  • Angels' Christian Moore: Out of lineup Saturday

Moore isn't in the starting nine against Houston on Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Moore has recently seen his playing time surge back up, as he came into Saturday having started four of the Angels' previous five games, going 4-for-15 with a home run during that span. However, he'll begin on the bench Saturday while Luis Rengifo starts at second base.

  • Royals' Jonathan India: Not starting Saturday

India is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus Detroit.

India had started in each of the Royals' past 12 games, batting a paltry .179 (7-for-39) with one home run and three RBI during that stretch. He'll get at least a partial day to reset Saturday while Michael Massey plays second base and Adam Frazier serves as the DH.

  • Jazz Chisholm CF | NYY

Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Reaches 25-25 milestone

Chisholm stole his 25th base of the season while going 0-for-3 with two walks and two runs in Friday's 10-2 win over the White Sox.

With Chisholm's stolen base Friday, he's up to 25 thefts to go along with his 26 home runs on the campaign, marking the first time in his career he's reached the 25-25 mark. Among MLB hitters this season, only Jose Ramirez, Pete Crow-Armstrong and Francisco Lindor got to the 25-25 mark more quickly than Chisholm. Much of Chisholm's stolen-base total has come over the past three weeks -- he's gone 11-for-11 in theft attempts across his past 17 contests and has swiped one bag in each of his past three games.

  • Dylan Moore 2B | TEX

Rangers' Dylan Moore: Starts at first base

Moore started at first base and went 1-for-2 with an RBI in Friday's 5-2 win over the Athletics.

The injury-riddled Rangers are getting by with unexpected names in the infield. Moore, whose contract was selected Friday, filled in for the injured Jake Burger (wrist). There are other opportunities for Moore with two middle-infield starters -- shortstop Corey Seager (appendectomy) and second baseman Marcus Semien (foot) -- currently on the shelf.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Tigers' Gleyber Torres: Collects three hits in win

Torres went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Friday's 5-3 win over the Royals.

Torres recorded his first three-hit performance since July 22 to help lead the Tigers to a win. The infielder is struggling a bit this month with a .213 batting average and .324 on-base percentage, though he still has a respectable .263 batting average and .365 on-base percentage overall. Torres has also contributed 14 home runs, 61 RBI and 69 runs scored across 120 games this season.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Records 13th steal

Holliday went 2-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 15-8 loss to the Giants.

Holliday has posted consecutive multi-hit efforts after going eight games without one. The infielder is batting a paltry .173 (17-for-98) over 25 contests in August, adding just four extra-base hits, six RBI and three steals. For the season, he's posted a lackluster .244/.306/.378 slash line with 15 homers, 13 steals, 49 RBI, 60 runs scored, 18 doubles and two triples across 126 contests. Baltimore continues to put him in a position to succeed as the leadoff hitter, but he's still looking for long-term consistency.

  • Dylan Moore 2B | TEX

    Rangers' Dylan Moore: Officially promoted

The Rangers selected Moore's contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.

With Corey Seager (abdomen) expected to miss the vast majority, if not the remainder of the regular season, Moore will come up from the minors to round out the Rangers' infield depth. Josh Smith is expected to take over as Texas' primary shortstop going forward; however, Moore's ability to play virtually every position could allow him to play on a somewhat consistent basis.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Pops 23rd homer

Altuve went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Thursday against the Rockies.

Altuve kicked off the scoring for the Astros by going deep in the first inning, his 23rd homer of the season. He's had mixed results in August, as he's hit just .229 across 96 at-bats, though he's also smacked five home runs and swiped three bases. Overall, he's topped 20 long balls for the first time since 2022 and should reach double-digit steals for the fourth consecutive campaign.

  • Jazz Chisholm CF | NYY

Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Homer, steal in Thursday's win

Chisholm went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a second RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's 10-4 win over the White Sox.

Chisholm logged a steal for the second game in a row, and he's also swatted four homers while supplying eight RBI over his last five games. The 27-year-old continues to put up strong power and speed numbers with 26 homers and 24 steals through 102 contests. He's added 66 RBI, 63 runs scored and a .242/.338/.495 slash line, with the low average being about the only flaw in his overall performance this year.

  • Ryan Bliss SS | SEA

Mariners' Ryan Bliss: Commencing rehab assignment

Bliss (biceps) is starting a rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday.

Bliss has been ahead of schedule and is expected to make his return to the majors in mid-September. He will likely need 40-to-50 at-bats during his rehab assignment before he's activated to return to Seattle.
