Kris Bryant (hand) return -- both remain without a timetable -- Montero will have to continue to hit.

Alfonso Rivas 1B | STL
Pirates' Alfonso Rivas: Collects three hits
Rivas went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer and a triple in Friday's victory against the Brewers.
Rivas got the Pirates on the board with his first-inning long ball, his first homer of the year in his second game with Pittsburgh after being dealt by the Padres before the trade deadline. Rivas is expected to get the bulk of the playing time at first base for the Pirates down the stretch, and the 26-year-old could be surprisingly productive given his career .313/.424/.492 slash line over 150 games at Triple-A.

LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW
Giants' LaMonte Wade: Accounts for lone run in win
Wade went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's 1-0 win over the Diamondbacks.
The Giants' offense has been inconsistent lately, but Wade's homer Thursday allowed the team to scrape together a win with just three baserunners. He's homered twice in his last three games, going 4-for-10 with a walk in that span. The first baseman is up to 11 long balls, 30 RBI, 46 runs scored, two stolen bases and a .268/.396/.431 slash line through 95 contests.

Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Remains red-hot at dish
Freeman went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and two doubles Thursday in an 8-2 win over Oakland.
Freeman racked up three extra-base hits in the contest, though the only one that produced a run was his solo homer in the eighth inning. The veteran first baseman has been on an absolute tear of late, collecting multiple hits in four straight games and going an incredible 12-for-17 with six extra-base hits, three RBI and five runs over that stretch. Freeman may not be getting the same amount of MVP buzz as his former teammate Ronald Acuna, but he's arguably in the running for the award given his impressive production this season. Freeman leads the NL in OPS (1.016), SLG (.598) and doubles (40), ranks second in batting average (.341), hits (146) and runs (94), and has added 22 homers, 76 RBI and 14 stolen bases through 107 games.

Spencer Steer 1B | CIN
Reds' Spencer Steer: Homers in second straight game
Steer went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double against the Cubs in a loss Thursday.
Steer brought the Reds to within a run with his eighth-inning solo blast to center field, but that was as close as Cincinnati would get. The long ball was Steer's second in as many days and marked the sixth time in his past seven games that he's driven in at least one run. Over that span, the talented 25-year-old is batting .286 (8-for-28) with three homers, seven RBI and six runs.

Josh Bell DH | MIN
Marlins' Josh Bell: Huge Miami debut
Bell went 4-for-5 with a walk, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Wednesday's 9-8 extra-innings win over the Phillies.
The Marlins were shut out by Zack Wheeler through five innings, but Bell got them on the board with a solo shot in the sixth as he made an immediate impact for his new club. The 30-year-old's xBA (.275) and xSLG (.460) this season have been pacing well ahead of his actual production and are more in line with his career numbers, and if his bad luck in Cleveland didn't follow him to south Florida, Bell could prove to be a huge addition for Miami down the stretch as it chases a playoff spot.

Spencer Steer 1B | CIN
Reds' Spencer Steer: Belts 16th homer
Steer went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Cubs on Wednesday.
Though Cincinnati would eventually be blown out, Steer set the team off on a positive note with his two-run blast in the first frame. It was his 16th long ball of the campaign, tied for fifth-most among MLB rookies. Steer's strong season also includes a .272/.357/.463 slash line, 22 doubles, 61 RBI, 54 runs and nine stolen bases through 105 contests.

Joey Votto 1B | TOR
Reds' Joey Votto: Slugs two homers Wednesday
Votto went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Cubs.
Votto belted a solo shot to center field in the second inning and added a two-run blast in the fourth. He finished with multiple hits for the third straight game, a span in which he's gone 6-for-13 with three homers, four runs and seven RBI. The hot stretch follows a poor start to the second half, as Votto went 5-for-46 (.109 average) over his first 14 games following the All-Star break.
