Kemp isn't starting Monday against the Angels.

Kemp will take a seat for a second consecutive game since left-hander Patrick Sandoval is starting for the Halos on Monday. Seth Brown is taking over in left field and batting fifth.

Torres was removed from Monday's lineup against the Rangers since he's under the weather, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.

Torres was scratched from the lineup just over an hour before first pitch, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be available off the bench for the series opener in Texas. He should be considered day-to-day ahead of the Yankees' final two regular-season games.

Torres was scratched from Monday's lineup against the Rangers for an undisclosed reason, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Torres was initially slated to start at the keystone and bat third Monday, but he was removed from the lineup just over an hour before the start of the game. Oswald Peraza will shift to second base while Isiah Kiner-Falefa enters the lineup at shortstop.

Arraez (hamstring) isn't in the lineup Monday against the White Sox.

Arraez is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak, but he's dealing with a hamstring injury that will keep him on the bench for a second consecutive matchup. Matt Wallner will serve as the designated hitter and bat seventh Monday.

Gonzalez isn't starting Monday against the Twins.

Gonzalez is sitting for the third time in the last four games after he went 0-for-2 with a strikeout Sunday against the Padres. Josh Harrison will start at the keystone and bat seventh.

The Athletics selected Mondou's contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday.

He'll join the Athletics for the final three games of the season after infielder Vimael Machin (personal) was placed on the paternity list in a corresponding move. A 27-year-old utility player, Mondou logged a .283/.374/.431 slash line to go with 40 extra-base hits in 449 plate appearances with Las Vegas.

Rosario is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.

Rosario is on the bench for the second time in four days, but Guardians manager Terry Francona hasn't suggested that the 26-year-old is dealing with an injury or in danger of losing his everyday role. Unless the Guardians provide an update to the contrary, consider Monday's absence from the lineup another routine maintenance day for Rosario, who has produced an .813 OPS over his last 17 games.

The Rays recalled Brujan from Triple-A Durham on Monday. He'll start at second base and bat leadoff in the Rays' series opener in Boston, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Brujan will join the 28-man active roster as a replacement for another utility player in Miles Mastrobuoni, who was optioned to Durham in a corresponding move. After being optioned to Durham on Sept. 7, Brujan finished the Triple-A season by slashing .268/.325/.380 with 11 stolen bases in 16 games, but his track record in the big leagues over the past two seasons hasn't been especially impressive.

Merrifield went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two RBI and an additional run in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Red Sox.

Since being acquired Aug. 2 from the Royals, Merrifield has largely served as a utility player for the Blue Jays, but the hot bat he's shown of late likely has him in line to handle an everyday role at second base once the postseason begins. Heading into the Blue Jays' final series of the regular season against the Orioles that begins Monday, Merrifield is riding a six-game hit streak and has reached base in all but one of his last 11 contests. During that 11-game stretch, Merrifield is slashing .421/.439/.842 with four home runs, four doubles, nine RBI and nine runs.

Andrus went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Sunday against the Padres.

Andrus took Blake Snell deep in the sixth inning to record his 16th homer of the season. The performance continued a surprising surge in power for Andrus, as he now has seven long balls across his last 29 games. He's also chipped in nine stolen bases in that span while hitting .288, reminiscent of his production dating back to the 2019 campaign.
