Chavis was recalled from Triple-A Worcester on Friday.

Chavis briefly joined the major-league roster earlier in the season, but he'll now return to the Red Sox after Enrique Hernandez (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Chavis could see playing time at second base or in the outfield while Hernandez is sidelined.

Hernandez was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain Friday.

Hernandez was removed from Thursday's game against the Tigers due to a right hamstring issue, and he's now been diagnosed with a strain that will force him to miss additional time. Michael Chavis was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move and could see playing time while Hernandez is unavailable.

Arraez's concussion symptoms have subsided, and he's expected to return from the injured list when first eligible Tuesday or soon after, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Arraez left Monday's game against the Rangers with concussion symptoms and was placed on the seven-day injured list the next day. He's yet to resume baseball activities but is expected to do so soon.

Gimenez is not in the lineup Friday against the Reds.

Gimenez finds himself on the bench for the second consecutive game with Wade Miley on the mound for Cincinnati. Amed Rosario will start at shortstop while Harold Ramirez roams center field for Cleveland.

Hernandez (hamstring) is out of the lineup Friday against the Orioles, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The 29-year-old continues to be evaluated after exiting Thursday's game during the first inning with a hamstring injury, and manager Alex Cora indicated the team will decided later in the afternoon whether a trip to the injured list is necessary, per Alex Speier of The Boston Globe. Michael Chavis would likely be recalled from the taxi squad should Hernandez be placed on the shelf. Alex Verdugo will shift to center field Friday while Franchy Cordero starts in left.

Arroyo (hand) is out of the lineup Friday against the Orioles, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The 24-year-old was diagnosed with a bruised left hand after being hit by a pitch Wednesday, and he'll be held out of the lineup for the second straight game. According to Bill Koch of The Providence Journal, Arroyo has been cleared to run and play the field but isn't expected to hit until potentially rejoining the starting nine Sunday. Marwin Gonzalez will start at the keystone Friday for Boston.

Arroyo (hand) entered Thursday's game as a pinch runner, scored a run, and played an inning at second base.

Arroyo was held out of the starting lineup Thursday after getting hit by a pitch on his left hand. He ran for catcher Kevin Plawecki during Boston's game-deciding, four-run eighth inning, then remained in the game for the final inning. It appears he's well enough to play, and that may be needed, as Enrique Hernandez suffered a hamstring injury Thursday.

The hamstring injury Hernandez sustained Thursday is more than a cramp, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports. "He thought it was probably a cramp in the beginning, but then he felt it was more than a cramp," manager Alex Cora said. "I don't know how serious it is."

Hernandez was removed from Thursday's game in the bottom of the first inning after reaching second base on a double. It's uncertain yet if a stint on the injured list will be required. If he does land on the IL, there will be a domino effect in the outfield and infield. Hernandez hass primarily played center field, so an increase in playing time for Hunter Renfroe and Franchy Cordero would be expected. In the infield, where Hernandez has played second base, Christian Arroyo (hand) and Marwin Gonzalez could fill in. Michael Chavis, who was held out of Triple-A Worcester's lineup Thursday, could be the player added to the roster in the event Hernandez hits the IL.

Semien went 4-for-6 with a home run, a double and three runs scored in Thursday's win over the Athletics.

Semien has been seeing the ball well of late, as he's riding a six-game hitting streak while also recording at least one knock in 12 of his last 13 appearances and registering four multi-hit games in that period. He's hitting .367 with three homers, nine RBI, eight runs scored and a 1.049 OPS during that 13-game span.

Rosario went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI in a 4-0 win over the Royals on Thursday.

Rosario singled in the second inning to score Harold Ramirez and then tripled in the sixth inning to bring home Franmil Reyes. The 25-year-old recorded his third multi-hit game Thursday, but he's otherwise struggled at the plate, slashing .202/.264/.345 in 91 plate appearances.
