  • Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Goes deep again

Tellez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's win over the Red Sox.

For the second game in a row, Tellez found the seats this time with a third-inning shot off Garrett Whitlock. Tellez has just 16 hits this season, but seven of those are long balls. The first baseman is slashing .242/.333/.576 this season.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Hits solo home run in win

Flores went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Mets.

Flores' third home run of the season extended the Giants' lead to 7-2 in the fifth inning. He's currently batting .295 and has seven RBI across 17 games (65 plate appearances).

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Gets afternoon off

Cooper will sit for the afternoon portion of Saturday's doubleheader against the Guardians, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Cooper started 17 of the Marlins' first 19 games this season (11 at first base and six as the designated hitter), so it doesn't appear as though the arrival of Yuli Gurriel is cutting into his playing time. Gurriel will start at first base in the afternoon game, but Cooper will likely return to the lineup for the nightcap.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Clobbers homer in blowout win

Alonso went 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI in Friday's 7-0 win over the Giants.

Alonso currently leads the majors with 10 home runs, while also sporting an impressive slash line of .293/.376/.671. The star first baseman has also homered in two straight games. He is one of the top players in fantasy, barring any unforeseen injuries or slumps.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Pirates' Carlos Santana: Piling up RBI

Santana went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI Friday against the Reds.

Santana doubled in an insurance run in the seventh inning with his only hit of the game. After a slow start to the season, he has at least one hit in 11 of his last 15 games. In that same span, he's homered twice, driven in 12 and scored eight runs all while hitting .304. Santana is locked into a near-everyday role as the Pirates' cleanup hitter.

  • Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Smacks sixth home run

Tellez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's loss to the Red Sox.

Tellez tied the game in the fourth inning with his solo shot, and the first baseman leads the Brewers with six homers this season. He's off to a good start after hitting a career-high 35 home runs last season, and Tellez has his batting average up to .242 (15-for-62) after posting a career-low .219 mark last season.

  • Rockies' Elehuris Montero: Takes a seat again Friday

Montero is not in the Rockies' lineup for Friday's game against the Phillies.

He's now been on the bench for three of the last four games, and the one game he did start was in the designated hitter spot. Meanwhile, each of Ryan McMahon's starts during that stretch have come at third base, as it appears the Rockies might no longer be willing to put up with Montero's poor defense at the hot corner.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Pops second homer

Wade went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Thursday's 9-4 loss to the Mets.

Wade went deep in the fifth inning off Mets starter Kodai Senga. Prior to Thursday, Wade was stuck in an 0-for-10 mini-slump, though he had four walks in that span. The 29-year-old is slashing .205/.435/.364 with two homers, four RBI, five runs scored and a stolen base through 63 plate appearances, playing mainly against right-handed pitchers. His 15:12 BB:K stands out, but that impressive plate discipline is likely unsustainable for a full season.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Nabs first theft

Freeman went 0-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Cubs.

Freeman extended his on-base streak to six games with a walk in the eighth inning, and he subsequently stole second. The theft was the first of the season for the veteran first baseman -- he was caught stealing in his only other attempt. Freeman tallied a career-high 13 steals last year, adding some extra juice to his reliable fantasy production in nearly every other offensive category.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Hits start coming

Walker went 3-for-5 with a double in Thursday's 7-5 loss to the Padres.

Walker's average has risen to .222 following a five-game stretch during which he's gone 7-for-20. Statcast indicators still point to him being a below-average hitter so far in 2023, but his xBA and hard-hit rates are climbing.
