Alonso's bat has been a little quiet lately -- he's 11-for-38 (.289) with just two extra-base hits and two RBI, as well as a 2:16 BB:K over his last 10 games. This was his third multi-hit effort in that span. The first baseman is at a .292/.384/.549 slash line with 18 home runs, 23 doubles, 65 RBI, 46 runs scored and no stolen bases across 82 contests. Alonso has hit for a high average all year without sacrificing too much power, so a little regression was to be expected at some point, but he's managed it gracefully so far.

Busch went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Cardinals.

Busch's second-inning homer stood as the game winner, and he later came around to score again in the fourth. The 27-year-old has enjoyed a stellar June, going deep six times with 16 RBI and a .994 OPS across 21 games. On the season, he's slashing .273/.363/.506 with 13 home runs, 46 RBI, 36 runs scored and four steals over 284 plate appearances.

Torkelson went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and an additional run scored in Thursday's 8-0 win over the A's.

Torkelson opened the scoring in the second inning with a solo shot off Jeffrey Springs, his 17th of the year. The homer is Torkelson's first since June 10. The 25-year-old first baseman had gone just 2-for-27 (.074) in seven games prior to Thursday. Overall, Torkelson is slashing .224/.328/.474 with 50 RBI and 45 runs scored across 320 plate appearances this season.

X-rays on Guerrero's right forearm came back negative after he had to be removed from Thursday's contest against the Guardians following a hit-by-pitch.

Guerrero eventually had to exit the game after being struck by a Tanner Bibee offering, but he has managed to escape with merely a contusion. Consider Guerrero day-to-day.

Guerrero was removed from Thursday's game against the Guardians in the fourth inning following a hit-by-pitch on the left arm, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

After grounding out in the first inning, Guerrero was struck by a Tanner Bibee offering in the third. He remained in the game to run the bases and played defense in the bottom of the frame, but the slugger was lifted prior to the bottom of the fourth. Guerrero is likely headed for X-rays, and an update on his status should come soon.

Schmitt (wrist) isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Marlins, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Schmitt took a pitch off his left wrist during the ninth inning of Wednesday's contest, and the Giants intended to take him out of the game if his spot in the lineup was due up in extra innings. The 26-year-old said after the game that X-rays on his wrist came back negative, per Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area, but the team will give him a day off Thursday to recover while Christian Koss starts at third base.

Harper (wrist) could be activated from the 10-day injured list Monday when the Phillies begin a homestand, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Harper took 75 swings off a high-velocity pitching machine Thursday and is slated to hit outside on the field Friday. He could face live pitching after that. While it sounds like Harper will not be activated over the weekend in Atlanta, he appears poised to skip a rehab assignment and return early next week if he continues to trend in the right direction.

Mervis has been placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Jacksonville with an oblique strain, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

Mervis has dealt with the injury for a couple days and didn't improve enough to avoid the IL. He's slashed .246/.309/.623/.932 with six home runs in 16 games with Jacksonville after being removed from the Marlins' 40-man roster.

Busch went 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 8-0 win over the Cardinals. He also stole a base.

Busch continued to pound right-handed pitching, as he helped lead an onslaught against St. Louis starter Erick Fedde, who lasted only 3.2 innings. On the season, the infielder has a robust .948 OPS against righties compared to a lowly .388 OPS against southpaws, albeit in a limited sample. Busch also swiped just his fourth bag of the year, giving him two more steals than he had in 2024.

Arraez went 3-for-4 with an RBI in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Nationals.

Arraez was responsible for half of the Padres' six hits Wednesday, including a two-out RBI single in the second inning that provided the lone run in the game. Arraez extended his hitting streak to 12 games -- he's gone 19-for-53 (.358) in that span. Overall, the former batting champ is slashing .288/.317/.397 with three homers, 30 RBI, 37 runs scored and three steals across 323 plate appearances this season.
