Lopez recorded hits in each of the past two games, but he'll get a breather Saturday. Whit Merrifield will shift to second base with Bubba Starling starting in center field.

Semien will sit for a second consecutive game, but he has been swinging the bat and feeling better recently. Vimael Machin will take over at shortstop Saturday.

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Officially reinstated
Torres (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Saturday.
Torres beat his return timetable by a large margin, and he'll be available for the injury-riddled Yankees on Saturday. The 23-year-old should resume his role as the team's primary shortstop going forward, but it's possible that the Yankees could monitor his workload early on to prevent further injury.

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: 'Good chance' to return Saturday
Manager Aaron Boone said Friday that there's a "good chance" Torres (hamstring) is activated Saturday, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Torres has dealt with a hamstring strain for just over two weeks, and he appears to be far ahead of his initial 3-to-6 week timeline. He participated in a scrimmage at the Yankees' alternate training site late this week and could return to action as soon as Saturday against the Orioles.

Twins' Jorge Polanco: Blasts Game 1 home run
Polanco went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during the win in Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader against the Tigers.
Polanco got the Twins off to a good start with a leadoff home run, and Josh Donaldson went yard in the following at-bat as well. The two runs proved to be the only run production of the matinee. Polanco is now hitting .269 with four home runs and 17 RBI this season.

Astros' Jose Altuve: Dealing with knee sprain
Altuve is dealing with a right knee sprain, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Altuve underwent an MRI on Friday, and manager Dusty Baker said that his injury was revealed to be a knee sprain. He's not in the lineup Friday and is unlikely to play during the Astros' weekend series against the Yankees. Aledmys Diaz should fill in at second base while Altuve is sidelined.

Altuve left Thursday's game with right knee discomfort, though an MRI on Friday revealed no serious injuries He'll sit for at least one game, however, with Aledmys Diaz getting the start at second base.

Blue Jays' Brandon Drury: Clears waivers
Drury cleared waivers Friday and was outrighted to the Blue Jays' alternate training site.
Drury failed to make an impact during his time on the big-league roster, hitting just .152/.184/.174 in 49 plate appearances. He now owns a .205/.254/.346 slash line over the last three seasons combined, so it's hardly a surprise that he passed through waivers unclaimed.

Arraez (kneecap) will remain on the bench for the second game of Friday's doubleheader against Detroit.
Arraez left Wednesday' game against the White Sox with left patellar soreness and did not take part in the first game of Friday's twin bill. Marwin Gonzalez starts at second base in his absence.
