Christian Walker 1B | HOU
Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Returns to lineup Monday
Walker went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Giants.
Walker was back in the lineup after getting a day off Sunday. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo talked to Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports on Monday about giving Walker time off following his return from an oblique injury. "Yesterday I took [Christian] Walker out of the lineup... It's probably about three or four days too late to give him a day off, talking to the medical team," Lovullo said. Walker should be available for the final five games of the season.

Giants' Mark Canha: Logs steal in win
Canha went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's 6-3 win over the Diamondbacks.
Canha hasn't seen much more than a short-side platoon role since he was traded from the Tigers to the Giants at the deadline. He's batting .282 with San Francisco, though he has just two extra-base hits (both doubles) and four RBI across 30 games with the team. Overall, Canha has a .240/.343/.343 slash line with seven home runs, 42 RBI, 45 runs scored and seven stolen bases through 123 games this season.

LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW
Giants' LaMonte Wade: Out against left-hander
Wade is absent from the lineup for Monday's game in Arizona.
Southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez is on the hill for the Diamondbacks, so the left-handed-hitting Wade will yield to Mark Canha at first base. Though he's slashing .333/.439/.424 over 42 plate appearances versus lefties this season, Wade has just three starts against left-handers in 2024.

Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE
Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Drives in three runs
Hoskins went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, three RBI and two runs during Sunday's 10-9 win against Arizona.
The first baseman delivered in the clutch Sunday with an RBI double in the seventh and a game-tying, two-run single in the ninth to help Milwaukee erase an eight-run deficit. Hoskins continues to carry a hot bat and has a .321/.406/.607 slash line with two homers over his past nine games, though he also has a 46.9 percent strikeout rate during that stretch.

Jake Burger 3B | TEX
Marlins' Jake Burger: Swats 28th homer

All four of Miami's runs on the afternoon came on solo shots, with Burger launching his in the fourth inning off Grant Holmes. The 28-year-old slugger has gone yard three times in the last six contests, part of a 12-game stretch in which he's slashing .304/.327/.522 with nine RBI. Burger sits two long balls short of recording his second straight 30-homer campaign with six games left on the Marlins' schedule.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 1B | TOR
Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Another three-hit effort Sunday
Guerrero went 3-for-5 with an RBI in Sunday's loss to the Rays.
All the knocks were singles, but it was still Guerrero's fourth three-hit performance in the last week. The 25-year-old is raking to close out a mostly disappointing season for the Blue Jays, and through 17 games in September he's slashing .348/.416/.536 with three homers, 11 RBI and 15 runs.

Austin Shenton 1B | SEA
Rays' Austin Shenton: Sent down to minors
The Rays optioned Shenton to their spring training complex Monday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.
The minor-league season for Triple-A Durham is over, so Shenton will stay in shape at the team's spring training facility in case he's needed later this week. Shenton has put up a .745 OPS over 50 plate appearances during his time in the majors this season.

Jonathan Aranda 1B | TB
Rays' Jonathan Aranda: Goes deep in third straight
Aranda went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Blue Jays.
Aranda struck out in three of his four plate appearances, but he made his one hit count to tally his sixth homer of the season. He has now gone yard in three straight games, and he has hit .294 with five homers, eight RBI and 10 runs scored across 15 games since he became a regular starter in early September.

Spencer Torkelson 1B | DET
Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Homers in win Sunday
Torkelson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Orioles.
Kerry Carpenter went deep twice, and Torkelson tacked on his ninth long ball of the year to give Detroit possession of the last AL wild-card spot for the moment. Torkelson had a sluggish start to the season, but he's been better lately, batting .273 over his last 10 contests with the one home run and four RBI. The 25-year-old should continue to see regular playing time in the final week of the regular season.
