  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Swipes bag in win

Gimenez went 2-for-5 with a stolen base and one RBI in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the White Sox.

Gimenez saw a seven-game hitting streak end Monday, but he was right back at it with his second multi-hit effort of the month. The second baseman's improved batting in the second half of the season has helped him return to the No. 2 spot in the order versus right-handers after spending much of the campaign in the bottom half of the lineup. Gimenez is now at a .254/.304/.342 slash line with 28 steals, eight home runs, 58 RBI and 60 runs scored over 137 contests.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Gets on base four times

Altuve went 3-for-5 with a double, a walk and two RBI in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-innings loss to the Athletics.

Altuve has multiple hits in four straight games, and he's added at least one double and one RBI in each of those contests. Since Aug. 27, he's batting .385 (20-for-52) with a home run, six doubles, six RBI and 12 runs scored over 13 games. The second baseman's surge has him up to a .304/.359/.452 slash line with 19 homers, 20 stolen bases, 62 RBI and 86 runs scored through 140 games overall.

  • Zack Gelof 2B | ATH

Athletics' Zack Gelof: Homer, steal in extra-innings win

Gelof went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a stolen base and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-innings win over the Astros.

Gelof notched his second multi-hit effort in a row and extended his hitting streak to six games. He's also swiped a bag in three straight games. The second baseman is up to 17 homers, 23 steals, 45 RBI, 56 runs scored and a .211/.273/.376 slash line through 121 contests overall.

  • Will Wagner 2B | SD

Blue Jays' Will Wagner: Sitting against left-hander

Wagner is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Mets.

It's southpaw David Peterson on the bump for the Mets, so the left-handed hitting Wagner will begin this one on the bench. Davis Schneider will start at second base and bat seventh for Toronto on Tuesday.

  • Angels' Brandon Drury: Belts long homer in victory

Drury went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk Monday in a 6-2 win against the Twins.

Drury's third-inning solo shot to left field traveled an estimated 459 feet. It was his first extra-base hit of September, though he's been swinging the bat decently well this month, hitting .276 over 29 at-bats through eight contests. That's a vast improvement over the .157 mark he posted through the end of August.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Belts pinch-hit home run

Lowe went 1-for-1 with a solo homer in Monday's 2-1 loss against the Phillies.

Lowe returned after missing the last three games with an injury to his middle finger and hit a game-tying blast in the ninth off Carlos Estevez in his first at-bat back. It was Lowe's 17th homer of the year and his first since Aug. 18. Injury issues have limited Lowe to just 90 games this season, but he's having his best offensive campaign since 2021. The Rays have a $10.5 million club option ($1 million buyout) for Lowe in 2025.

  • Nicky Lopez 3B | COL

White Sox's Nicky Lopez: Sitting against lefty

Lopez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Guardians.

Lopez and fellow left-handed batters Gavin Sheets and Dominic Fletcher will head to the bench Monday while the Guardians send southpaw Joey Cantillo to the hill for the series opener. Jacob Amaya will fill in for Lopez at shortstop.

  • Edouard Julien 2B | COL

Twins' Edouard Julien: Avoiding southpaw matchup

Julien is absent from Monday's lineup against the Angels.

With the Halos sending southpaw Reid Detmers to the mound Monday, the lefty-hitting Julien will retreat to the dugout. Kyle Farmer will start at second base and bat sixth.

  • Kyren Paris SS | LAA

Angels' Kyren Paris: Back in action at Triple-A

Paris (lower body) has slashed .103/.133/.276 with a 1:12 BB:K in seven games since being activated from Triple-A Salt Lake's 7-day injured list Sept. 1.

Paris had been out of action for nearly two months before he returned to the Salt Lake lineup. The 22-year-old has struggled to find a rhythm at the dish since being activated and is now holding down a weak .641 OPS with three home runs and five stolen bases over 111 plate appearances at Triple-A in 2024.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Not in Monday's lineup

Lowe (finger) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game in Philadelphia.

Left-hander Cristopher Sanchez is toeing the rubber for the Phillies, so the lefty-hitting Lowe might not have started Monday even if his finger injury is no longer a concern. In any case, with Lowe on the bench for a fourth straight game, Jose Caballero will pick up another start at second base.
