  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

Marlins' Josh Bell: Homers among three hits

Bell went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-1 victory over the Brewers.

Bell popped a 379-foot homer off Freddy Peralta in the third inning for his 22nd of the year. He has enjoyed a nice turnaround since joining the Marlins from the Guardians at the trade deadline, hitting .276 with 11 home runs, 26 runs and 21 RBI over 48 games. Bell had previously hit .233 with 11 home runs, 26 runs and 48 RBI over 97 games in Cleveland.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Homers twice in win

Guerrero went 2-for-5 with two homers in Sunday's win over the Rays.

Guerrero looks to be back on track after going 1-for-13 in his previous five games. He smacked three homers in three games prior to that. The 24-year-old Guerrero is up to 26 homers and 94 RBI on the year while batting .266 with a .793 OPS through 660 plate appearances.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Managing tight hamstring

Diaz was diagnosed with right hamstring tightness after leaving Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

The 32-year-old went 1-for-2 with a run scored before he exited Sunday's contest with the injury. It's unclear if Diaz will require an MRI at this point, and he should be considered day-to-day heading into Tuesday's series opener at Boston.

  • Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM

Padres' Ji-Man Choi: On bench vs. lefty

Choi is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Choi is hitless in 20 at-bats since being acquired by San Diego, and he'll sit Sunday with southpaw Drew Rom on the mound for St. Louis. Garrett Cooper will start at first base and bat sixth.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Exits with apparent injury

Diaz was removed from Sunday's game against the Blue Jays with an apparent leg injury, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The 32-year-old went 1-for-2 with a run scored before being lifted with the apparent injury. The Rays have a team day off Monday, so Diaz will have some time to rest up before Tuesday's series opener in Boston.

  • Jared Walsh 1B | CHW

Angels' Jared Walsh: Out of Sunday's lineup

Walsh is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against Twins, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Walsh started the Angels' previous seven games but will head to the bench Sunday after he posted a .549 OPS during that stretch. Jo Adell will take over in right field Sunday, batting sixth.

  • Nolan Schanuel 1B | LAA

Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Takes seat Sunday

Schanuel is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Schanuel has reached base at least once in each of his first 26 big-league games but will take a seat Sunday versus Minnesota righty Joe Ryan. Brandon Drury will shift to first base while David Fletcher starts at the keystone.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Angels' C.J. Cron: Lands on injured list

The Angels placed Cron on the 10-day injured list Sunday with lower back inflammation.

Cron's back injury has bothered him all season, and his most recent move to the injured list will keep him out for the rest of the year, as there is just eight days remaining in the regular season. He'll finish 2023 with 12 homers and 37 RBI alongside a .248/.295/.434 slash line through 278 plate appearances. Mike Moustakas (forearm) was reinstated from the injured list in a corresponding move.

  • Nick Pratto 1B | TEX

    Royals' Nick Pratto: Sitting Sunday

Pratto isn't in the Royals' lineup Sunday against Houston.

Pratto will take a seat Sunday after logging a hit in each of the first two games of the series. Nick Loftin will fill in at first base and bat fifth in Pratto's place.

  • Nolan Schanuel 1B | LAA

Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Extends on-base streak

Schanuel reached on an infield single in the eighth inning of Saturday's 1-0 win over the Twins to extend his career-opening on-base streak to 26 games.

Schanuel barely beat out the throw to first base on his lone hit of the contest, but it was good enough to extend his franchise record of reaching base in 26 straight contests to begin a career. Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com, only three players in MLB history have exceeded that mark -- Alvin Davis (47) in 1984, Truck Hannah (38) in 1918 and Enos Slaughter (29) in 1938. Schanuel's impressive run has been fueled by an excellent 18:16 BB:K, and he's added a strong .283 batting average, though only three of his 28 hits so far have gone for extra bases.
