Mateo went 0-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Athletics.

Mateo has seen limited playing time this season, though he could get more looks after Jackson Holliday was sent down to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday. Through 35 plate appearances, Mateo is slashing .250/.314/.406 with four steals, one RBI, five runs scored and five doubles. He's unlikely to take a full-time role from Jordan Westburg, Ramon Urias or Cedric Mullins, but Mateo offers utility value and speed while playing primarily versus left-handed pitchers.

Semien went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Friday's victory over the Reds.

Semien's eighth-inning homer broke the tie in a game that had been deadlocked at 1-1 since the second frame, and it ended up being all that was needed to lift Texas over the Reds in Friday's low-scoring affair. The 33-year-old has now reached the 20-RBI mark in just 27 games, though he's gone just 4-for-25 with two RBI across his last six contests.

Drury (hamstring) is starting as the designated hitter and batting fifth in Friday's game against the Twins, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

After returning to action for all three games against the Reds last weekend, Drury missed the past three contests against the Orioles due to a lingering left hamstring injury. The three-game absence, along with the Angels' off day Thursday, seems to have done the trick for Drury, as he'll start at DH for the series opener Friday versus Minnesota. The 31-year-old is slashing .194/.270/.269 with two doubles, six runs, one home run and four RBI over 74 plate appearances to begin the season.

Gimenez is not in the lineup for Friday's game in Atlanta.

Atlanta is starting southpaw Chris Sale, so it's not a bad day for the left-handed hitting Gimenez to get a breather. Gabriel Arias will handle second base Friday.

Julien went 2-for-4 with two solo homers in Thursday's win over the White Sox.

Julien has shown good power early in the season with seven home runs and a .513 SLG, with three of those long balls coming in his past four contests. He's hitting just .213 and has a 31.9 percent strikeout rate, which is a marginal increase on his strikeout rate from last season.

The Athletics placed Gelof on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a strained left oblique.

Gelof's injury caused him to be a late scratch from Oakland's lineup ahead of Wednesday's game, and it will now officially cost him at least another week and a half. The 24-year-old second baseman hadn't missed a start prior to Wednesday, though he's failed to make the most of his playing time, slashing just .196/.260/.337 with seven RBI across his first 101 plate appearances. Darell Hernaiz was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move.

Biggio is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.

With the Blue Jays and Royals concluding their series with a day game after a night game and with a southpaw (Cole Ragans) on the hill for Kansas City, the lefty-hitting Biggio will get the afternoon off. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will step in for Biggio at the keystone.

Valdez is out of the lineup for Thursday's game in Cleveland.

Valdez is getting a routine day off after starting at second base in each of the Red Sox's previous nine contests. David Hamilton will handle the keystone Thursday.

Mead went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 7-5 win over the Tigers.

The 23-year-old took Will Vest deep in the sixth inning to break open a 5-5 tie. It was Mead's first homer, and first extra-base hit, of the season, but he could be running out of time to solidify his spot in the lineup with Brandon Lowe (oblique) and Jonathan Aranda (finger) on track to return in early May. Over the last 12 games, Mead is batting just .216 (8-for-37) with a 1:10 BB:K.

Polanco went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in a loss to the Rangers on Wednesday.

Polanco's struggles at the plate continued for the most part, with his average now sitting at a paltry .175 through 99 plate appearances. However, the veteran also sports a surprisingly solid .333 on-base percentage that's largely the result of his 18.9 percent walk rate. The free pass he drew Wednesday also led to his first stolen base of the campaign, and the combination of Polanco's career-low .234 BABIP and above-average 24.0 percent line-drive rate seems to imply his luck when putting the ball in play should start to turn soon.
