  • Mark Canha 1B | SF

Giants' Mark Canha: Swipes sixth bag in loss

Canha went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Saturday's loss to the Padres. He was also hit by a pitch.

Canha got beaned by Joe Musgrove in his first trip to the plate and added a single his second time around before stealing second. The theft was his sixth of the campaign and his first this month. The outfielder has now hit safely in each of his last two games but is batting just .231 (3-for-13) in September with one RBI, two walks and a stolen base.

  • Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Scores run in return from IL

Soderstrom, who was activated from the injured list earlier in the day, went 0-for-5 with a run in a loss to the White Sox on Saturday.

Soderstrom made his first MLB appearance since July 9 after overcoming his wrist injury, but he wasn't able to carry over the red-hot bat he'd wielded during his minor-league rehab assignment. Nevertheless, the rookie is expected to get plenty of chances to rediscover his stroke before the end of the regular season, as MLB.com reports manager Mark Kotsay plans to give Soderstrom "the bulk of the first-base reps" down the stretch of the campaign. "I think the focus these next 14 games is to keep him healthy," Kotsay said. "Allow him to finish the season and go into the offseason with a good frame of mind [knowing] that he's healthy and can go train and prepare for next year."

  • Pavin Smith RF | ARI

Diamondbacks' Pavin Smith: Rattles off three hits

Smith went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in Saturday's 15-8 loss to the Brewers.

Smith was one of five Diamondbacks to post multiple hits in the blowout loss. He has a pair of three-hit efforts over his last five games, though Smith remains in a strong-side platoon role despite his recent success at the plate. For the year, the 28-year-old has a .280/.348/.550 slash line with seven home runs, 28 RBI, 21 runs scored and one stolen base over 115 plate appearances. Smith could see his role reduced once again whenever Lourdes Gurriel (calf) is ready to return.

  • Michael Toglia 1B | COL

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Belts homer in win

Toglia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Cubs.

Toglia is 9-for-32 (.281) with three homers over his last nine contests. His blast Saturday was part of a comeback push for the Rockies, as he cut the Cubs' lead to 3-2 in the seventh inning. Toglia continues to impress with power, boasting 24 homers and a .473 slugging percentage through 103 contests. He's batting just .221 on the year with 51 RBI, 58 runs scored and eight stolen bases, though he's found more consistency at the plate in September.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Drives in four in win

Olson went 2-for-5 with two doubles, four RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 10-1 win over the Dodgers.

Olson has gone 13-for-45 (.289) with nine RBI and five doubles over 12 contests in September. He hasn't hit a home run since he swatted two of them Aug. 29. The first baseman is up to a .238/.317/.442 slash line with 25 homers, 86 RBI, 71 runs scored, 36 doubles and no stolen bases across 148 games this season.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Youngest Jay to 500 RBI

Guerrero went 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and an RBI in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Cardinals.

With his RBI single in the seventh inning, the 25-year-old Guerrero became the youngest Blue Jay ever to record 500 career RBI. He also reached that plateau in 806 career games, with only Carlos Delgado (714 games) getting there quicker in franchise history. Guerrero has slowed down a little in September, going nine straight games without recording multiple hits, but on the season he's still slashing .320/.394/.545 with 28 homers, 96 RBI and 92 runs.

  • Bryce Harper 1B | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Homers twice in win

Harper went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Mets.

According to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com, Harper had gone 128 plate appearances without a home run before smacking a solo shot in the fourth inning. Despite the homerless drought, the slugger has now tallied six multi-hit efforts and nine extra-base hits through 12 September contests. On the season, he's batting .290 with 28 long balls, 82 RBI, 79 runs scored and five steals across 577 plate appearances.

  • Astros' Jon Singleton: Not starting Saturday

Singleton is absent from Saturday's lineup against the Angels.

Singleton will sit for a second straight game as the Angels send southpaw Tyler Anderson to the mound. Yainer Diaz will start at first base Saturday while Victor Caratini steps in behind home plate.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | MIL

Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Sitting down Saturday

Hoskins isn't in Milwaukee's lineup Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

Hoskins provided all of the Brewers' offense by hitting a two-run home run in Friday's series opener. He'll catch a breather Saturday while Jake Bauers starts at first base and bats sixth.

  • Michael Busch 1B | CHC

    Cubs' Michael Busch: Resting Saturday

Busch isn't in the Cubs' lineup Saturday against Colorado.

Although Busch has gone 8-for-17 with two homers and seven RBI over his last four games, the Cubs will sit him down for Saturday's contest while Patrick Wisdom starts at first base and bats sixth.
