Jose Abreu 1B | HOU
Astros' Jose Abreu: Counting stats picking up
Abreu went 1-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored Monday against the Blue Jays.
Abreu opened the scoring for the Astros in the first inning with a two-run double before also coming around to score. He has yet to homer this season, but he has two doubles, two runs scored and four RBI across his last five games -- though he's also hit only .143 in that span. Overall, Abreu has a very underwhelming 54 wRC+ and .250 wOBA after 75 plate appearances, but he continues to hit exclusively in the cleanup spot in the Houston lineup.

Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Goes deep twice in loss
Freeman went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in an 8-6 loss to the Mets on Monday.
Freeman powered Los Angeles' offense one day after striking out four times against the Cubs. The star first baseman came into the contest on an uncharacteristic cold streak, as he was batting just .143 (4-for-28) with no extra-base hits and nine strikeouts over his previous seven games. Freeman emerged in a big way with a solo home run off David Peterson in the first inning and a game-tying two-run shot off Peterson in the fifth. He's slashing .328/.416/.522 through 77 plate appearances on the campaign, though he's knocked in just six runs including Monday's outburst.

Wilmer Flores 1B | SF
Giants' Wilmer Flores: Adds three more hits
Flores went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Marlins.
Flores has logged a pair of three-hit efforts over his last four games, and he's hit safely in five of his last six contests. The versatile infielder has enjoyed a run of playing time at first base with the Giants facing southpaws in four of their last six games. For the season, Flores is slashing .317/.364/.512 with two home runs, six RBI, seven runs scored and two doubles over 44 plate appearances.

Brandon Dixon 1B | SD
Padres' Brandon Dixon: Recalled from El Paso
Dixon was recalled from Triple-A El Paso by the Padres on Monday.
Dixon is recalled just a day after being sent down to Triple-A El Paso to replace Luis Campusano after Campusano was placed on the injured list with a thumb sprain. Dixon is starting in right against Atlanta on Monday, but his stay in the majors could be short with Fernando Tatis coming off the suspended list Thursday.

Luke Raley RF | SEA
Rays' Luke Raley: Moves to bench Monday
Raley is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Raley, Josh Lowe and Harold Ramirez all appear to be vying for two regular spots in the lineup versus right-handed pitching, and Raley will find himself as the odd man out Monday. Since slugging three home runs in his first five games of the season, Raley has slashed .174/.269/.261 over a stretch of eight contests.

LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW
Giants' LaMonte Wade: Out again versus lefty
Wade is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
For the fifth time in seven games, the lefty-hitting Wade finds himself on the bench while the Giants face yet another southpaw pitcher. Wilmer Flores will occupy Wade's usual spot at first base versus Miami lefty Jesus Luzardo, while Thairo Estrada serves as San Francisco's leadoff man.

Paul Goldschmidt 1B | NYY
Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Getting day off
Goldschmidt is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
It's the first day off this season for the reigning National League MVP. Brendan Donovan will handle first base and Nolan Gorman will play second.

Spencer Steer 1B | CIN
Reds' Spencer Steer: Out Monday with knee injury
Steer is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays due to a sore right knee, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
Steer exited Sunday's 14-3 loss to the Phillies with the injury and is viewed as day-to-day, but he'll need to miss at least one game on account of the issue. Nick Senzel is covering third base Monday in Steer's stead.

Keston Hiura 2B | LAD
Brewers' Keston Hiura: Tearing it up in Triple-A
Hiura went 6-for-24 (.250) with five home runs, eight RBI and a 2:7 BB:K over his last six games with Triple-A Nashville.
Hiura opened the season in the minors for the first time since 2019, and opposing pitchers have offered little resistance thus far. That's not surprising, as Hiura now owns a 1.005 OPS across 133 Triple-A games. The hot streak would seem to put him in the mix for a call-up, but the Brewers seem set at first base and the DH spot for the time being. A trade is a possibility, but Hiura went unclaimed after being designated for assignment in late March, so outside interest appears light. Hiura is bound to get another shot in the majors at some point; it's just uncertain when that will arrive.

Elehuris Montero 1B | COL
Rockies' Elehuris Montero: Struggling in return to lineup
Montero went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts Sunday against the Mariners.
Montero started at third base for the second consecutive day since returning from a three-game absence caused by a thumb injury. He collected an RBI knock in Saturday's matchup, but he has gone just 1-for-6 with three strikeouts since his return. Despite a 31.8 percent strikeout across 44 plate appearances on the season, Montero has maintained a .310/.341/.452 line.
