Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Homers in win
Lowe went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's 7-1 win over the Orioles.
After launching his 14th home run of the season as part of a multi-hit game, Lowe has now hit safely in five straight games and has recorded multiple hits in four of those five contests. In that streak, he is 10-for-22 (.455 batting average) with one double, two walks and three RBI. The 30-year-old is slashing .260/.311/.457 in 258 at-bats.

Zack Gelof 2B | ATH
Athletics' Zack Gelof: Set to start rehab assignment
Gelof (ribs) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Gelof has been out of commission since mid-March after suffering a fractured hamate bone in his right hand. Additionally, while on a minor-league rehab assignment in May, the infielder sustained a stress reaction in his ribs, which put him back on the shelf for over a month. Gelof posted a .211 average with 17 home runs, 49 RBI, 60 runs scored and 25 stolen bases over 138 games with the Athletics in 2024. Luis Urias has been productive at the plate (113 wRC+) while filling in at second base, but Gelof may push Urias to a utility role once activated.

Luis Urias 2B | ATH
Athletics' Luis Urias: Absent from lineup
Urias is not in the Athletics' starting lineup against the Astros on Monday.
Urias will begin Monday's game on the bench while Max Schuemann starts at the keystone and bats ninth. Urias has reached base safely in nine consecutive games, and over that span he has gone 8-for-31 (.258) with one steal, five runs scored, one home run and two RBI.

Kristian Campbell 2B | BOS
Red Sox's Kristian Campbell: First crack at DH gig
Campbell will serve as the designated hitter and bat ninth against the Mariners on Monday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
The Red Sox will be experimenting with their lineup after trading Rafael Devers to the Giants on Sunday. Campbell will be the first to take on DH duties while David Hamilton starts at second base. Campbell has gone 8-for-37 (.216) with two doubles, one home run and five RBI since the beginning of June.

Willi Castro RF | CHC
Twins' Willi Castro: Collects three hits in loss
Castro went 3-for-4 with a double during Sunday's 2-1 loss to Houston in 10 innings.
Castro extended his hit streak to eight games Sunday, delivering his fourth multi-hit performance during that stretch. The utility player has been on a tear lately, going 25-for-61 (.409) with five home runs, 12 runs scored and 10 RBI over his last 17 games. He owns a .290/.365/.483 slash line on the year.

Cole Young SS | SEA
Mariners' Cole Young: On bench against righty
Young is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.
The left-handed-hitting Young sat out the last time the Mariners faced a southpaw starter (Eduardo Rodriguez) on Wednesday, but the rookie will now exit the lineup as the Guardians send a right-hander (Luis L. Ortiz) to the bump. Since getting promoted from Triple-A Tacoma on May 31, Young has slashed just .209/.227/.256 with a 2.3 percent walk rate and 24.4 percent strikeout rate over 45 plate appearances. Young's time as the Mariners' primary second baseman could soon come to an end if his bat doesn't begin heating up.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Tigers' Gleyber Torres: Reaches four times Sunday
Torres went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 8-4 loss to the Reds.
Torres did a little bit of everything Sunday as he tallied his second multi-hit effort in the series against Cincinnati. The infielder has been a steady performer in his first season with the Tigers, and he's now batting .276 with a .796 OPS through 60 games. Torres regularly bats second in a strong Detroit lineup, which gives him plenty of fantasy upside, particularly when it comes to getting on base and scoring runs in front of the team's power bats.

Brendan Rodgers 2B | HOU
Astros' Brendan Rodgers: Returning to bench Sunday
Rodgers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
Rodgers will return to the bench after he went 2-for-9 with a run scored over the past three games. With Jacob Melton (ankle) going on the injured list Saturday, Jose Altuve will be needed in left field, but Rodgers may not necessarily be in store for a regular role at the keystone. Mauricio Dubon has been covering third base of late, but he could be prioritized at second base ahead of Rodgers if Isaac Paredes (hamstring) returns next week as anticipated.
-
DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Not in Sunday's lineup
LeMahieu is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
LeMahieu started the first two games of the series but will take a seat for Sunday's finale. The veteran infielder has carried a hot bat during the first half of June, as he is batting .382 (13-for-34) with two doubles, one homer and a 5:5 BB:K through 11 games this month. Oswald Peraza will step in at the keystone and bat ninth versus Boston righty Brayan Bello.

Christian Moore 2B | LAA
Angels' Christian Moore: Taking seat Sunday
Moore is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
After getting called up from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday, the 22-year-old Moore started at second base in the Angels' next two games and went 0-for-6 with a walk and three strikeouts. Though he'll take a seat for the series finale, the top prospect should get an extended look in a near-everyday role, at least until Yoan Moncada (knee) is ready to return from the injured list. Moore slashed .350/.424/.575 with four home runs and three steals in 20 games for Salt Lake prior to his promotion.
