However, he's added a pair of stolen bases and has struck out four times to three walks during that stretch.

Dalbec entered Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Giants in the bottom of the fifth inning after Garrett Cooper was hit by a pitch on the wrist. Dalbec was hit by a pitch and subsequently stole a base in his lone plate appearance.

The early word on Cooper's injury is a wrist contusion, and it's unclear how much time he'll need to make a full recovery. The development puts Dalbec back in the mix for more playing time; he had been the primary first baseman prior to Boston acquiring Cooper last week.

Tellez isn't in the Pirates' lineup Tuesday versus Oakland, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

With left-hander Alex Wood set to start on the mound for the A's, the lefty-hitting Tellez will step out of the lineup. Connor Joe will fill in at first base Tuesday and bat third.

Encarnacion-Strand (hand) isn't in the Reds' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Encarnacion-Strand will sit for the third straight game after taking a pitch off his left hand during Saturday's win over Texas. He was available off the bench Monday and may still be used if needed Tuesday, but Jeimer Candelario will be the one starting at first base while Santiago Espinal covers the hot corner.

The Brewers optioned Miller to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.

Miller has appeared in seven games for the Brewers this season, tallying just one hit in 12 at-bats while striking out five times. He'll be forced back to the minors following the addition of Tyler Black to the big-league squad, though Miller could return to Milwaukee if the Brewers need to call on their organizational infield depth.

Bauers is not in the Brewers' lineup Tuesday versus the Rays.

Southpaw Tyler Alexander will start on the mound Tuesday for Tampa Bay, which means the lefty-hitting Bauers will begin the game on the bench. Rhys Hoskins will get the start at first base and Gary Sanchez will serve as the DH for Milwaukee. However, Bauer will have competition for playing time at first base going forward with the arrival of Tyler Black, who was promoted from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.

The Astros selected Loperfido's contract from Triple-A Sugar Land, and he's starting in left field and batting seventh Tuesday against the Guardians.

The 24-year-old will receive his first taste of the big leagues as veteran Jose Abreu heads to the minors amid a horrid start to the campaign. Loperfido should see time at both first base and in the outfield but may not immediately have an everyday role, as GM Dana Brown said he doesn't think it would be "fair" to use Loperfido as the regular first baseman right away.

Astros general manager Dana Brown said Tuesday that Abreu is not with the MLB club and will be optioned to the Astros' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate Wednesday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

The 37-year-old has struggled to a .099/.156/.113 slash line in 77 plate appearances through the first month of the season, so he'll voluntarily head to Houston's FCL affiliate in an attempt to "get some at-bats and his timing back right," per Brown. It will be the first time in the minors for Abreu, as he immediately joined the White Sox after coming up from Cuba in 2014 and has never had a minor-league rehab assignment.

Busch is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Mets.

Southpaw Sean Manaea is on the hill for the Mets, so the left-handed hitting Busch will take a seat. Patrick Wisdom will occupy first base for the Cubs on Tuesday.
