Alec Burleson 1B | STL
Cardinals' Alec Burleson: Explodes for three homers, six RBI
Burleson went 3-for-5 with three home runs and six RBI in Monday's 13-7 win over the Yankees.
It was just the second career multi-homer game by Burleson, who went off for a career-high three long balls Monday. Additionally, the six RBI were also a career-best output. Burleson, who had last left the yard July 8 versus the Brewers prior to Monday, remains firmly on pace for his most productive big-league campaign, slashing .288/.350/.480 with 18 big flies, 27 doubles and 77 RBI over 477 plate appearances.

Gavin Sheets 1B | SD
Padres' Gavin Sheets: Taking seat Monday
Sheets is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Over his last 20 games, Sheets is slashing an abysmal .120/.281/.120 with no extra-base hits, and his extended slump could be starting to cost him playing time. He'll hit the bench for the fourth time in five games, with two of his absences coming against righties and two coming against lefties.

TJ Rumfield 1B | COL
Rockies' TJ Rumfield: Given evening off
Rumfield is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.
Lefty Ian Seymour is starting for the Rays, so the Rockies decided it was an ideal time to give the left-handed-hitting Rumfield a night off. The rookie started in each of the Rockies' previous seven games, going 7-for-29 with a double, a walk, five RBI and three runs.

Andres Chaparro 1B | WAS
Nationals' Andres Chaparro: Omitted from lineup
Chaparro (head) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.
Despite passing concussion tests after he made an early exit from Sunday's 4-2 loss to Atlanta when he was struck in the helmet by a pitch, Chaparro will be kept on the bench for the series opener in Philadelphia. Even though the Nationals traded Luis Garcia to the Yankees following Sunday's contest, Chaparro could end up sticking in his short-side platoon role at first base rather than seeing a major uptick in an opportunities against right-handed pitching. Washington recalled the left-handed-hitting Abimelec Ortiz from Triple-A Rochester on Monday, and he'll step in at first base right away in the Nationals' first game post-Garcia while right-hander Aaron Nola toes the slab for the Phillies.

Connor Norby 2B | COL
Rockies' Connor Norby: Dealt to Rockies
The Marlins traded Norby and Aiden May to the Rockies on Monday in exchange for Victor Vodnik, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Norby, who was optioned to Triple-A on June 26, has a .234/.302/.383 slash line with 21 home runs, 17 steals and 0.8 fWAR in 198 career games in the majors. He played 43 games at first base, 13 games at third base and 12 games at designated hitter with Miami.

Abimelec Ortiz 1B | WAS
Nationals' Abimelec Ortiz: Called up to Washington
The Nationals recalled Ortiz from Triple-A Rochester on Monday.
The 24-year-old will join the big club ahead of its four-game series in Philadelphia and is likely to settle into the strong side of a platoon at first base with Andres Chaparro (head), after the Nationals traded Luis Garcia to the Yankees on Sunday. Ortiz previously made his MLB debut in the Nationals' final game before the All-Star break but has otherwise spent the entire 2026 campaign at Triple-A. He's kept his strikeout rate at a manageable 19.5 percent and has produced a .244/.348/.497 slash line with 18 home runs across 365 plate appearances with Rochester.

Bryce Harper 1B | PHI
Phillies' Bryce Harper: Moving back to outfield
The Phillies plan to move Harper back to right field to accommodate the arrival of new acquisition Luis Arraez, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Arraez will remain at second base -- where he's been a plus defender this season -- which will create a domino effect of Bryson Stott shifting to third base, Alec Bohm to first base and Harper back to right field, where he hasn't played since 2022. It means Harper will pick up outfield eligibility in fantasy leagues soon, but the move could also increase his injury risk.

Rafael Devers 1B | SF
Giants' Rafael Devers: Goes deep in loss
Devers went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Padres.
Devers showed off his opposite-field power with a solo shot to left field in the eighth inning. Over his past 30 games, the 29-year-old has slashed .280/.388/.561 with nine homers, 19 RBI and 22 runs. After a slow start to the season, Devers has found his footing at the plate, posting a .250/.324/.481 slash line with 23 homers, 62 RBI and 60 runs across 112 games in 2026.

Andres Chaparro 1B | WAS
Nationals' Andres Chaparro: Passes concussion tests
Nationals manager Blake Butera said after Sunday's 4-2 loss to Atlanta that Chaparro (head) passed a concussion test, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.
A late addition to the starting nine after Luis Garcia was scratched, Chaparro grounded out in his first plate appearance of the day, then was struck in the helmet by a pitch in the top of the fourth with the bases loaded. Chaparro was able to take his base and was credited with an RBI, but the Nationals removed him from the contest in the top of the fifth, seemingly as a precaution. Assuming Chaparro doesn't experience any symptoms leading up to Monday's series opener in Philadelphia, he could soon find himself back in the starting nine. Per Zuckerman, Butera said after the game that Garcia didn't play Sunday because "something was really close" on a trade, and the Nationals could finalize a deal prior to Monday's deadline.

Matt Olson 1B | ATL
Braves' Matt Olson: Homers in third straight game
Olson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Nationals.
Olson tied the game at 2-2 in the fourth inning with a 401-foot blast off Cade Cavalli, his 31st homer this season and his third in his last three games. Since the All-Star break, Olson has gone 17-for-65 (.262) with six homers, putting his slash line at .266/.342/.541 with 69 RBI and 78 runs scored across 491 plate appearances this season.
