Gittens was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a sprained right ankle.

Gittens suffered the injury during Saturday's contest when he stepped on a bat and rolled his ankle. The 27-year-old was scheduled to undergo X-rays, and the diagnosis of a sprain indicates the imaging came back clean. It remains unclear how long he's expected to be sidelined. Gio Urshela (illness) was activated from the COVID-19 injured list in a corresponding move.

Gurriel is out of the lineup Sunday versus the Rangers, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Gurriel will take a seat Sunday after starting the past 16 games and posting a .625 OPS during that stretch. Abraham Toro will cover first base in his place while Robel Garcia starts at the hot corner.

Freeman went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, three runs and two RBI in Saturday's 15-3 win over the Phillies.

Freeman slugged the first of five home runs on the day for Atlanta, taking Vince Velasquez deep to right field with one on and one out in the top of the first inning. The home run was the 23rd of the season for Freeman, placing him tied for 11th in the majors with Houston's Jose Altuve. Freeman will look to add to that total Sunday, when he starts at first base and bats third while facing off against the Phillies' Aaron Nola in the series finale.

Walker is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Walker will head to the bench for only the second time in 11 games, paving the way for Pavin Smith to pick up a start at first base. Since the All-Star break, Walker has gone 7-for-28 (.250 average) with three doubles, three runs and an RBI.

Dalbec is not in the lineup Sunday against the Yankees, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Dalbec started three consecutive contests before heading to the bench Saturday, and he's now out of the lineup for the second straight game. He's 4-for-20 with nine strikeouts through seven games in the second half. Franchy Cordero will work at first base in his place Sunday.

Santana went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 9-8 win over the Tigers.

The Royals took the lead for good with a five-run seventh inning, and Santana's blast was the highlight of the rally. The 35-year-old has gone yard in back-to-back games and hit safely in six straight, boosting his slash line on the season to .241/.358/.421 with 17 homers and 55 RBI through 96 contests.

Mountcastle went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a solo home run in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Nationals.

His fourth-inning blast off Jon Lester gave the O's a 2-0 lead. Mountcastle is hitting only .214 (6-for-28) since the All-Star break, but four of the hits have gone for extra bases (two doubles, two homers), and he's driven in seven. On the season, the 24-year-old is slashing .252/.300/.452 with 16 home runs and 55 RBI through 91 games.

Wade went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 10-2 loss to the Pirates.

Wade slammed a solo home run off Wil Crowe in the sixth inning. He was one of two Giants to reach base safely twice in the game. He has hit well over the past few games but is still batting .217 for the month of July. The 27-year-old is slashing .252/.341/.531 in 166 plate appearances this season.

Votto went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Saturday in a 5-3 win over St. Louis.

The veteran first baseman padded a one-run Reds lead with a solo shot to left field in the fifth inning. The long ball was Votto's 13th of the season and accounted for his 45th RBI. He has been on fire at the plate of late, going 9-for-19 with a pair of homers and five RBI over his past five games.

Tellez went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Saturday's 6-1 win over the White Sox.

Tellez swatted his first and second home runs as a Brewer on Saturday, and he picked up an additional RBI on a fielder's choice. Since arriving in Milwaukee from Toronto, Tellez is hitting .350. While the sample size is small (just 20 at-bats), the slugger should continue to get the odd start and opportunities off the bench as a left-handed hitter in the National League.
