Enmanuel Valdez 2B | PIT
Red Sox's Enmanuel Valdez: Joining taxi squad
Valdez joined the Red Sox in Baltimore but hasn't been officially recalled from Triple-A Worcester, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
Outfielder/designated hitter Tyler O'Neill (knee) is back in Boston to undergo imaging, so Valdez will be part of the taxi squad for now while the Red Sox wait and see whether O'Neill requires a stint on the 10-day injured list. The 25-year-old Valdez has been playing first base and third base in addition to his familiar spot at second base while at Worcester, and is slashing .230/.360/.527 with six home runs and three steals in 20 games. He had a .452 OPS in 28 contests earlier this season with Boston.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Lengthy starting streak ends
Semien is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Semien will get a day off for the first time since May 12, 2022, ending a streak of 349 consecutive regular-season starts. Though Semien isn't nursing a new injury, manager Bruce Bochy told Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News that the 33-year-old will be getting a couple days of rest -- Texas is off Thursday -- before returning to the lineup Friday in Miami since he's been playing a little banged up after he was involved in a collision in the outfield with teammate Adolis Garcia in a May 18 game. Ezequiel Duran will step in at second base in Semien's stead Wednesday, while designated hitter Travis Jankowski takes over Semien's spot atop the batting order.

Luis Rengifo 2B | MIL
Angels' Luis Rengifo: Notches three hits
Rengifo went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Yankees.
Rengifo did a good job getting on base throughout the night, and he was able to score after his singles in the first and eighth innings. The infielder has been locked in since returning from an illness May 17, going 15-for-42 (.357) over his last 10 contests. That has raised his slash line to .331/.378/.504 with four home runs, 12 stolen bases, 17 RBI and 22 runs scored across 144 plate appearances on the year.

Edouard Julien 2B | COL
Twins' Edouard Julien: On bench Tuesday
Julien is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Royals.
As usual, Julien will give way to Kyle Farmer at second base with a left-handed pitcher on the mound. Julien has just three hits in his last 27 at-bats and could start losing work against RHP if his struggles persist.

Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Lands on IL with hamstring strain
The Mariners placed Polanco on the 10-day injured list Monday due to a right hamstring strain.
Polanco was replaced by Josh Rojas in the sixth inning of Sunday's 9-5 win over the Nationals, with the former going 1-for-2 with an RBI before exiting. Polanco missed seven games earlier in May due to a right hamstring issue, and the 30-year-old will spend time on the injured list this time around. General manager Justin Hollander said Monday that while Polanco has not yet undergone an MRI, he is not expected to be sidelined long, per Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM. The Mariners selected Ryan Bliss from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move, and he will start at second base Monday and bat eighth against Astros southpaw Framber Valdez.

Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR
Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Logs steal in Sunday's win
Gimenez went 2-for-4 with a hit-by-pitch one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Angels.
Gimenez had a couple of hitless games last week, but he went 5-for-15 with five RBI and was plunked three times over the last four games. The second baseman is up to eight steals on 11 attempts this season, with Sunday's steal being his first since May 17. He's added a .270/.333/.383 slash line with four home runs, 32 RBI and 31 runs scored over 50 contests.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Delivers game-winning runs
Lowe hit a triple, drove in three and scored a run in his only plate appearance Sunday against the Royals.
Lowe got a day off even with righty Michael Wacha on the mound, though Lowe managed to deliver the game-winning knock after pinch-hitting with the bases loaded in the eighth inning. Despite the positive outcome Sunday, he is still only 3-for-18 with five strikeouts since returning from the injured list May 20.

Edouard Julien 2B | COL
Twins' Edouard Julien: Moves down order amid slump
Julien went 0-for-2 in Sunday's loss to the Rangers. He was moved down to eighth in the lineup against a right-handed starter amid a 1-for-25 slump that has lowered his batting average to .199 and his OPS to .674.
Julien also has just one walk over his last eight games as well as his struggles since the end of April have accelerated. He was hitting just .147 with a .418 OPS over his last 24 games before Sunday. Moving him down in the order from his usual leadoff spot against right-handed pitchers is a sign of his recent troubles. His slump has lasted long enough that he may start to lose playing time and it's not out of the question that he could face a trip to the minors to get him back on track .

Jorge Mateo SS | ATL
Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Logs steal Sunday
Mateo went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's 4-1 win over the White Sox.
Mateo has racked up five steals while going 6-for-23 (.261) over his last eight games. The infielder is up to 10 thefts on the year, putting him roughly on pace to challenge for a third straight 30-steal campaign. He's slashing .247/.302/.464 with three home runs, nine RBI, 18 runs scored, 10 doubles and a triple over 108 plate appearances, though he's seen a starting role at second base for most of May.
