Locklear owns a .409 average and 1.162 OPS with a double, two home runs, five RBI, a walk and seven runs over the 23 plate appearances he's logged with Triple-A Tacoma since being optioned July 30.

The rookie's latest stint with the Mariners lasted just five games and 17 plate appearances, a stretch during which Locklear produced an .067 average and mammoth 47.1 percent strikeout rate. However, Locklear has looked right back in his element with the Rainiers, producing multi-hit efforts in three of his past four contests. While Justin Turner (hand) has taken a hold of the everyday role at first base since his trade to Seattle, it's still conceivable Locklear gets another look at the big-league level down the stretch if he continues to perform in a similar fashion at Tacoma.

Singleton is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Rangers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Zach Dezenzo is getting the call at first base in Singleton's place, and the rookie could have an opportunity to overtake the veteran on the depth chart down the stretch. Singleton has slashed just .232/.316/.355 in 89 contests with the Astros this season.

France went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-2 win over Miami.

France answered the Marlins' two-run fourth inning with a leadoff homer in the fifth. It was the second home run in as many games for France, who made a fifth consecutive start at first base. It appears he's settling in as the club's primary first baseman, regardless of which starter is on the mound. During his five-start run, the first three starts were against left-handers and the last two against righties.

Turner was diagnosed with a left hand contusion after getting hit by a pitch during Tuesday's game against Detroit, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Turner remained in the game to run the bases after he took a 95-mph sinker off his left hand in the seventh inning, but he was later pinch hit for by Cade Marlowe in the ninth frame. Precautionary X-rays came back clean after the game, and Turner is officially viewed as day-to-day heading into Wednesday's contest.

Pasquantino went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Red Sox.

Pasquantino opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning and plated another run with a double in the fifth. He's on a 10-game hitting streak, going 16-for-43 (.372) with five home runs and 15 RBI during the hot stretch. The first baseman has hit safely in 15 of 17 games since the All-Star break, lifting his season slash line from .246/.310/.421 at the break to .270/.325/.457 now. He's added 16 homers, 82 RBI, 52 runs scored, 25 doubles and a stolen base over 111 contests.

Lowe isn't in the Rangers' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros.

The lefty-hitting Lowe will retreat to the bench Tuesday as southpaw Framber Valdez starts on the mound for Houston. Ezequiel Duran will take over at first base and bat ninth.

Flores (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2024 season, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Flores underwent a Tenex procedure on his right knee Tuesday and the Giants ruled the infielder out for the remainder of 2024 following the surgery. The 32-year-old's 12th MLB season comes to and end with Flores having contributed four homers, 19 runs and 26 RBI in 242 plate appearances across 71 games. Mark Canha is slated to platoon with LaMonte Wade at first base in the closing two months of the regular season.

Diaz (thumb) will start at first base and bat leadoff in Tuesday's game versus the Cardinals, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Diaz had to depart Sunday's game against the Astros with a bruised left thumb, but he's back in action Tuesday without having missed any starts. He'll enter play Tuesday sporting a .963 OPS in eight contests since returning from the restricted list.

Arraez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Pittsburgh, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Arraez will avoid a matchup with southpaw Bailey Falter, giving way to Jake Cronenworth at first base and Donovan Solano at DH. Arraez has been held out of the lineup in three of the Padres' last six games against left-handed pitching.

Freeman went 1-for-4 in Monday's 5-3 win against the Phillies.

Freeman missed eight games while on the family medical emergency list before returning to action Monday. He received a standing ovation from the crowd at Dodger Stadium prior to his first at-bat and singled to right field in the third. Freeman and his wife, Chelsea, shared that their three-year-old son was discharged from the hospital Sunday after being diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome. With the child on the mend, Freeman appears set to resume his everyday role at first base for the Dodgers.
