  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: On bench Sunday

Walker exited Saturday's contest with a right elbow contusion after being hit by a pitch and will be sidelined for at least one game. The 28-year-old already had X-rays come back negative, so he appears to have avoided a serious injury and should be considered day-to-day. Pavin Smith is starting at first base Sunday for Arizona.

Twins' Donovan Solano: Sits in series finale

Solano is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Despite delivering a four-hit performance in Saturday's 9-7 win and maintaining a .395/.430/.481 batting line since Aug. 1, Solano will hit the bench Sunday for the second straight matchup with a right-handed pitcher (Jon Gray). Minnesota will roll out the same lineup they used against right-hander Max Scherzer in Friday's series opener, with Joey Gallo spelling Solano at first base once again.

Tellez isn't in the Brewers' lineup Sunday against Philadelphia.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Not starting Sunday

France (elbow) isn't in the Mariners' lineup Sunday against the Mets.

  • Triston Casas 1B | BOS

Red Sox's Triston Casas: Clubs 22nd homer

Casas went 2-for-4 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Royals.

The first baseman hammered an Alec Marsh curveball 407 feet to right-center field in the first inning to help kick-start a big night for the Boston offense. Casas is slashing .301/.404/.538 in 29 games since the beginning of August with six of his 22 homers and 15 of his 55 RBI on the season.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: X-rays negative

Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Walker sustained a right elbow contusion during Saturday's loss to the Orioles, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

Walker was hit by a pitch on the elbow, and X-rays following the game indicated he may have dodged a more serious injury. "X-rays (were) negative, which is great," Walker said. "Just a ton of nerve pain." The injury was initially described as right hand discomfort because the pitch hit a nerve in the elbow and resulted in numbness in the hand and fingers. Walker is not expected to play Sunday, but he was encouraged by the initial results.
