Josh Bell DH | MIN
Nationals' Josh Bell: Exits early Saturday
Bell was removed from Saturday's game against the Giants prior to the top of the third inning, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.
The reason for Bell's removal was not disclosed, but he was forced to leave a game early for the second time this week. Bell's status will be updated again when more information is released.

Yandy Diaz 1B | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Day off Saturday
Diaz will sit Saturday against Boston, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
Diaz finds himself on the bench for the second time in three games. He's started the year hitting .275/.383/.325 through 12 games, a respectable line everywhere except the power department. Taylor Walls, who's hitting .292/.452/.417, will get the start at the hot corner again Saturday. Diaz could be at risk of his playing time slipping if the 25-year-old Walls continues to hit well, though he'll likely still have a role.

Matt Olson 1B | ATL
Braves' Matt Olson: Drives in two Friday
Olson went 1-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Friday's win over the Marlins.
After crossing the plate with the game's first run in the bottom of the first inning, Olson gave his squad some insurance in the seventh with a two-run double. The first baseman is quickly making Atlanta fans feel better about the departure of Freddie Freeman, as Olson is slashing .389/.500/.630 with two homers, four RBI and 10 runs through his first 15 games of 2022.

Yuli Gurriel DH | SD
Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Drives in two Friday
Gurriel went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Blue Jays.
His bases-loaded dribbler the other way beat the shift with two outs in the third inning, giving the Astros a 3-0 lead they couldn't hold. Gurriel came into Friday's game with zero RBI on the season, and even after the multi-hit effort he's still slashing only .184/.205/.289 through 10 contests.

Nate Lowe 1B | CIN
Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Remains hot
Lowe went 2-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Friday's 8-1 win over the Atheltics.
Lowe's two-run, opposite-field job in the second inning was all the Rangers would need, but the league's third-ranked team scoring offense (5.31 runs per game) piled it on. The blast extended his hitting streak to eight games (15-for-33, 1.092 OPS), and the two hits put the first baseman among the MLB leaders in average, ranking second at .412. There's still a question as to whether Lowe will put up slugging numbers traditionally associated with a first baseman -- his GB% is at a career-high 55.8 through 51 at-bats -- but the 26-year-old has outperformed the team's previous option at first, Ronald Guzman, who failed to take hold despite many opportunities since 2018.

Christian Walker 1B | HOU
Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Slugs third homer
Walker went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in a 6-5 loss to the Mets on Friday.
Walker didn't do much early, but his eighth-inning shot off New York reliever Trevor May brought Arizona to within one run of the lead. The 31-year-old has put together a modest five-game on-base streak to bump his OPS from .583 to .648, though he'll need to start producing numbers like he did in 2019 and 2020 (.824 and .792 slugging percentage, respectively) to truly make an impact.

Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Two hits, stolen base
Freeman went 2-for-4 with a run, walk and a stolen base in a 6-1 win over San Diego on Friday.
Freeman singled and stole second in the first inning, walked in the third and singled and scored in the seventh to continue a torrid five game-stretch that's see n the 32-year-old go 10-for-20 with three multi-hit games. After a slow start, the first-year Dodger is slashing .346/.417/.519 to place among the league leaders in each category while the theft was his first.

Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL
White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Records third homer
Vaughn went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Friday against the Twins.
Vaughn accounted for Chicago's only run of the game when he led off the fifth inning with his third homer of the season. He had swung a cold bat immediately prior to this performance, collecting just three hits with no counting stats across his last five starts and 16 at-bats. Despite the slow stretch, Vaughn is hitting .313/.389/.625 while maintaining an 11.1 percent strikeout rate across 36 total plate appearances.

Paul Goldschmidt 1B | NYY
Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Collects three hits, two RBI
Goldschmidt went 3-for-5 with two RBI during Friday's 4-2 win against the Reds.
The 34-year-old entered Friday's contest 3-for-32 over the past eight games, so the three-hit performance was certainly a welcome sight. Goldschmidt is still looking for his first home run of the season and has significant work to do on his .196/.302/.239 slash line.

Alec Bohm 3B | PHI
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Drives in go-ahead run
Bohm went 1-for-4 with a two-run single in Friday's 4-2 win over the Brewers.
Bohm's two-run single in the eighth put the Phillies up 3-2 and proved to be the go-ahead knock. The 25-year-old slugger has been terrific at the plate to start the year; he's now slashing .440/.455/.640 with nine RBI through 25 at-bats. As long as he's swinging a hot bat, Bohm should continue to see regular time at third base.
